I read on line, where you were pet friendly. When we got there, we were told, we couldn't bring our dogs in. Now, if they broke something, I would have paid for it. But my guys are very gentle & follow where I go. You missed out on a big sale, I loved the Pelican that was outside. read more

It's a really cool place it's just so unfortunate how rude the employees are. We walked in (we're all mexican) and didn't a a SINGLE greeting but the two white familiars who entered after us "how are you guys? Welcome to Janet's Treasure Chest. This is the most magical gift store we have ever been too! I cannot believe we have been coming to Hochatown for years and have never stopped here before! This past week, four of us were enjoying Broken Bow, Hoochatown and the surrounding areas. We visited numerous shops, dining out and participating in various rides. All was fantastic until entering Janet's Treasure Chest. When I entered with my service dog, I was immediately confronted by one of the workers that the dog requires a service vest. I explained that a vest is not required, per ADA and federal guidelines. Almost immediately, the owner, Janet Cress arrived in my face, stating that the sign on the door requires the vest. I repeated to her that she was in violation. I offered her a card that describes service animal laws and she refused to look at it. I told her that she should read the laws and see that she is in violation. Another refusal. She then threatened to call the police if I did not leave. She violated my rights by not allowing myself and service dog into a public place. Their parking lot is in violation of designated handicap parking spaces, as required by Federal, State and ADA rules. Harassing a disabled person with a service dog is also a punishable crime. I returned to the store and saw that their illegal sign was still posted on the door. It says that you can carry your dog into the store. Janet also told me that she didn't like the dog in there because of her breakable items. I told her that if he broke something, I would pay for it. Bottom line - Janet Cress is in violation of many laws and refuses to comply. She lost more customers that us four. I did not post this on Facebook, because she would delete my comments. My review is 100% truthful and accurate. Janet also owns several other businesses in town. We refuse to frequent any of them, based on her ignorance of the laws and compliance standards.
