I reached out to a few different local cleaning companies and Jan was the first to reach back out to me. She was extremely professional and prices are very reasonable. She was able accommodate my same day cleaning request, which was nice because I didn't have time to clean before my guest came into town. She brought all her own cleaning supplies as well!! I too had an unfortunate experience with Jan. I had hired her to do a move out cleaning. The unit she was to clean was approx 500 sq ft. I met her at the unit and let her in. I then ran some errands and came back two hours later thinking she'd be just about done. I walk in and barely anything had been done. She was cleaning out the tub, apparently, but I couldn't even smell the cleaning products (which usually you can, especially in a space that small). I asked her if she thought she'd be done soon, and she said she was just getting started. I then paid her for the two hours and said to text me when she was done and we could square up later. Maybe like the previous poster, I was too trusting. I didn't receive a text so the next afternoon I text her. She said she was at my apartment cleaning until 4 in the morning. Seven hours of cleaning for a 500 sf apartment? So later that day I had a walkthrough with my landlord and it was the first time seeing the place after Jan cleaned. Yes, the fridge and oven were cleaned and the toilet was mostly cleaned, but the shelves weren't, and there was a layer of something grimy on the hardwood floors. It looked like someone spent an hour and a half, maybe two hours cleaning - definitely not the seven hours she said she did. Even my previous landlord during the walkthrough said I had been ripped off and asked me for her name so she could be sure to stay away. Anyway, I called her and told her I wasn't happy and she said she'd meet me at the place that weekend so I can show her what areas needed to be recleaned. Well, that day she was at another house and was over an hour late in heading in my direction. I waited until I couldn't anymore and then called her and said to forget about the reclean, I couldn't wait. I said I'd be willing to pay for another hour or so more than what I had previously paid, but not the seven additional hours she said she cleaned. She told me to keep the money. I have recently moved to the Omaha area and in doing so had to say good bye to my amazing cleaning woman. We found Jan Allen on Yelp. We had family coming for a few days and needed the house cleaned better than we were doing. Jan agreed to come on a Saturday morning. Our house is medium size, but there are three bathrooms and lots of stuff to dust. One bathtub and the Master shower needed extra scrubbing. Wow Jan devoted her life to getting us clean! She worked really hard and did an amazing job. She was so friendly and polite, it was a joy having her around. She stopped a few times to chat, but never very long. After working on our house all day we were concerned that the charges would be sky high, but her price at the end was quite reasonable. We will call her back for sure, and sooner so she can get through it in a couple of hours. read more

I generally never write reviews but I thought it was important to share my encounter with Jan. I called her to book an apt to come for an estimate. The day I called was a Wednesday, when I called she sounded a little off but her reviews seemed really good and I needed my house done for an upcoming party. I have no children and the house is primary tidy, I just needed the hardwood floors done, counters, ect. We made a plan for her to come that Sunday. Sunday rolled around and she never showed up at the discussed time so I called her, when she answered she acted as if she had no knowledge of me or the previous conversation. It was bizarre. I still decided to give it one more chance. We set up a time for the following Friday. She showed up, and asked what I wanted done. I explained and left for work. My husband was in and out. Absolutely nothing was done. I got off late after she had been there for almost 8 hours. She showed me the inside of the microwave and asked me what else I wanted done (we had gone over it and I left a detailed list on the kitchen table) at this point I'm thinking "what the hell? You only got the microwave done." No floors were done it was as if she sat the entire time. I was dumbfounded. She tried to make an apt to come back at a later date. After she left and I had some time to access my house fully, I texted her and let her know how disappointed I was and that we would not be using her services again. She never responded which is fine. But to anyone who's looking for a reliable, hard working, in home cleaning service, this is not it, this is not the person. She was very unprofessional and something was definitely off (not remember our first conversation?) She did not seem trust worthy and she did a very poor job cleaning although she was there for hours.
