Hand making shotguns since 1814 this master craftsman store has on display guns well over the £100,000 range. Although obviously not in their customer base but still a gun owner I was made welcome and had a great tour of the store and talk about guns and hunting with 2 of the guys in suits on the showroom floor. The store is full of historic guns and tools of the trade. I really wish there was some accessory I could bring myself to buy. But a shotgun is the only type of gun I do not own. read more

It's just something that you would pass on as an inheritance. Purchasing any item that is branded Purdey, whether it's a shirt or tie, with the Purdey label, or just anything is basically an item for life. We Made a special stop at James Purdey and Sons today. Their shotguns are some that do not need to be reviewed, they are the top in the world. I hope to own one someday. I have a collection of American Shotguns but none are in the same class, but they still allow me to run 25 in a row. I was treated with much respect, while I admired their shop. I bought a couple of items and afterwards the salesman gave me pointers on the other gun shops. We did not have time to view them, but I would of liked to have. Very nice area not far from the Austin Martin Dealership and the BMW dealership just around the corner from the Hilton, a Esso gas station on Park Lane and Near the Memorial for the animals killed in the wars. Again a very nice shop, with well trained polite salesmen who gave you space to admire their stock. read more
