When my friend told me we were going to a Chinese restaurant in Saint Catherine, my first idea was that it should be a "traditional" Chinese restaurant in North America: Sweet and Sour pork, General Tso Chicken, Chow Mien, etc. I totally did not expect it to be a fancy, modern and authentic Cantonese style restaurant! The restaurant is surprisingly big and very clean. The theme colour is black, which makes the vibe elegant. I also think the dishes are tasty. Some of them were even creative. For example, the fried rice was in a pyramid shape. I don't think there are too many Chinese restaurants with that quality out there in St. Cathrine. So if you are around this area and happen to be craving some authentic Chinese food. You definitely have to come to this place!

Outstanding!! Atmosphere is beautiful.. perfect for date night, rehearsal dinner or even a night out with the ladies. Be sure to make a reservation so you're guaranteed a table! Food was incredible and tasted super authentic. Portions are huge, plenty to go around. Loved their bbq pork buns especially, will be back!

We discovered MA Chinese Cuisine after 2 days in Niagara Falls, Fallsview area. At this point I was deeply disappointed in every meal of our vacation. And then we had dinner at MA Chinese. This may have been the best Chinese food I've ever eaten. We're still raving about it 10 days later. I wish I could find Chinese food this good near me. The hot and sour soup was incredible. I'd love to have the recipe. Heck, I'd love all the recipes. Hong Kong green beans had a fantastic texture and were absolutely delicious. The Moo Shu Pork ... so yummy! Our server, Edward was extremely knowledgeable, very helpful and pleasant. The interior decor was comfortable and pretty darn cool. We loved everything about it.

First time at Ma's, surprised dim sum quality, same as Toronto China town's standard but minus 2 hours driving. Tasteful antique Chinese dinning room decor, definitely can have special family parties. Nice service from the waiter and General manager Lin, thanks ! Recommend Ma's to all my Buffalo friends.

Wow! An unexpected gem at St Catherine's on route to Niagara! The ambiance in this place was really unexpected given the exterior and surrounds but so glad we gave it a chance. It's very elegant and is definitely on the upper scale for Chinese cuisine. We ordered 2 lobsters ($55), duck combo which included the sliced duck with pancakes and a duck veggie stir fry ($88 for both), fried rice, chow mein, squid tentacles, and Chinese brocolli. We were WELL fed for a family for 5 and the bill just came around to ~$280 with tip. Every dish we had was just amazing and so priced so reasonably considering these were very special dishes. I will say, after glancing at some dim sum menu items, they were on the pricier side as they had presentation and such but can not speak to them as we didn't order. There are many options in Toronto for good cheap dim sum but if this is your only option in this area, might be worth a shot. Otherwise, I will definitely be coming back and paying another visit as everything was so well flavoured, portions were amazing, and no dish was left with any food to take back (it was just that tasty!)

Came here with my family and we were a pretty big group. I found the food to be pricey and was a bit salty. The service was okay, server was friendly and tried their best accommodating us especially since we ordered so many things at once. Maybe there's not many options in the Niagara region for Chinese cuisine but the overall impression was just okay.

Disappointed in the Xiaolongbao.. take off menu if you can't make them right

I decided to go to MA on a Monday thinking it would be slower than the weekend it was but barely. If your goal is to eat here with no plan B make reservations. I got it without a hitch but there were a lot of reservations on the docket. The ambience is excellent better than your average Chinese restaurant a little upscale just a little. The menu is extensive I started with the crispy teriyaki shrimp, hot and sour soup and an order of Xiao Long Bao. The crispy teriyaki shrimp were deep fried dumplings with shrimp. It was like shrimp siu mai that was coated and deep fried ... awesome! The hot and sour soup just like soul food! Made fresh with a perfect balance of vinegar and heat.. must have! The Xiao Long Bao was a let down an order of 4 for $9 was not only overpriced but not up to the standards of this menu. The dumpling was tough and doughy even the look of them was off putting. .. pass these at all cost! Now onto the mains I love the Shanghai noodles here as they are fresh noodles and excellently flavored. The cabbage it crisp to give great contrast to the chewy noodles. Superb! The next item I ordered on a whim.. Moo Shu chicken. It came with 6 small pancakes which are not enough as they give you some much food. Pro tip: order extra pancakes. The chicken and veg wax just awesome.. it was like making Chinese tacos with a drizzle of hoisin. Yum! The decor was great, service was good and the food was plentiful and I had to take some home. I made my own pancakes for the leftovers.

Excellent interior and gem for St Catharines. Food is top ingredients and clean. Costs more than ya might expect... such is life

WOW! This restaurant has perhaps some of the best Chinese food I have ever had in Ontario. Who would have thought, in St. Catharines of all places! I was thoroughly impressed with all the dishes I ordered from here - and I was even more impressed with how reasonably priced everything I ordered was. The interior is beautiful, and the overall ambiance is quite relaxed. Excellent service too, my server did a great job in recommending to me which dishes to order and not order. He was very friendly. I will say though, the food does take a while to come out, but that's the result of food that's prepared fresh. In other words, the wait is worth it! I'll definitely be back here the next time I'm in the St. Catharines area. I think this is the best restaurant in St. Catharines right here!

