We enjoyed a Mango-a-Go-Go smoothie and two Açaí Primo Bowls, which made for a refreshing treat in the sweltering weather. The only downside is the location, as it's situated next to Sam's Club, which means there's quite a bit of traffic in the area. I haven't frequented Jamba until this summer because of the heat wave and this location doesn't disappoint! They are on top of Covid-19 restrictions and handle social distancing very well! This location is the busiest in SD so if yall don't like waiting, I suggest going to a different spot to get your smoothie fix! There was a lack there of today with both these areas with my experience. 1. 4 people behind the counter- absolutely no social distancing 2. I always wondered why they never provide a number, or ask for a name. I waited 30 minutes for 2 juices, 15 more to get disrespected by 3/4 of the staff 3. Their manager or person in charge, Marques(?) was extremely incompetent as deescalating a situation. Learn to listen first and understand why the customer is upset. I stood right outside next to rails with everyone, whom weren't socially distant, and there were no markers for any of us to follow to distant ourselves. I asked them what name they used, and they couldn't tell me. IT IS BECAUSE YOU CANT SAY MY NAME!!!! They never asked for a name. Why not call out the order? Or again, give us a number or ask for a name! 5. The employees were extremely immature and lacked any leadership skill. There was only one person, Alan(?) who had any decencies. 6. Jaida, Marques (?), and Lala, please stop justifying everything. The nature of what you do is pressure behind the counter, if it's busy, quality shouldn't be compromised, and don't laugh when someone is upset. It's mean, and extremely unprofessional. 7. The drinks had zero ice in it, and the justification is that it melted. But why did my drink consist of 1/3 foam? We use to come here 4-5 times a week. We spend about $13-$15 each time we go. That's about $3,000 a year my family spends to support this branch. That's the loss of revenue for bad customer service and terrible people skills. I always order the same thing, white gummy with immunity boost, (I definitely needed the immunity boost before our flight the next day), I upgraded my size for 50 cents more, good job for the up-sell. I just moved to this area a little over a month ago and in this time I've been to this location about 15x... Some on the weekends and some on weekday mornings. I would have to say there is a HUGE DIFFERENCE in quality and consistency. On the weekend I wanna give one star because it can be horrible. Drink orders are wrong, no one knows what they're doing and it's such a mess. On the weekday mornings everything is perfection. I especially like Violet. She's always fast, friendly & efficient! ATTENTION READ THIS:  I am a frequent visitor to the the Jamba Juice located in the College Grove shopping center near the Sams Club. I very much patronize the business and have been a supportive customer for more than a decade. I have watched this location grow in my community. I placed my normal order for a large Orange Dream Machine. The order was placed with specific details as shown on the picture attached. The order was taken by the on site Manager Star Martinez, she acknowledged and reviewed the order with me, the order was then prepared by another staff member. Few minutes later my drink was completed and handed to me. I exited the the store took a quick sip and noticed chunks of ice in my drink. When I ordered I requested no ice and it was acknowledged by the Store Manager. I have ordered the drink the same way with no ice for many many years. I am aware of the use of ice to thicken the drink however, I have very sensitive teeth and I request no ice for that specific reason. There have been times in the past when I have ordered the drink with no ice and staff has accidentally placed ice in the drink and they have never had a problem remaking the drink again to my liking. To my misfortune, today was an extremely horrible customer service experience at Jamba and the worst experience that I have ever had with a management level employee ever. I went back into the store walked up to the counter where the Manager Star Martinez was located and politely let her know that ice had been placed in the drink and I would like it to be remade with no ice. She immediately started to communicate and defend her position regarding why ice had been placed in the drink.  She was argumentative, and exhibited an arrogance that was unyielding and would only focus on all of the reasons why it was so important that I understood that my smoothie needed to be made with ice. Never once did she identify or acknowledge my initial request. I interjected and asked her to please make the drink the way that I ordered it..... In addition, I reminded her that I paid money for the drink the way it was ordered. She continued attempting to over talk me aggressively and tell me I needed to listen to her explanation, truly unbelievable! The Manager told me with and attitude that she would not be lectured walked away and proceeded to remake the drink. She did not attempt at any time to defuse the situation. With an attitude she brought the drink back toward the counter sat it down and walked away. I asked if there was another Manager on site or who was her available superior. Another employee provided me with the store number and a different manager to contact named JR. Much appreciated! In business, I was always taught that customer service is.... If not the most important, one of the most important areas of business. I am very sure Jamba Juice trains their employees thoroughly about customer service, communication, overall politeness and etiquette. There is never an excuse to make a customer feel uncomfortable about ordering or buying a smoothie. Especially when the smoothie is made incorrectly. I mean.... We are talking about a smoothie. This does not reflect on Jamba Juice as a whole, just a really poor example of a Manager handling a situation with a customer. This Manager obviously has an insubordinate attitude, lacks experience in a Management position, and definitely needs more training. I like this J J because it's close to Walmart and Target which is where I shop at most of the time. I've never had a bad experience here and the employees are pretty friendly and helpful. I usually come here in the morning before I go to work and it's not to busy because I hate waiting in lines. Being that it's right next to 24hr fitness you will see a lot of people coming in from the gym and eye candy in the morning is always a plus. The prices are a little high but when you get so called healthy stuff it's usually expensive but that's okay with me. Also the baked goods aren't too bad and sometimes the employees gives you some scratchers to win baked goods or discounted smoothies. Lala went above and beyond for me at my last visit. I never really go to Jamba Juice, if I want a fresh pressed juice I go to the juice bar at whole foods for my fix. I was feeling under the weather and didn't want to drive to Hillcrest so I searched for juice bars near me and wasn't really expecting to find anything. I reluctantly went into this location hoping they might have something for me. There wasn't anything like I wanted on the menu so when I got to the cashier I asked if there was any way I could get a green juice with apple, cayenne, and tons of ginger. Lala worked with me to customize something on their menu to fit my needs and oh my goodness, she got it so right. She even took the initiative to make the drink herself.
