We made our decision and gave Kate our deposit that very day, confident that we'd made the right choice for our photographer. It is important to note that, from this first meeting, Kate told us: The price for the package that we chose We would have full ownership of all the photographs that would be taken during our wedding We would get all our pictures 4-6 weeks after our ceremony We would receive 10-12 edited or touched up pictures, chosen from all the pictures, these would be the ones that they felt really 'popped' As our wedding approached, we received, signed and returned our contract, we met at our venue a week prior to the wedding and discussed specific shots, locations, etc. with Kate and when we parted ways, we were sure that we made the right choice in photographers. The day of our wedding, Kate and her assistant were all over the place, snapping picture after picture. Our sense was that they got all the shots that we asked for and in the locations that we asked. Later that night, we got a preview of 2 of the pictures when she posted them to her business' Facebook page. That was the last we would hear from Kate until 39 days later (3 days short of 6 weeks) when my wife sent an email asking when we would get a chance to see our pictures: "Hi Kate, I hope all is well with you! We were wondering when we would get the chance to look at our wedding pictures from 6/11? It's been almost 6 weeks and we are dying to see them! Please let me know when you get a chance. Talk to you soon! Thanks" Kate replied later that evening with: "Hi! Yes! I will be mailing them out in the next 10 days or so :) I'll be sure to send you the link to the gallery too!" 21 days passed and no attempt at communication was made by Kate, so I sent an email: "Kate, When can we expect our pictures? -M" It took a day for her to respond but when she did, we received this excuse: "Hi! I am so sorry for the delay - and my horrible communication the last 2 weeks. My time frame went from 1 month editing to 2 months time - which puts us at today. :) I will have a link to a gallery tonight for you - when I arrive home. And I will be providing tracking by Monday for your flash drive of photos! Again - terribly sorry for the delay on my part! Talk to you soon! :)" This was the first time we'd heard from Kate and she tried to laugh off a 4 week change to the schedule with no advanced warning or communication. She missed that fact that it had been 3 weeks, not 2 since she made her first empty promise. Her cavalier attitude was off-putting but we really wanted our pictures so we waited to see what she would do. Later that night, we received an email with a link to a Google Drive containing our photos. The first thing we noted was the woefully small number of pictures. Then, we saw that there were only 3 files that weren't time-stamped with the date of our wedding, indicating that there were only 3 files that might have been edited. Over the next 2 days, 6 emails were exchanged concerning the lack of quantity of pictures and the lack of specific pictures that we knew were taken. When all was said and done, we received roughly 850 photographs and none of the promised 'edited' or 'touched up' photos. If any of these photos were touched up, we couldn't tell and the time stamps all either matched the date of the wedding or the date of the uploads, there was no evidence of any sort of artistic retouching of any of them, except for one image that was, again, posted on her business' Facebook page. The pictures of our family have the subjects looking at different cameras. Kate and her assistant stood next to each other during these pictures, ostensibly to maximize the number of pictures. The end result are lots of pictures that are useless because the subjects were never told where to look by the photographers. This shows a distinct lack of experience and attention to detail, the latter of which should be a photographers number one trait. We never received the promised tracking number OR the actual flash drive itself. We have no idea if we have all our photos, we have no idea what the status of the drive is, and truthfully, at this point, we have given up the hope that we will. In fact, at this point, 81 days (11.5 weeks) later, TWICE what we were promised, I don't want to hear any more excuses or lies from Kate. Kate has shown that her business ethics and acumen are severely lacking. She took our money and only delivered on some of her promises when directly confronted and prompted. Even then, she made promises that she failed to follow through on. I am disappointed that we invested in Kate and trusted her to deliver. I am offended that she explained away a 4 week slip in schedule and lack of communication with a dismissive smiley face. That nonc

What do you want to pay for when you choose a wedding photographer? The cost is generally the same…read morewhere ever you go $2700-$3500 and up but usually not down. I guess what comes standard is the wedding party pics, bride and groom, family etc. The shots are usually done by a photographer that has shot the same photos for every customer over and over again. For an artist/photographer that type of repetitious drudgery is soul squashing. Which means your photos won't have much gusto to them. My wife picked Ryan after requesting to her uncle, a professional photographer, that she wanted someone to shoot "edgy candids" Ryan over delivered in every regard. He immersed himself into the characters of the day and shot great portraits of everyone at the wedding. He was humorus and just about everywhere shooting his stylistic pictures. After I posted a bunch of his shots pn facebook, we received a flood of compliments on his work. We ended up with nearly 1400 shots, a wedding photo album, the images on CD all within 3 weeks post-wedding. They had previsouly been posted on his website shortly after the wedding. I had never met Ryan before the wedding and neither had Alycia but he happily devoted his day (missing a big NHL game that he would of been paid more money to photograph). I can't recommend Ryan highly enough.

