Jambalaya Arts Inc is an official 501c3 nonprofit Art Gallery and Community Art Space located in the heart of Downtown Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Founded in 2001, Jambalaya has been a steadfast fixture in the Oshkosh art scene for over 23 years. We do not jury artists into the gallery and anyone with original work is welcome to become a member. We offer several levels of membership starting at $0 for monthly dues. See our website for details on becoming a member. All of our board, people that plan our activities and keep the gallery open are volunteers. We have monthly featured artists and offer workshops, classes, music events, poetry readings, small play productions and from June-October on the 2nd Saturday of each month, have an artist market in the Algoma Art Alley behind the gallery. 2024 will be our 3rd year of our 13 hour Music and Art festival; Art in the Alley This event is completely free to the public and features 13 hours of live music on our stage in the Algoma Art Alley, Art demonstrations, a community piece for the public to paint on, several art vendors and a craft tent where you can make something for free to bring home. The date for the 2024 event is Saturday August 17th from 9am-10pm. Our hours can vary so check our Facebook page for the most up to date open hours or contact us via messenger, Instagram or email to schedule a private showing. History

Established in 2001.

Before it was a gallery, our building had many uses. Most notable is that the photographer Lewis W Hine was born in our building on September 26, 1874 . He was an American sociologist and muckraker photographer. His photographs were instrumental in bringing about the passage of the first child labor laws in the United States. The local historical society will be installing a plaque later in 2024. The building also housed a jewelry business and used to have pneumatic tubes running from the design studio on the top floor to the sales floor below. The old jewelry cases that lined the sides of our interior space make for great partitions for our many & varied artists. In 2008, the Johnny Depp film “Public Enemies” used Main Street in Oshkosh WI for many of the scenes centering around the bank heist. The facade of our building and surrounding businesses was altered for these scenes. Jambalaya Arts Inc was incorporated in 2014 and received our 501c3 nonprofit status in March of 2024

The current Art Nouveau exhibit showcases the different artworks, furniture, glass from the Chrysler Museum. The garden is beautiful as well. It's well taken care of and different plants and flowers were all over. There are fountains at the Rose Garden, Formal Garden, and Ceremony Garden. However on 3-4 different occasions of being there the owner of the store is consistently very loud, arrogant, and creates an annoying environment to try and work in. Instead of peace and quiet while trying to paint, you have a woman complaining about her finances or her kids personal issues. Would be nice to just have some peace.

My very first Oshkosh in the books! Holy moly I was not prepared for just how massive this airshow…read moreis. We came on a weekday morning with 3 toddlers who were very excited to see some airplanes, and that's exactly what they did! There was thousands of them! If you or someone in your family is a fan of airplanes/helicopters, this is the place for you. We had so much fun touring the different aircrafts, watching the planes and helicopters fly, and people watching! The parking situation at the designated lot was easy, and from there they have buses running to the actual show grounds. This space is HUGE -- wear comfortable shoes! There are trams running periodically up and down the main road, but once it becomes busy they are few and far between - we ended up walking all of it (with a wagon for the kiddos). We probably experienced 5% of the offerings at the airshow, but wow did we have fun. If you've got a toddler, I recommend grabbing some noise cancelling headphones so they can enjoy the fighter jets if you're lucky enough to catch a show! We enjoyed some popcorn, ice cream, pretzels, and frozen lemonade while wandering around. Delicious classic fair food that was reasonably priced. We can't wait to come back as our son gets older and continue to make memories here!

From the maze and hay rides to the petting zoo, there's a ton of stuff to keep the kids happy. And for the adults, there's *FOOD* - so much and so good! From apple muffins to apple pie and cider, all of it is delicious. The staff is friendly and motivated, what a great change from most places.