My aunt and uncle, and most of their friends it seems, come here often. It's a bit of an older crowd here, but still worth checking out. Though, make time for parking because it's street parking and there's not much of it close by. I got the soup d'jour which was potato and leek. It was yummy and comforting, especially on a cold and rainy day. The soup was savory and not over salted. My main course was fish and chips. The fish was plump, and the batter was crispy. The fries were on the softer side. I didn't try the cole slaw because I'm not a fan. Service was friendly. I would state that you should come here when you are not in a time crunch. Not that they're slow - I think the food came out in time. But you want to take the time to enjoy the food, views, and company. Lastly, the atmosphere is more on the quiet side, at least for Americans maybe (I guess I'm feeding into the stereotype but also I come from a loud family). So something to keep in mind when you're there.

Despite being busy, the experience never felt rushed; we were seated at the bar and felt genuinely well taken care of throughout the evening. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to guide us through the menu. This spot is perfect for date night or a chic weekend out with the girls. Menu highlights: Scallops Tare, Kewpie mayo, scallop-bacon nugget A unique and incredibly delicious first bite: rich, savoury, and memorable. Baked Oysters Vadouvan curry, crème fraîche, escargot While I love trying new dishes, this one would be a must-order every single visit. Absolutely outstanding. Secreto Frites Koji-marinated Ibérico pork, Café de Paris My first experience with this tender cut of pork, and it completely delivered. Each bite melted in your mouth. Pro tip: use the mountain of fries to scoop up the remaining sauce from the baked oyster (thank me later). Cocktails The Cocchi Americano and Wet Bandit Martini were delightful, playful, and paired beautifully with the food perfect for a celebratory girls' night toast. They are the same owners as Fat Rabbit, another elevated restaurant that is very popular. I ordered the following: 1. King of the World Mocktail ($12). 2. Salmon Trifle (half size, $14). 3 Secreto Frites ($48). 4. French Toast ($18). For solo diners like me, they gave a breadstick wrapped with raw tuna and dabs of wasabi, along with a few olives. This is a nice touch! I don't like wasabi but it wasn't too strong, so acceptable for me. The mocktail consists of Martini Floreale, Bergamot, Pear & Apple Soda. There is bitter and sweet in it. Quite good for a mocktail. The Salmon Trifle consists of Salmon mixed with Avocado, Cucumber, topped with Smoked Gribiche. It is served with a plate of chips. It is quite a good and unique tasting dish. It comes with a little spoon that you can use to scoop the salmon. You can even put it on the chips. The Secreto Frites is a Koji Marinated Iberico Pork. It is accompanied with a Cafe de Paris dipping sauce and very thin frites/fries. The sliced pork was perfectly cooked to medium rare. It was so moist and tender! There is a little bit of fat on some of the slices. The frites were good too. The French Toast, a dessert, very fluffy. It had lots of granulated pistachio on top. The Orange-Elderflower Anglaise sauce was divine! They opened Oct 2025). There is a Raw Bar where they serve all kinds of seafood, including seafood towers. The interior is darkened. There are tables, booths, and a tall long table. There is a full bar with bar counter seating. There is a standing area if you wish to only have drinks. Down a long corridor to the washroom, there are three mini stand up tables, where you can starts with drinks while waiting for a table. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are four gender-neutral washrooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking, which are free on weekends. Review 2025-253

The place looks like a home that was converted into a restaurant with parking in the back but once you enter, you feel like you are going into one of your Auntie's places for an actual home cooked meal. And they did not disappoint! Each dish was made to order and took a short time but you could tell it was prepared by a chef with a lot of experience and care--just looking at how the veggies were chopped/diced you can see they put their energy into each dish. The flavors were really superb and not at all overpowering and one major bonus--nothing was over salted or over oily as you might think typical Chinese food can get. Our party of 4 loved every bite and finished all our dishes, no leftovers. As you can see in the photos, they make an excellent meal. Prices are also very affordable and competitive with anything near the touristy areas. So if you want a solid, great meal prepared by a true mom & pop kitchen that feels like a home cooked meal, you really gotta try them out. I asked them how business was in summer vs winter and they said it's tough when it's winter (less tourists) but they make it work. It's also nice and quiet/intimate so you can have an actual conversation with your group rather than try to talk over some loud music at a chain restaurant! ----TL;DR---- Pros: excellent Chinese cuisine at very affordable prices and great portions. Not too salty or oily. And super nice, friendly owners who provide great service and great food. Cons: not easy to walk to from the main strip but if you have a car it's an easy drive. Skip the touristy places and come here! Bottom Line: it was the best meal we had in Niagara Falls and everyone was full and satisfied. I'd definitely go back again.