My fiancé and I needed to relocate due to the pandemic as well because he is a frontline healthcare worker. My venue and almost all of my vendors refunded us our "non refundable" deposits - one was even $10,000! Other vendors gave half of the deposit back, understanding our loss and trying to negotiate an outcome that would be mutually beneficial. We paid Pasha a "non refundable" deposit which was close to $1,400. Pasha refused to refund our deposit or offer even a partial refund. Emails were not returned, and his tone was offensive - explaining that deposits are non refundable so that couples do not "back out of the contract". A global pandemic forcing a wedding cancellation is not "backing out". This is a poor business model, especially given the current pandemic climate and dealing with weddings. I have already told all of my Boston friends who are looking for a wedding photographer to avoid this greedy and shady business! Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life - don't trust it in the hands of this guy who has made it clear that his primary interest is only money. Also - to make it clear, there was no work done on his part to necessitate this almost $1,400 fee. We had a handful of brief phone conversations and exchange of text messages/emails. We did not meet in person, he never saw our venue or did any sort of walk through. Don't let my loss become yours next!

His combination of creativity, unique viewpoints, bravery (snowstorm!) and talent is what you want. You'll smile while going through your pics. And that's all that needs to be said. But if you're staying for the details......Alright, let's do this: We learned a few things from Pasha, Mark and Taylor while they were snapping pics at our wedding. One -- we kiss a lot, but that's beside the point. Two - taking the time to get the small details the way you want them (I mean really putting in the effort) was worth it. And three -- we have a lot of people that love us. We now have pictures to prove it all. Nothing like catching someone smiling at you when they think no one's looking (except Pasha -- he knows, he's there for the shot). Nothing like going through your wedding photos and seeing a snap of someone writing "stay weird!" in your guestbook, or getting to retell the story of why your wedding dress has a tiny unicorn hanging from it (we got that shot too). Nothing like the smirk you get when you see that your photographer noticed the little bride-and-groom mice statues you hid inside your pastry tower. He got the special lining of the suit, he got the calligraphy on the signs, his shots show the fire in the opal and beauty of the ring its on. We got to see a million moments we didn't notice the first time around. Okay, okay. The details are captured. What about the photography? I said creative, unique, brave and talented, right? We were gasping when we hit those photos of us outside in the snow. You know how when you dream of a winter wedding you imagine snow? Yeah, we got snow....And snow is cold. But Pasha braved the storm (literal storm!) and got out there with us. This guy grabs his assistant, leads the way with his awesomely groomed viking beard and goes to work on absolutely killing the shots. They're crazy good! That's brave. So now we get to relive the feeling of snowflakes landing on us forever. We even have the cozy moment of the groomsmen playing human shield to keep the bridesmaid's warm and dry (his idea to keep them warm, btw, while me and the new Mrs. were taking more pics -- oops!). Pasha took the time to meet with us before the wedding to make sure we understood his style and that he understood ours. Everything was comfortable and friendly, and that set the tone for the wedding. He and his team just became part of the bridal party for the "getting ready" pics -- never an awkward moment. Then they hit the wedding party and became family. That's what you call people that care about your happiness and help you make the most of a special day, right? It's important to mention we didn't have to point out the details. Not all of them, at least, not by a longshot. They got the snaps anyway. That tells me they were paying attention, absorbing the details, respecting the effort, noticing the happiness of our guests and enjoying themselves. It's awesome when your photographers are part of all the warmth. That's talent. ....Well, that and making everyone on the dance floor look like they had swag to spare. Bottom line? We feel like everything got captured. Not just the people and deco, but the mood of the whole day and night. Top quality and resolution obviously. The only complaint I have is that his beard was cooler than mine. Forget the posing and planning every little shot. You want pictures that are YOU? Get someone that lives in the moment and knows how to capture them. Your pics will be amazing and a blast to go through. Five stars for Mr. Pasha Plugovoy and his team. Bravissimi! I am pretty sure we actually exceeded the amount of time specified in the contract and he never gave us a hard time about it (or anything). RELIABILITY/FOLLOW THROUGH: Excellent. Every time we asked Kevin to do something, he did it, exactly as we'd asked. The peace of mind of knowing we could count on him was wonderful on our wedding day. He adhered to our schedule, made sure to capture all of the photos we had planned to take, and respected our requests when certain people asked not to be photographed, etc. COST: You get what you pay for. We found his rates to be comparable to other photographers of his quality (actually, his rates were less than some others we felt were of equal quality). He also doesn't nickel and dime you, which is great. He's very up front about how much everything costs and doesn't deviate from that. If anything, he gives you more than you pay for (like the slideshow you can send to friends and family!). COMMUNICATION: Pretty good. Sometimes he takes a few days to reply to emails, but nothing beyond the realm of what's reasonable, and I was no better, so I can't complain. When we first met him this made me a little nervous (because I didn't yet know how reliable he is), so if you have this experience, definitely don't hold it against him. PERSONABLENESS/PROFESSIONALISM: Awesome. Kevin is an easy-going guy that we found ourselves very comfortable with from the get-go. We met with three different photographers after whittling down our list, and although we liked all three, we both knew that Kevin was our guy after talking to him. He is very respectful and did an outstanding job of being unobtrusive during the wedding--we hardly noticed him (or his assistant) at all. He also made us feel very at ease throughout the entire planning process. We loved working with Kevin and can't recommend him enough!
