Funny thing is it was a Sunday, we were driving around looking at properties from the outside using the Zillow app. We finally worked up the courage to make a call to see a property on the inside (no agent at the time). We did try a few agents before we got to her, none of them were answering our calls or returning our messages. Until she answered immediately! Well we were impressed at how responsive she was to our call and on a Sunday afternoon non the less! She jumped right in offering all kinds of professional help and experienced guidance. Emailing us with all the listings and helpful information she had for us. Booking appointments of properties for us to see and when we finally found the home we fell in love with, she was amazing at helping us negotiate an awesome deal! We could not have been more pleased! We really doubt that any other agent would have put in all the time, work, dedication and effort that she did! A hard working professional in every aspect! We truly felt lucky to have found her and doubt that anyone else would've helped us achieve the awesome deal we got thanks to her! Bo, on the other hand bent over backwards to accomodate our hectic work schedules and to meet us on the days that worked for us to see homes. Not only was Bo friendly, he is also very knowledgable of the current market and gave us great tips and things to think about. Bo was involved in every portion of us buying the home and even would check in while we were waiting to close just to see if we had any questions. If you are looking for an outstanding realtor who works for you, I would highly recommend Bo West.

Israel Ballesteros, a real estate agent with Remax Horizon in Elgin, IL was extremely difficult to…read morework with. After days of "working the numbers" his buyer placed an offer on our property which we promptly countered, but Mr. Ballesteros was very unprofessional during attempted negotiations by ignoring numerous messages. He was totally non-responsive to our agent for several days at a time. Meanwhile, we suspect there was also an offer placed on another property(s) since the buyer's own home would now be closing in two weeks, and although we had agreed to the terms, the one in hand was suddenly withdrawn because: "Something came up that they have their eyes on." It is highly questionable that an entirely new transaction could be completed in such a short time frame. . Placing an undisclosed second offer while ours was still in play is highly unethical. Pursuant to the Realtors Code of Ethics his actions appear to be in violation of its basic premise "to treat all parties honestly." Minimally, Mr. Ballesteros should review the Code of Ethics and attend a communications seminar. We reached out to both his manager and the owner of Remax Horizon with our concerns, but received no response from either of them. We would NOT recommend Israel Ballesteros or any interaction with Remax Horizon in Elgin, IL when there are so many agents and realtors out there with excellent communication skills, and certainly, higher standards of professionalism.

Unfortunately, life and schedules got in the way and I changed real estate agents last October. Jen contacted me when the listing popped up and was so personable and persuasive that I gave her the listing immediately. Obviously selling in the fourth quarter is challenging at best and downright impossible at worst. She made great suggestions and did her homework, keeping in touch with me on a regular basis and always prepared with recent sales and showings. After several potential contracts, my condo sold in January! In fact the deal occurred very rapidly. A cash deal that only took 2 weeks from acceptance to close. Jen led me smoothly through the process. What is even more amazing, we have never met face-to-face! She made this process effortless for me. Brava Jen! One small mix-up regarding keys, which was my fault as the seller, but we closed on a Friday and the keys were waiting for the Buyer on Saturday. In fact the building manager bent over backwards to help me make my oversite right. Sometimes I wish Buyer and Seller could contact each other directly. Putting it in context, the unit had been empty for almost a year as it had been under contract for 6 months, a situation which ultimately fell through at the last minute. During each step, he worked my attorney and another broker. What I didn't know was that he had done some pre-cleaning of the unit I purchased until it came out in the closing today when he dropped off the keys. My interactions with the office staff was equally positive. I had to provide two escrow checks (step one and 2) and in both cases, I was treated well. I liked the fun but professional atmosphere too. It seems like they really try to go out of their way to help clients. I know there's probably a gazillion brokers out their and I can't say I've got a lot of experience in real estate. But I can say working with Robert and the folks at Remax Edge was a really good one.

After reaching agreement on the term of the…read morelease and the monthly rental amount, I was asked to submit a rental application and pay a fee of $85.00 "in order to move forward." After doing so and submitting supporting documentation, I was informed that there was another applicant who offered "better lease terms" and that I was being given the option to outbid him/her. Regardless of the outcome of the bidding process, I was informed that my application fee would not be refunded. The bidding was never once mentioned until after my submission of the rental application.
