DON"T WASTE YOUT TIME & MONEY! This man is only out to get a paycheck. He hires anyone and everyone with no experience to go beat and bang pieces of wood together and doesn't even pay the ones who actually do a good job. He hires people to do labor only and then makes THEM pay for the supplies, for the job, that HE has already been PAID for! He leaves trash all over job sites and never cleans it up. I have photo evidence in texts, where he is sending beyond rude messages, talking to us like he is so privileged and better than everyone. I also have photos, taken on my phone, where there's huge holes dug up at his job- a residential site, that took him 4 months to even get halfway through, by the way. They didn't even clean the dirt up, from the footers that they dug and left huge holes all over, killing the grass in the homeowners beautiful yard! The actual home owners were so nice and just being taken advantage of... I know them, personally, and they were handing out check after check with no progress, nor decent work being done! Nobody had used a level, that was *very clear.* Nothing was the same measurement and it looked so terrible, It was embarrassing! The homeowners who were using him, ended up meeting someone else, who worked twice as fast and was 100x more accurate and did great work and afterwards, they swore to never hiring this man EVER again. I'm not the one to try to bring a business down, nor even leave reviews, but this man needs to be exposed for the FRAUD that he is. He doesn't deserve the money that he's taken from innocent people, who just need something done, that will match up to safety standards, at the least, only getting left with huge piles of trash in their yard and janky work done, looking worse than it did before they began! On top of that, have been robbed of a huge chunk of money, by a con artist such as James welch. I wouldn't doubt if half of these ratings, are his family and good friends, trying to make him seem legitimate. Beware of this back alley, shady, nothing getting done right, only taking your money, business. HE'S ONLY OUT FOR YOUR MONEY AND WILL NOT MEET DEADLINES! Just go look on Google and YELP and see what those people have to say about his work, only to have him reply back, blaming his terrible work and unacceptably long timing (a year) all on his own client and calling him poor and then brings up his illegal citizenship and throws it in his face... racist are we? He stays on top of the reviews and reports them all the time, so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets them taken down. Like I said, please beware of people like this disgusting monster, James Welch. Justin Welch and his crew renovated two small bathrooms in a Boston condo for us. We met once at the condo, went over the details of the project and we left. From a distance, I was able to make tentative selections of materials and send them to Justin for approval in advance, thereby avoiding problems and do-overs. Justin and Justin Oates, his superintendent, took over and handled all aspects of the project - including coordinating deliveries, which was no small task. Justin communicated daily with updates and photos, raising and resolving issues as they came up. He was always very professional, responsive and thorough. Although this was a small job for them, Justin always made me feel like this was the only job he was working on. Construction is a messy, complicated and often unpredictable process. Our project was a major remodel of a 1900's building with a 1960's wraparound addition that had several poorly done 'upgrades' along the way. No one could ever know what was waiting for us once the walls, ceilings and floors were opened up. From the initial proposal and all through construction, the team at JJ Welch clearly communicated a realistic budget, pointed out where the "unknowns" would likely be and what the potential impact may be. At every step, they were extremely responsive and available. When the unknowns became known, they helped guide us through the options and always pushed for the best value solution without losing the integrity of the final project. I hired JJ Welch to build my fitness studio -- and I'm very happy I did. I worked mainly with Justin, whom I found very responsive and respectful. Prior to choosing JJ Welch, I met with several contractors who I felt did not honor my opinion. I never felt like this with Justin -- he always listened to me and respected my thoughts and ideas. The project went very smoothly, was completely on time and was right on budget. There were also very few change orders. Since the project finished 3 months ago, a few things have needed to be fixed, and Justin continues to be communicative, prompt and helpful. Can't speak highly enough about Justin and the rest of his crew. The two things you always worry about with contractors are their communication and whether they stick to their timelines. Justin and his site manager, Joel, gave me nothing to worry about. Their communication was excellent. If I ever had to speak with them they would either pick up their phones right away or call me back with 15 minutes. In terms of schedule, not only did they finish on time but they would have been ahead of schedule if had not been for a small permitting issue that came up out of the blue.
