What am amazing job Jan's / Nick did cleaning my blinds! The difference is astounding - like night and day! My 9-year old blinds now look brand new! Nick made the whole process so easy - from removing the dirty blinds on his first visit to re-installing the super clean, white blinds on delivery day. I'm also very impressed that the blinds were returned with a very neutral, clean, scent. No perfume or chemical smell whatsoever. I am absolutely thrilled with the results and am so glad I chose to invest in cleaning my blinds rather than spend 4 times more buying new blinds and discarding the perfectly good, but dirty, blinds I had. It had been quite some time since I needed dry cleaning service so I was unsure what to expect with pricing and advancements in technology. After an event we needed to have a dress, dress shirt, and suit dry cleaned. I decided since I was taking those things, should take winter pea coat and the kilts. Someone had spilled orange pop on the dress shirt and a leather wrist band had rubbed on the inside of the dress shirt cuff. 5 STAR ALERT! World renown restoration work done here! If you don't see 5 star reviews, its just haters, disregard! I took my $13,000 wedding gown out of storage to sell on Ebay. Brought it to Jan's and it looks the as crisp as day I walked the isle. Her seamstress Carolyn went over all the torn areas with me (too much dance step!) and discussed pricing up front. It's not cheap getting an expensive gown restored but it's worth it to get some money back. I am now going through all my expensive vintage stuff, time to get rid of it! Will for sure use Jan's. All employees were very kind to me and most importantly they all spoke very highly of their boss, Jan (who is a great lady). Biggest plus? Free wifi while you wait or do laundry. Negative reviews: Sadly two of the negative reviews here are from a husband and wife team. What are the chances of Jans messing up both their items in the same household? Come on. Also, it can be proven that several accounts have been created by the same vindictive yelper for the purpose of sabotaging Jan's business. Jan and her staff do GREAT work. read more

Avoid this place! They had to refund me for the alterations done to my wedding dress. This happened the week of my wedding. I was literally looking for a new dress a couple of days before the wedding because of this. However, refunding botched alterations (after a bunch of back and forth and such) did not in any way alleviate the stress that I had from dealing with this nightmarish situation, nor did it pay for a new dress or magically fix my now-damaged dress. Seriously unprofessional. I was so stressed it, this experience literally ruined my wedding for me. One of the most stressful and upsetting experiences of my life. My mother was so livid, she was threatening litigation and words rolled off her tongue that I've never heard come out of her mouth before or since this nightmare. The dress (which was a designer dress that I managed to snag on a sale) was damaged, had partial measurements done that were woefully inaccurate (I didn't change size and I certainly didn't get taller, plus I was wearing the correct wedding shoes when the seamstress took my measurements) and the fancy french bustle that was supposed to be completed was a joke. I cried so much that week. And to add insult to injury, I never received a sincere apology. Instead, I received a lot of excuses. I was treated very poorly, given multiple excuses, the royal runaround, and I heard a variety of flimsy attempts to "pass the buck." And the place was dirty as well. Yikes. PS: Don't trust a business owner who repeatedly writes Yelp reviews for her own business, only to see them removed (as they should be) by Yelp or one who harasses reviewers online because she dislikes what is said (the truth!). read more

