Ok so I want to start off with the fact that she did a fantastic job on my eyebrows. This was all that mattered to me so that is what I'm basing my review on. I've been to high end spas, ULTA, nail shops and she's by far the best. The only things I would want to inform anyone is that the description on the website might be deceiving. First we didn't collaborate on the ideal shape in the beginning of the visit like the description said. She basically asks you to lay back and she just gets to work. Next, I wasn't given a choice on wax, tweezing, threading or sugaring. I think she did all but sugaring. Lastly she didn't finish off filling the brows with pencil, powder or any make up. Again these were all the things I anticipated because of the online description. But none were important to me. Just wanted people who would mind to know. Maybe she will if you ask but I didn't. Update: Response was given after review but it was defensive, and no refund given. [Photo of my eyes once I left the studio, as well as the doctored image Janice sent me in which she edited my "after" photo.] I regretfully write a review that does not recommend Janice's Brow Bar. Janice was very nice and great communication up until after our appointment. My mom gave me a lash lift as a holiday present and I requested Janice based on the good reviews. However, this is the first time I have had a negative experience in my 5 years of getting lash lifts. I will preface by saying that Janice was apologetic and offered 20% off, but unfortunately, she instead ghosted and I truthfully feel this warrants a full refund. She sent me altered images of my eyes (without mentioning she edited), and did not follow hygienic practices, which I believe led to styes that were visible on Christmas eve. She has since ghosted. I cannot in good faith recommend her. I went to Janice for the specific distributor's formula she uses, Elleebana; I am not sure she is actually using this formula. Prior to our appointment, I sent a photo of my lashes and let her know as a heads up that I had thick, Asian lashes. This has been standard for me to do with no issue; usually techs appreciate knowing ahead of time. I think wires got crossed because this somehow translated to her not actually lifting my lashes, which she blames on her use of a specific sized rod she said I requested, which I did not. When I arrived, Janice was not wearing a mask despite a policy on her website asking customers to do so. While uncomfortable because cases of COVID are soaring (12/23/21), I went in. The space is small and she was talking to me within inches of my face with no mask. When we went about the procedure, she put a mask on, then took it off right after (this feels like a convoluted use of a mask?). She did not wear gloves. She splashed water on her hands but no soap/ nowhere close to standard amount of time. She kept touching my lashes and folds of my eye, chemicals, and tools that she did not keep on the table- most were kept next to my head on the seat I laid on, intertwined with my hair. I heard some things drop while my eyes were closed that I hope she didn't just pick up off the floor and use. Aside from other things I was not used to in terms of how she went about cleaning my eyes (perhaps wetting them too much and diluting the formula?), the end result was not lifted much. I was surprised since my lashes always take to Elleebana formula. She looked apprehensive and didn't show me my lashes until after taking photos, then suggested **I curl my lashes and use mascara for them to appear more lifted.** She then suggested I come in after 24 hours to get them re-done; she already knew the issue, and immediately saw my lashes didn't take, but instead of offering a refund, she wanted me to "squeeze me in" after the holidays. I asked if this was a good idea because you should not get another lift for 5-6 weeks. I finally told her I was uncomfortable with this because redoing my lashes is re-perming- this not only makes them more brittle but also more subject to fallout. Even if they didn't, the lash cycle would not last long, so although she would potentially fix them in that moment, I would be paying for a service to last a much shorter due to her error. I don't like that she either doesn't seem to know this or was deliberately not telling me, especially when every other lash tech has warned me not to get them redone for weeks afterward. I asked to see a before/after photo of my lashes. After several hours, she sent me photos she admitted they were grainy. It was edited to more prominently emphasize my lashes- this shows a lack of transparency and felt like lying. The editing is obvious for someone my age. They were darkened, which is weird because I received no tint but it looks like she tried to make it seem like they were. Lastly, my eyes felt a little cloudy after. I developed two styes on my eye the next day on Christmas Eve. I let her know but have not heard back since. I hate to have to leave a review like this. I have never experienced this. The way she would take her fingers and run them on my lashes without sanitizing... how she kept touching the inside of my eyelids.. this is the strangest experience I have had, almost as if perhaps the person forgot how to do lifts. I do notice reviews on lifts are a few years old. I am sorry to have to leave this review. Janice, I hope you can consider a full refund. This was my mother's Christmas present to me and we were left feeling used. Unsafe hygiene caused my eyes to have styes. I understand a customer could not always be happy but this service could have gone much differently, and if even just some were different, despite my lashes not lifting, I would not have felt compelled to warn others of this. i really enjoyed my experience here. Janice took all safety precautions required and was very quick & professional. the appointment was very easy to book as well. i do prefer threading over waxing/plucking because i have sensitive skin, but she was so gentle that i had absolutely no reaction and barely any redness. i just got them done today so i cant speak on how long the tint will last, but overall i love how my eyebrows turned out and i definitely recommend this place. read more

Janice's brow microblading skills are amazing! I had no eyebrows and Janice gave them back to me. It looks like real hair. I can say good-bye to my brow pencil and brow powder; they look that full. Because microblading is semi-permanent, I was nervous. But I had an initial consultation with Janice where she showed me photos of her work and of clients similar to my situation. It gave me the comfort level to book my microblading appointment. Janice took her time to make sure we were both happy with the color and shape (which is a challenge when you have nothing to go by) and rechecked it often for symmetry and my satisfaction. The photo is my before and after, taken immediately after my initial session. I'll have a touch up session in 6 weeks, which is standard practice for microblading procedures; and I'm sure they'll look even more amazing than they do now.
