She is absolutely not happy at all with her haircut. It is WAY shorter than what was asked for. All she wanted to do was to be able to put her hair into a ponytail braid. While yes, she can scoop her hair into a ponytail it BARELY is able to. There's no way to braid it. The hair is uneven and choppy. This wasn't miscommunication. I very clearly showed what she wanted and where she wanted it cut. Between the hair dresser saying "it's just a couple inches" and this lame response of "well she can put it into a ponytail like she wanted to", and not receiving a call back from the manager. she has been so sad about her hair...just a terrible way to treat a 14 year old. read more

Would give a zero star if I could - NEVER GOING BACK again. If you want to go to a place which even remotely cares about you as a client, you care about not sitting next to sick infected individuals - pls dont go here. I got sick with covid and strep throat hence did not want to infect the stylist therefore called the salon 2 times within the 24 hr cancellation policy with no reply, also on the day of the appointment, I called them and left a message at 9:30 with no response and called again to change my appointment. Even after I wanted to schedule my appointment this same week - they charged me a cancellation fee - even though this was to protect their providers, and fellow customers- when I could have shown up sick and no one would have known. Their manager did not care 1% about their people nor the customer. When my card on file declined - they texted me to get another card to again charge me (which I could have v well ignored) - I still called them back to put the correct card on file just because I am not as inconsiderate as them. Had converstions with Savannah - their Receptionist and per her the manager did not take any of my words into consideration. Clearly management does not care about welcomeing sick clients and getting their staff sick ! read more

Samantha has colored my hair twice now. She listens well and isn't afraid to add her own ideas. Lots of energy and such a pleasant individual. I am 53 and pretty much all gray. I have had issues in the past finding a color that will infiltrate the gray and blend with the rest of my dark brown hair. I have been a regular at this salon in the last 2 years or so. I have mostly had hair cuts here and have been mostly satisfied with their service. This review is for the balayage service that I had about 10 days back. I have had hair color , balayage done before so I know I'm not allergic to the color. This time around after the service by the evening I had burning sensation around my face and ears. By night I had broken into rashes around my face. I called them the next day to check if there is something they could do. I hear back a few hours later and they basically asked me to go check with the doctor what's happening and they aren't sure. This is not what I would expect from a salon where I have paid 300 dollars in services and Tip. They never called back to check if the allergy has gotten better or if there is anything else they could do. I had to take anti allergy medicines and it took 3/4 days for the allergy to subside and this was painful. I don't expect such service especially when I'm paying premium price. I don't want to take names so I'm not giving out my stylist's name as I don't want to just blame her.But after my experience here I will never return to this place. read more

I found this salon online and made an appointment easily the evening before. Got a confirmation the next morning and was set to meet with Karen. Let me tell you that she is an expert at hair. Mine is incredibly wild and with the help of their amazing line of conditioners and shampoos and her expertise, I walked out looking like a million bucks. My hair is beautiful! I highly recommend this beautiful salon. They are incredibly careful with Covid precautions, I felt totally safe. And not to leave this part out, but the chairs at the washing station are massage chairs. I kid you not when I tell you that between the head massage that I got and the chair massage at the same time, I almost passed out. I have never felt like I was at a spa before when getting my hair blown out and sell the salon. Go just for that. I can't speak about any any other other services, but Karen's blowouts and head massages are AMAZING. I will be back as soon as I'm back in Boston! Thank you so much! read more

From an easy booking, to the professionalism and kindness shown by Karen, the stylist, to my haircut, it all couldn't have been more perfect. Karen isn't just a stylist, she's an artist. I'm only giving this salon a rating from a phone conversation and not an actual visit. I called to schedule a haircut for my daughter. The receptionist didn't seem thrilled to be working. After taking my name and number down she asked for a credit card to be put on file. I wasn't comfortable with that so I asked her if they accept walkins. She said yes. When I told her I would just go that route she rudely said, "so you don't want to make the appointment?" I told her no and thanked her for her time. Her response? "Yep." And then hung up. If that's the professionalism of the staff I'm sure I'm much better off taking my business elsewhere. read more