If you see anything higher than a two star review, I would say don't believe it. I'm not in the habit of writing very negative reviews, but I would never bring my clothes here again and I do not suggest anyone else to bring things here if they don't desire a poor experience. At least I can prove I've been here unlike a few friends of the business owner posting reviews on here. How dubious. My step daughter's prom dress was dropped here for drycleaning and came out with damage. Sequins popping off, snags in visible spots on the front and around the bottom, which was shirred. Disaster. If you complain, you get nothing out of it but more drama and it isn't worth my ulcer being upset to deal with it now. The dress was certainly a wear it once deal, but it's damaged and looks like it was from the consignment store instead of a beautiful satin dress worn once for prom. We have her pictures and that is all. She was hoping to keep it as a keepsake. There is hardly a point now. She was so upset when I showed it to her. She truly wanted to hold onto it because it was from her first prom. It infuriated me because I did overtime shifts at the hospital to pay for that dress. The cost to dryclean was cheap, but that is about all I can say about it. If the prom dress had been laundered correctly, it would be a different story. I am upset and so is my step daughter. I know as a local it was the easy choice, but I should have chosen more wisely and looked at Yelp before or done more research than just taking a couple tops in to be laundered a few years earlier. I had a very negative consumer experience with Jan's. An unprofessional, dismissive attitude was basically the extent of what I received in response to my complaints regarding an expensive suit sent to Jan's. I would not recommend them to anyone, under any circumstances. First things first, ruined clothing items, particularly very expensive special occasion attire, can't be easily or repaired or replaced, like poof, damage undone. Second, I expect excellent customer service with every business I patronize, regardless, plus a sincere and heartfelt apology with an appropriate refund commensurate with the damages if something is damaged in any way. What I do not expect is double talk and excuses. That was inexcusable. If by chance you do use this dry cleaner/tailor, please do yourself a favor and don't bring any formal wear or expensive pieces here, or you will regret it as much as I did. For myself, I was not pleased with the bad service, inconsistent info regarding store and refund policy, slow turnaround time, snippy attitude, and damaged custom suit that I couldn't replace. That was the most expensive suit I've ever owned and it was unwearable afterward. I never wore it again. It still hangs in my closet as a permanent reminder. It bums me out because it not only cost me a bundle to buy it, but it looked great on me. A perfect fit. PS: trying to get someone to answer the phone is a hassle in itself. If you see any ratings other than 5 stars these people are absolutely wrong! I am a collector and now turned my collection into a vintage clothing website for people to purchase these items. Jan has restored and cleaned my garments from as early as the late 1800's - the 1970's. She does amazing work with attention to every detail. Celebrities and movie prop houses are purchasing these garments I've had Jan restore, just to tell you how high her standards are. I cannot find anyone in the country who does what this lady can do! She is a national treasure for saving our fashion history. Our country will never have garments made like this again and she saves them! I have sent her things badly stained and missing beads, she makes them look almost new! I cannot give this business enough praise or enough stars. read more

I see that there are some negative reviews for Jan's. I do not understand why, I have always had very positive experiences. When I had my business (Williams Orthotic Services) we had another service taking care of our very filthy lab coats. We accepted as normal that the coats were always going to come back with stains and dingy because we are so rough on them. It wasn't till we switched to Jan's that we realized what a crappy job the other service had been providing. Since I retired, I still drive 50 miles to take my special cleaning needs to Jan's. I had some filthy vintage race track coveralls with special autographs on the back from people like Sterling Moss (very famous guy) and some antique automobilia patches on it. My wife used to clean it at home, but it was becoming grayer each time. Jan's made it look like new again. I suspect that the negative reviews are from some kind of hater that is posting multiple posts to screw them over. Overall I would give them SIX stars if I could!! read more

My husband and I have used Jan's cleaners for cleaning, helping us to redecorate our upstairs and consulting on decorating. They even restored a 1940s lace tablecloth my mother-in-law gave us. These folks are customer-centered and work diligently to provide excellent service. My husband and I have been impressed from day one! My husband contacted Jan's Professional Dry Cleaners in February of 2017 to see if they could dry clean, restring and rehang two balloon shades for our kitchen. The balloon shades were cleaned, restrung and installed along with two roller shades at a cost of $475.00. The nightmare began after the balloon shades were reinstalled. The first guy who installed the balloon shades drilled four brackets into our kitchen wall and hung the shades but the shades weren't hanging correctly and they had lost most of their puffiness. Jan's came out numerous times, took the shades back, came back and reinstalled them with the same results. Finally, she brought her "expert" to help with the problem. I explained to this "expert" what the problems were with the shades and she convinced me she could solve the problems. I was really excited to find a resolution, until she returned the shades in the EXACT condition they were in when she took them. She took them back a final time and brought them back with a helper and rehung them for an additional $313.00 The guy who installed the shades this time, removed the four brackets from the wall and placed different brackets on our window casings; now we are left to patch and paint the four holes in the walls where the brackets were; they also failed to mention the bright lime green stain that extended down the length of one of the pull cords (fortunately, I was able to remove most of the stain with Oxy Clean.) This expensive experience with Jan's lasted until February of 2018, and cost over $788 dollars. While the shades will NEVER be as nice as they were originally, I am happy my experience with Jan's is over. read more
