In Dec 2016, I was going through an emotional meltdown after having 2 accidents back to back, a broken ankle, a boundary less life that was driving me knots, a sexual assault by my Father-In-law and deep seated emotional hurts from my childhood that constantly got me depressed. I had never seen a counselor/therapist before so I was very picky and did a lot of research. Right from my first meeting with Jamie, I felt very comfortable, zero judgement, I was free to bear my heart out to her and she diagnosed the root cause of my issues which was a life with no boundaries. I had the biggest light bulb moments I've ever had in my life during our sessions. I spent over a year with Jamie and each session was super refreshing. I looked forward to each session. She uncovered a lot of connections from my past that were affecting some of the decisions and choices I was making. It was mind-blowing. I am a stronger woman with firm boundaries because of Jamie's help. She helped me work through each childhood hurt that was causing me depression. With her support, I had multiple difficult conversations with those in my past who hurt me and with each conversation, I was able to forgive and move forward and I felt a huge boulder drop from my heart. I am happier, healthier, no depression spells, have a very strong sense of self because of my time in counseling/therapy with Jamie. I've been able to finally drop my victim bags and realize that I have a choice and I'm making positive choices every day to forgive, love, and think positive. Jamie has been an incredible resource helping my child and me navigate the teen age years into young adulthood. I strongly recommend her to you, as I have to my friends. When my child was a minor, Jamie did an excellent job keeping confidences but letting me know when and where I needed to be focusing my parental love and attention. My now adult child independently checks in with Jamie from time to time and knows that her conversations are completely confidential. As do I. Our shared faith is important to the dialog I have with Jamie. Jamie and my child have a close relationship as well but, from my child's perspective as a non-believer, their dialog is a more traditional therapy. It is hard to put in to words how much Jamie has helped me over the last 5 years. I started seeing her after a bad experience with another counselor/therapist. I was leery about seeing someone else, but am so glad I gave it a chance. On my first visit I felt so comfortable. She listened to me and took me seriously. I continued seeing her weekly for about a year. Sometimes I would be nervous about seeing her because I may not have heeded her advice, however, I was always comfortable enough to be open and honest with her at each visit. She NEVER judged me or became frustrated with me. Jamie is engaged throughout the entire session and remembers what you talk about the sessions before. She becomes invested in you. She let me come up with solutions and gave me the tools to work through situations in my life. When we got to a place where she and I were both comfortable, I was able to see her less frequently, but continued to feel her support. Booking appointments is very easy and she has several ways of visiting with her. I have had in person visits as well as phone visits. I have even been able to have emergency visits from time to time.
