Abby should get five stars for accounting and five stars for service and personable interaction as well. Fast Forward to a couple of weeks ago. I was so happy with my first H and R Block experience that I visited again...... bad move. The thing that I didn't realize is my taxes are a little more complicated from a year ago. I am filing jointly with my wife, I moved to another state, I have a 401K, a HSA, etc. With each complicated task, you get charged more money. I left H and R block with a 400 dollar bill! The crooked thing is that they don't tell you your total till after you are done completing your filling. After sitting there for 2 hours I didn't have the patience left to say "Never mind, I'll go somewhere else".I left angry that some of my wonderful tax return would have to go back to H and R Block. Especially considering I don't have any idea what the heck they did. I watched the guy hit the buttons..... it looked like something I could have done from home! Next year its all about Turbo Tax. If you are single, then H and R Block is great, but if you have difficult taxes I would consider finding another alternative.

I don't even remember how i came across E D Johnson and his tax services but I called him and we set up a meeting. Once we sat down and he reviewed my W2's, what i was pulling in as income/giving the IRS in tax money every year and the fact that i was married to a woman who was dependent on me because she didn't work, he was borderline offended by my previous returns. He immediately took on my case - for a very reasonable fee i might add - and told me he'd make it right. He wasn't kidding. When we got our tax refund we called him and told him there must be a mistake or something. He had more than tripled the refund i got one year prior! And mine is a relatively simple case. I can't even imagine what he could do for people with higher incomes/kids/home businesses, etc. It watching a magician pull a rabbit out of a hat. This past year was a rough one for me...wife doesn't work and I lost my job and pulled in like half of what I usually get in regular income. After going over all the specifics of my layoff, and the fact that I had to plunder my 401k just to put food on the table I was expecting to actually owe money to the IRS. But nope, E D calls me back and says the IRS actually owes me 30% more than last year! I don't even have the words to express how grateful I am. But I did create a new nickname for E D, he's "The Magician". Never again will I trust the idiots at turbo tax again. I cannot recommend this guy enough. I can post pictures of the signature portion of the return if anyone wants proof. They did a good job when all they had to do was copy and paste. Now that I have questions?
