DH told me later he was unsure about a seafood place in a strip mall (it's next to a branch of RBC), but this means there's lots of free and safe parking. Midweek lunch meant no reservation was necessary, even during high tourist season. Just inside the door is a list of the locations of the hundred or so purveyors of their oysters: It's impressive! We opted for small plates and a few side dishes. Everything was so well prepared! My oysters were plump, briny, and attractively plated on ice with lemon slices. A small bucket of jarred sauces rounded out the setting: Hot Jamaican, spicy mustard, Wostershire, and mignonette. On the platter was freshly grated horseradish, which had a five second delay before the heat kicked in! My husband had the lobster roll, which was crammed full of large pieces of lobster! It was the best we've ever had! We'll be back soon! Husb

The food menu is a little on the small side but they do have some nice selections. The portions are decent sized but don't expect a lot of food on your plate as most sides are billed separately. The food is prepared well and is very tasty. Our server was very nice and helpful.

Les Incompétents is a tiny, hidden gem in St. Catharines, ON, and absolutely worth seeking out. The…read morespace is intimate, so reservations are a must. Despite being busy, the experience never felt rushed; we were seated at the bar and felt genuinely well taken care of throughout the evening. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to guide us through the menu. This spot is perfect for date night or a chic weekend out with the girls. Menu highlights: Scallops Tare, Kewpie mayo, scallop-bacon nugget A unique and incredibly delicious first bite: rich, savoury, and memorable. Baked Oysters Vadouvan curry, crème fraîche, escargot While I love trying new dishes, this one would be a must-order every single visit. Absolutely outstanding. Secreto Frites Koji-marinated Ibérico pork, Café de Paris My first experience with this tender cut of pork, and it completely delivered. Each bite melted in your mouth. Pro tip: use the mountain of fries to scoop up the remaining sauce from the baked oyster (thank me later). Cocktails The Cocchi Americano and Wet Bandit Martini were delightful, playful, and paired beautifully with the food perfect for a celebratory girls' night toast. If you're looking for a small, thoughtfully curated dining experience with bold flavours and great energy, Les Incompétents deserves a spot at the top of your list.
