First of all, I was attracted to the restaurant by the amazing smell coming out of the kitchen. My husband and I weren't even that hungry so we only ordered a Pad See Ew with chicken to share. Secondly, they cooked it super fast - I think our meal was ready in basically five minutes. Given the fast preparation, I wasn't expecting much but what awaited me was the BEST Pad See Ew of my life - such robust and delicious flavor, the consistency of the noodles were perfect (not too hard and chewy but not over cooked to the point of being too soft). There's nothing that shows off good cooking as much as doing a simple, classic dish really really well. We enjoyed our order so much that we went back and ordered a second one (this time with beef). Again, the food came very fast even though by this time, the line has gotten pretty long and the sitting area is basically full of their customers. But you SEE, everyone must know this is the best place to get fast, cheap, and delicious food at the Sydney Airport. Staff are quick and attentive, making it a great takeaway dinner option. The area where Thai Pothong is located is a bit of ways from downtown. It feels more Australian, if you will. One, it's pretty spacious, clean yet felt like home. Decent amount of traffic in there but they move efficiently. And the service was excellent. Friendly, informative and everything with a smile. I eat at Best Thai with a girlfriend every couple of weeks and although I've tasted her noodles I can never go past their amazing Tom Yum.
