Despite the stress of having a breech baby, and my own worst fears about the procedure, she made me feel safe and secure at each step of the process. On the day of the version, she helped both my husband and I feel at ease. The external version itself was nothing short of amazing. Dr. Haskins was incredibly skilled, and after a few very short, painless minutes, my little one was turned head down. I found the procedure to be very easy, and would absolutely ask Dr. Haskins to do it again if I ever have another breech baby. My husband and I were both very impressed and comforted by the precision, confidence, and care that Dr. Haskins showed during the version. Additionally, all the staff at Mercy Folsom were also incredibly kind and gave great attention to our care. Thanks to Dr. Haskins, I was able to have the natural, unmedicated birth of my daughter just a few short weeks later. Go home and try again in a few months." Wrong - one week later ended up in the hospital internally bleeding and requiring a STAT surgery! Did not catch my ectopic pregnancy, ended up in the ER despite her telling me everything was fine a week prior. She was the on call OBGYN at the ER and unlucky for me she could not save my tube and removed it completely!!! Lacks surgical experience. She should've had a higher index of suspicion due to cramping and bleeding I called complaining of multiple documented times. I even had 3 HCGs that plateaued so she should've known it was an ectopic!!! Highly recommending seeking an OBGYN with an MD license instead of her DO license no offense. If it's your baby you deserve the best. I suggest selecting an OBGYN who knows how to save tubes and has a fellowship as well. Kakar is very new in the field and that is not someone you want performing a surgery in case of complications. I would absolutely seek elsewhere.

The main reason for the poor rating of this doctor is due to lack of organization and patient consideration, over all poor communication skills and inconvenience. Every time I would call the office, there was a mistake with communication; whether it be from receptionist to nurse or nurse to doctor, there was always a setback that would take many calls back and forth taking days to get it straight! With this pregnancy I have been extremely nauseous with vomiting, not to mention two toddlers at home to look after. It took over 6 days of back and forth with the team and doctor to get my prescription refilled. I would call the office numerous times a day and each time I would have to re explain what was going on because the proper notes were not taken. Now that I moved, I'm going through the same thing with them just to get my prescription. It's been almost a week and I am waiting (calling regularly) for them to get back to me regarding my insurance approval. I get "I'll look into that and call you right back" and do not receive a call back. I asked to speak directly with Dr Kakar and the woman said yes I will go and get her now and she will call you right back. That was A WEEK AGO. Still no call. Extremely unprofessional and poor work ethic. I was excited to receive civilian care after my prior military care but after Dr Kakar, I would gladly go back to my military medical care in a heartbeat! At my last and final prenatal appt with Dr Kakar I came in for a suspected UTI. The nurse that took me back to check vitals and whatnot (a nurse that has seen me monthly) didn't even know I was pregnant...? With all of my pregnancies this was by far the most unorganized stressful experience and honestly just a plain hassle. I would NOT recommend Dr Kakar at all for an OBGYN if you want a pleasant, happy prenatal experience. I now know the importance of doing my homework before selecting an OB and am excited to have a new one after relocating.

If I recall correctly, Dr. Burke would order over 90 individual blood tests each year, track your progress and help you identify how to fix your results, naturally. Functional medicine. I had never heard of it prior to Dr. Burke and, apparently, it's still unheard of in SW Florida. If you are lucky enough to get to be her patient then you can look forward to being in good hands. I may move back to our home in California permanently just to be her patient. (If I can get in.) She is a treasure.

I messaged her through the portal to change the medication from cream to ointment but got no response. Eventually I showed up at her office and was told she wasn't in and they didn't know when she would be back. I asked if another doctor there would make the minor change to the prescription and was declined. I was completely on my own. Since the diagnosis she handed me was gynecological, I procured my own referral to a gynecologist who thankfully tested and ruled out Dr Duncan's diagnosis. I'm still in disbelief that she saddled me with such an awful diagnosis then turned her back on me. I took it as cowardice. She came up with something she couldn't handle and instead of suggesting a specialist, she dropped me without explanation. I felt betrayed.
