Common sense !!! I left Allstate and came back to State Farm due to $$. Savings. Big Mistake !!! I have 2 properties, 2 vehicles. They wanted to inspect one of the properties. No problem or so I thought. Inspector found 2 shingles that were damaged. No worries, it was fixed. He also said there were limbs over the roof on the detached garage. A metal building, 2 garage doors. Simple enough. All issues were resolved. Turns out this Idiot was talking about an old shack that has a massive oak tree growing through it. It's about to fall over. It's uninsurable to say the least !!! They canceled my coverage on my Hill Country Residence due to an Idiot Inspector. When I spoke to him on the phone, his speech was slurred. I should have told him to get off my property and wait for me to be there. I didn't. It took an act of God to get State Farm to realize their mistake based on the information from an Idiot Inspection !!! A few days later I get a check in the mail for my cancellation. I paid it for a year. I take the check to the agent's office to return it. They wouldn't take it. They said I had to deposit it and then pay em again !!! I did. I paid it for six months. I'll be moving all of my insurance to USAA or anybody besides State Farm. But Wait !!!that's not all. Both vehicles have this drive safe beacon. They track your driving etc etc. You get a discount. Ok, I'm in. One of the beacons was defective. It took an act of Congress to get my agent to order us a replacement. It finally arrived. I downloaded it, and it's working fine. Today I get a text message saying I owe them $21.00 for not using one of the beacons. I sent a message saying telling them where they can stick that $21.00 !!! State Farm is not a good neighbor !!!! Ever since coming back to the James Pearson Agency, my life has been through pure hell. They send an old wino out to inspect my property. He tells the company that I am trying to pull a scam by trying to insure a rickety old shed instead of the new metal building that is my garage.. the garage wasn't 65 feet right in front of your eyes. Unbelievable !!! This is the most messed up agency I have ever seen in my life. State Farm is just as bad !!! I hope I never need them because I know already what will happen. Paid in full for my policy and it was cancelled. They said I did not have an immobilzer on my vehicle (Hyundai) although I showed proof TWICE. I also attached a photo of how I lock my vehicle with two steering wheel locks. The underwriters said that that was not sufficient although a little more research on their part would show that an immobilizer was indeed installed. So instead of insuring my vehicle, they punish me, the customer, who did nothing wrong. And this agency was useless. BBB review was sent, as well as emails to the exec team will be coming (I can find anything) so I can express my disgust. I am sure it will not yield any results because State Farm is useless but at least I will be able to get the frustration off my chest. Being punished for buying a car is insane. I legally have to have insurance. I paid my part and followed directions and here I am. The corporate greed is insane. Furthermore, after I sent my proof I did not receive a response, I had to follow up and I was notified by text that my policy will be cancelled. I cannot believe people are allowed to be treated this way when they did nothing wrong. Shame on State Farm and any other business who does this. read more

I recently bought a house. I called around to get quotes for home insurance. If you've done this, you know it's not fun. A friend referred me to Tammy Comeuax. She was helpful knowledgeable and friendly. It was like talking to a good friend. She handled everything for me and even saved me a lot of money on my auto insurance! I can't thank her enough for all of her help. Buying a house is stressful and she went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and that I had everything I needed. By far and away the absolute worst experience of my life with a problem at home. I've had insurance through State Farm in New Jersey and now Texas but have never had to file a claim. Today, I had to drive 260 miles one way for work and in the house I'm renting, the chandelier fell, it pierced a hole in my table, cracked my iPad and landed on my MacBook. Luckily, the computer doesn't appear damaged. When I called at 12:00 o'clock they provided a claim number. I told them I was far away from home and have a non verbal autistic daughter. Now that exposed wiring is present with glass I don't know if I can clean up or what I should do. The sun has set on the day and an adjuster did not come. When I purchased the insurance, they told me they would be there day or night and that "if my house was on fire, someone would be dispatched before it was extinguished writing a check up to $10,000 so I don't need to use my own money." After 5 hours had passed and I was driving home, I called the man they said would call me. I left him a voicemail stating my concerns professionally but concerned. He returned my call to be beyond rude. He interrupted me, raised his voice and belittled me. His name is Jay Peterson and his number is (972)657-3868. I was in a retail store when he called to tell me my damage probably isn't covered because snow was not hanging on the chandelier or something didn't hit it causing it to fall. It appears to my untrained eye that the electrical box rusted out and that the screws both gave way. That would not be covered. After telling me how everything isn't covered but they'll see what they can do, I decided I'd rather pay for the damage than meet this individual. Tomorrow a supervisor will call (I'm told) but the end result will be the same. He was rude, arrogant and obnoxious. I'm well aware this review doesn't help my chances of payment but let the buyer beware. I would not do business with them again and I'll seek a refund for the remaining months I've paid and go to a more reputable company. There seem to be many with good reviews and a lot of negative on State Farm. I should have researched better. You cover the contents of your home while renting and something like a 36 pound chandelier falls and they are already telling me why it won't be covered. The man I spoke with after hours was professional and kind but it doesn't change the fact that like a good neighbor they aren't here. I took the chandelier off of my destroyed table so my kids do not get hurt. If they don't have another adjuster to ultimately turn me down, I'll suck it up and pay for the damage myself. I wouldn't give State Farm a star but the app makes you give something. It will be at least 24-30 hours before they come out as Jay indicated he has a 4 hour appointment at 9am and will call to see if I can meet sometime after that. If that's the service you want, this is your company. For me, I need to be treated with respect, without someone raising their voice to me and without someone behaving like a control freak. So, the adjuster was likely having a very bad day as was I. He actually owned the things said and how he spoke and apologized. In my book, that takes a big man to not call me a liar and try to save face. Instead, he saved a customer and I was happy to have him in my home after he had apologized. We all have off days and it seems corporate had set my expectations high and as a field employee for another company, I understand the stress and what he must have been through.
