My 1000th Review.... And it for something special!…read more My son's wedding was held at The Gibson Social Club last weekend and everything went well! This venue is pretty cool. Back when I went to college in Oshkosh it was a car dealership. Now it's a wedding venue with a lot of old fashioned style. Great for wedding pictures! The planners and employees of the venue were very professional and helpful. Had no problems at all. If you are going to have your wedding or party here, here are some things to be prepared for. Parking. There is a paid parking lot attached to the venue. However parking is free for guests. The problem is that most don't know until after they paid! (There are parking passes located inside the door of the venue). Make sure to tell your guest if you can! Farmers Market. On Saturdays in summer there is a farmers market until 12:30pm, but in our case Main St did not re-open until about 1:30. So some out of town guest had a rough time finding the place. (Wedding was at 2pm). Noise. The venue is basically an open hall so it is a little noisy during the "happy hour" and other open conversation times, but the sound systems worked very well and everybody could hear well during speeches. Hotels. Closest hotel is about six blocks away. But fills up because it's attached to a convention center... so book early! Process. If you plan on getting married at this location be aware that you will have to leave for a while so they can get the venue reset for the meal and party. We all went to a fun bar across the street and then came back and couple of hours later. Fun day for my family and friends. Very happy with the venue.

Great wedding venue. Somewhat limited by size and acoustics. The staff does a great job of…read morequickly converting the spaces. Wedding, cocktails, dinner, and dancing all in the same space. It has a front parlor which is a bit quieter. Nice beer and spirits selection. Adjacent free parking. Beautiful building.

We attended an event here. I understood when they asked me to take my purse back to my car but when…read morethey would not let me bring in an empty water bottle it seemed a bit much. I went to another event at a different venue where I was not allowed to have my water either and later after that passed out due to dehydration and blood pressure issues. I do explain this that I'm a disabled veteran and sometimes need things that help. Buying a four dollar water makes me feel that I cannot drink it and I still can become dehydrated )not having water bring on anxiety after being deployed.) I was told I cannot bring it in and had to take it back to the cars as well. Then I walked through and the person in front of me gets to bring a backpack in because it's considered the diaper bag. I was told to put my water in a medical bag and they would mark it as such. I find it interesting in the military, i was allowed a m16 loaded with me at all times, including briefing daily out 3 star general, sectary of defense for the country, and the president, but i can't bring a water bottle to battle through the injuries i endured protecting the country.

3 stars for the herd game. 0 stars for the food. Absolutely the worst food we have ever had out…read more Now I expect game food but the brats were more like hot dogs and the burger was so over cooked it was not edible. We settled for a pretzel after the let down. Again, rock hard. If you enjoy a game, stick to the game and drinks. Save your money!

My family and decided to come in for a late night arcade night!…read more We decided to forgo the food- can't make a comment on that. Although, my mom is gluten free and we know she doesn't have many options here. The game room is clean and well kept. The machines were all functional and we had a great time playing games. The prizes aren't always too great, but it's a fun time regardless! The service workers are always kind in the prize room, but we typically don't seem many employees on the floor!

There are a LOT of…read moreoptions on this menu and it seems to be one of those places where because there is so much, it's hard to do everything well. I tried the mineshaft club and it was an average sandwich, the same could be said for the burger and salad order by coworkers. Nothing special. The fries and cheese curds were crispy, but the saving grace was the bottomless root beer float. There is overall just a lot going on in this establishment, the decor is on theme for a minute shaft but for the place being rather empty our server was rushed anything she was at our table. We also walked through the arcade and most games, when translating the credit to dollar cost, average about $2.50 a play. Because of that, we opted not to play as everything was very ticket or prize centered with nothing seeming like it was affordable and meant just to play for fun.