Really bad experience. First, the hairdresser was not very friendly and never introduced herself. Then she cut more hair than I wanted and thinned it out quite a bit, which I did not ask for. The face framing pieces are very choppy and do not look good. The worst part, however my hair was cut, the ends of it feel extremely pointy and pokey on my skin. I've had to wear my hair up the past several days to avoid it constantly poking and itching my neck. I've never experienced this before with a haircut, and have washed my hair 3 times since in hopes it would help, but it hasn't. read more

I went here after receiving a 25% off coupon and recently moving to Burlington. I have been wanting to find a salon close to where I live that does a great job. I went to Amanda and at first really did not like the way my hair turned out. She brought me back in the next day, color corrected everything, and didn't charge me a penny more. I think everyone makes mistakes in this business, but being able to stand behind your work until it's done right really speaks to the character of the professional. i changed to this salon after paying over 300 dollars for cuts/colors at a nearby salon that is going downhill. After my last bad experience with burned scalp and singed hair, i went to James Joseph. Most of the stylists seem young, but don't let that deter you. Great cut, hair in best condition ever. Great cut and products. with my color, deep conditioning, cut and 2 products, i still paid less than other overpriced salons. Oh, and the products that they carry - some are natural, cruelty free and use recycled ocean plastics- hows that :-) I went to Bianca - and she is fabulous. Updated review 07/29/18: Was able to sneak in and make an appointment with Samantha Thorne for a wash, cut, and blow dry. She gave me exactly what I was looking for and I'm so pleased with my cut and layers. Normally it takes a few weeks before I like what I see and my hair settles down. This time I was able to curl my hair when I got home and see all my lush layers. Even my husband commented on how gorgeous my hair looks. Will be returning to Samantha-she's my new favorite! I've never left a haircut feeling so annoyed and let down. $55 for a 10 minute men's buzz cut. Did not do a neck shave, did not trim eyebrows, did not trim sideburns, did not even use the appropriate size blades I asked for. Men beware, this place is not for you if you're expecting any of the above. If you're going to charge 3x what everyone else charges for a men's haircut, do the BASIC things they do everywhere else. I couldn't be more disappointed and insulted with this haircut. I'll be going to my normal salon tomorrow for a proper haircut. read more

She listened, gave me some advice and I left with a great cut and really satisfied. I won't say how old I am, except that I'm over 40. There was a young woman (20ish) leaving with a great cut when I was coming in. Both of us got what we wanted. I highly recommend for all ages. This salon is awesome. I go to Emma for highlights and cuts, and Amanda for hair extensions. Both stylists are knowledgeable and passionate about hair- and it shows! You will leave the salon feeling and looking great. Emma is an amazing colorist. She was able to restore my poorly colored mousey-brown hair to a vibrant icy blonde. She knows what will look good and she will tell you if something is a bad idea, and I trust her. Amanda is also great- she installed microbead extensions in a few quick hours. They look flawless! My experience with Karen was so amazing I don't even know where to begin! My hair was a mess when I walked in. I hadn't been to a salon in 9 months because I was trying to get my hair back to a healthier state. My hair was falling out like crazy after my son was born so I thought if I did anything to my hair it would get worse. I was super blonde before growing it out so my roots were pretty bad. For a short period of time I was pulling off a balayage type of look but reached a point where it was apparent I hadn't gotten my hair done in a long time. My hair length was all over the place from damage that occurred somewhere along my previous hair journey. I went in asking for balayage but after consulting with Karen who listened and really understood what I wanted I left with a full foil. This was definitely the right choice for me! We also decided to chop my hair which completely fixed my shedding issue! As it turns out the shedding wasn't from postpartum shedding it was from my hair being so unhealthy. Karen also used olaplex, I got a glaze on my hair and she styled me on top of the full foil and cut. The price I paid was absolutely reasonable and 100% worth the service I received! It's been two weeks since I got my hair done and I'm still getting daily compliments on it. I love this salon! I was also paying attention to the other stylists and can confirm they are equally as talented and experienced. I also liked that the salon encourages the stylists to stay up to date with training, education and the newest trends. The other clients in the salon all left happy and looked great. I am still biased to Karen because she made me feel like a whole new woman! I totally look forward to seeing her again! read more
