A coworker had suggested this place for pizza and I gave it a shot last night (7/17/23). The delivery time they gave me (one hour) was a bit long but it was worth the wait. The pizza arrived hot and fresh. And look at all the toppings! They didn't spare any territory on that pizza! Every edible bit is covered with something. I got a Create Your Own with ham, black olives, mushrooms, onions and jalapeños (shocker, I know). It was delicious! The crust and sauce were good to go and the toppings tasted of good quality. As you can tell, I'm a HUGE pizza lover and when I got a promotion card while working for target to this place for a free slice of pizza and a drink, I had to go check it out. This place is called "Jalapeños Pizza and Wings" and you got to try it out. They have New York Style pizza, while New York City is literally two thousand miles or so, this is the best you can get. I headed in to this store for the promotion card but ended getting another slice so my mother and I could try. And boy, you are in for the win. The pizzas weren't salty as other places, fresh and hot! The dough that they make is like those New York City pizzeria, you can see the rise of the dough when you're ripping the pizza apart. That's when you know that the big dough was made by hand and not by some machine stretching them out. My mother and I, got the deluxe and pepperoni pizzas. It was so good that next time we come back, definitely going to get more and going to recommend anyone who is visiting Laredo should come and eat here. They also have two gaming system, I don't know what's the name of it but it seem fun. *side note: a slice of their pizza cost 2.69 with tax its roughly around 2.91. Jalapenos Pizza and Wings was one of the few places that deliver in Laredo, I had a taste for pizza and wings that at least had good reviews. I saw the reviews after I has ordered, which is not my normal way; especially if I have never tried the food. I ordered a medium bbg chicken pizza with a 8 piece side of wings. I was told the order would take 45 minutes to 1 hour, however the driver arrived in about 40 minutes. The driver was friendly and my pizza was above average hot. Here is my verdict from both: Pizza: The medium Pizza ($13.99) was not bad. Fully baked and included all my toppings I requested. For sure it was not the best pizza that I have ever tasted, but overall I would give it at least 3 stars for preparation, toppings and serving size. Mind you, there are cheaper chain alternatives here in Laredo. Wings: The wings were to me were not cooked/fried to my liking. I prefer crispy wings compared to somewhat of a boiled texture. I understand some like the meat softer, but U prefer my wings battered and also have the sauce flavor applied. If they would have prepared them in that manner, U for sure would giving a higher rating. Bottom line verdict: 2 stars Conclusion: I would be willing to give this location another try. The garlic sauce was perfect for drinking the crust. Ingredients felt high quality. We also snagged a great deal because Friday afternoon they have a deal that 2 topping large pizzas are only $10, which is a steal for a good pizza. I've really enjoyed this place. Took a chance when El popo was packed and have been back several times since. I've only had their fancy meats and pepperoni. Took my very picky mother and she constantly said how much she was enjoying hers. She ordered the supreme or whatever is equivalent to it. Prices are really decent too! They have big red and dr. Having some experience in the restaurant field...I wanted to see what was going on in the pizza segment. I do see a common theme with this concept..."raw dough" which made me think...yes I did try this pizza some months back but did not have a Yelp account in order to discuss my experience. Like I said I tried it once and that was many months ago because it didn't impress me or any of my family members for that matter. However, I do have to say when it comes to taste it is very subjective, because taste varies widely but the majority will win out every time. Now, let's talk about the raw dough issues...I remember when I opened my first pizzeria many years ago and all the research I did. Believe me when I say there is a science to it all. There is something called the "gum line" which is the space between the sauce and the dough...so, depending on the moisture content of your dough and the moisture content of your sauce this is where things can go wrong. To much moisture will create an uncooked doughy feeling in the bit which will leave you with a very bad experience...YIKES. Not good at all...and in this particular concept, they do not have a dough mixer which means they order frozen dough balls and so they have to proof it before they use it which means the problem in my personal opinion is the moisture content in the sauce which is attacking the dough and creating the doughy, uncooked experiences that people are having. Every sauce recipe will take water and depending on the consistency your looking for or the profitability you want to achieve...taste is important but for many mom and pops I personally believe profitability seems to out way which direction they head in...Now, with all that said do I think there is a concept in the Laredo market that is a Good, Great or Superior....No, as far as Superior... And No, as far as Great...Good is about all there is with several just Ok or passing if you ask me...The most important thing in any concept and according to the science behind why you buy a particular product has much more to do with just the taste of a pizza....even though most people disagree with that statement. read more

I have been a loyal customer to this local pizza place until yesterday. They had a special on their FB page stating order any pizza online and receive a free pepperoni pizza (medium). Nothing on this post said NO Delivery. So i go online to order and need Delivery seeing that my daughter was asleep and husband was working. Order the one pizza and breadsticks that I wanted go to the checkout and put the code in FREEPEP for the free pizza. A message comes up that code can not be used for delivery, so I call up Jalapeños and tell the girl the situation. Now most companies want to make their customers happy and would have honored the code seeing that it was on their fb page and it never said NO DELIVERY on the post. The manager or owner tells the girl to tell me well if that is what the code says then thats what it says!! I then tell the girl that it does not state that on the post and I was told basically oh well! I then go on their fb page and write a comment on the special stating that it is not for delivery and that they should update this and that you would think that they would honor the special and make a loyal customer happy. Check the post today and they DELETED my comment!! Now furious that they did this I wrote a review on their page, also let my local Laredo friends know this is how they treat their customers, and then wrote another comment on their post about the no delivery and deleting my comment, and they once again deleted my comment!!! Talk about being rude, and this owner not wanting any negative comments on the page. I won't be surprised if they delete my review to make people think that this place is GREAT, when they have the worst customer service ever! So they lost a customer and made me a new customer to Laredo Pizza Factory and the chain pizza places. read more
