I actually like Japangeles (even though it is overpriced "hype" clothes) but the customer service is awful. We unfortunately shopped there on 9/12/26 in the afternoon and the two male employees couldn't have cared less about helping customers. They stood there talking to each other, avoiding eye contact, and acting annoyed when asked basic questions. I'm not even expecting amazing service, but maybe acknowledge the people walking into your tiny overpriced store? I mean, you have two workers for a clothing store the size of a small LA studio. Is that necessary? Both also contributed to absolutely nothing. If you're going to charge "hype" prices, the least you can do is provide basic customer service. In the end, you're not selling the clothes, you're selling the brand and reputation it holds. Maybe that basic concept is too complicated for those two to grasp. read more

These guys were so chill and friendly, it was like hanging with the homies versus being helped by staff even though that is what they were doing. We loved a lot of the pieces in the store but settled on a super cool jacket for my son. I secretly want to wear it but I won't jack his swagger. He liked it so much he wore it for picture day. Drove an hour from where I was staying, to Little Tokyo specifically for this store!! I was lucky enough to find street parking pretty close by. When we walked by, I wasn't sure if they were open or closed because the sign said closed but there was a worker talking to someone outside. I asked if he was closed, and he let me in. The shop itself is pretty small but with a pretty good selection. Their shirt pricing ranges from roughly $28-$48. I like that most of their designs are unisex. Since I live in Hawaii, I wasn't too concerned about pricing because I knew I was going to buy a lot regardless. I ended up getting my whole family something and spent a little over $400. My only (small) gripe was the customer service. The guy in there wasn't rude, but also didn't seem interested in having any of their products sold either. It would've been nice to have some type of engagement instead of only when I had questions-- maybe I would've walked out with more things. Anyways, besides that, my family was stoked about the things I brought back. Wish they still had their online store tho!! read more

Located in Little Tokyo in Japanese Village Plaza among many other shops, this one stands out. They sell mainly men's clothing, but I think their stuff is unisex (shirts, hoodies, jackets, etc.) Their sizes run a tad small imo. They don't have an online shop which I think is really cool because shopping in Little Tokyo is an experience on its own and I highly recommend. However, they do online pop-ups every so often which they announce on Instagram. The staff is always so nice and helpful every time I visit. The Japangeles flagship store is located in the Japanese Village Plaza and is a streetwear brand. Liked a lot of their designs and bought a couple shirts. The clothes are unisex so my husband and I plan on sharing a few and the price ranged from $20s-$30s. So far they have been good quality and we hope to go back to buy more! Room for improvement would be customer service. Employee was on his phone the whole time when we were the only customers in the store and browsing the entire selection and never looked up until we were ready to check out. A nice little shop in the Japanese Village Plaza, mainly wanted to check out their clothing after seeing some neat prints on their Instagram page and finding out that they did not offer any of their apparel online (anymore). The service was really great, as the selection was quite limited so I needed to ask several follow up questions to determine if they had certain prints and sizes in stock. I was told that they would have a re-stock of certain items that caught my attention, and although I would not be returning anytime soon to check out those items, it was nice to know that they were willing to share such information. I really liked the grey shirt with a sakura print as well as the crew neck sweater with an embroidered persimmon. Pricing seems relatively reasonable considering the shop has a very "limited edition" feel, and the bags they give are nice! Would certainly visit if I was in the area to check out some of their seasonal selections. read more

LOVE the Japangeles brand! I had always seen their kiosk in front in the Little Tokyo village and thought their apparel looked nice, very urban. But unfortunately I didn't end up actually purchasing anything from them until this past year when they got a store front across the way from Cafe Dulce. The actual store is a bit small but it's PACKED with everything from shirts, shorts, pants, windbreakers to hats and more! I never knew they had so many options on designs. I really like their jackets - though I have yet to get one since the two times I've gone to their store it's been blazing hot outside and it didn't really seem to fit my need at the moment. I'll have to get one eventually cause they look so dope! I have quite a few of their shirts though and they're so comfy and the quality is great! I think I spent around $25-$35 a pop per shirt I've purchased which, to me, is reasonable for a streetwear brand. Each time I've gone to Japangeles I've easily spent over $100 so unless you're planning on only buying one or MAYBE two items I'd be prepared to drop a little cash. It's worth it to me though since I really like their stuff. One thing I do wish they had was an online store. Unfortunately everything is only available at their brick and mortar location with the occasional online pop up shop during the holidays or special events they have. But I guess that makes it them more special because you're most likely from the SoCal area and had to make the drive to purchase it which gives off a close knit vibe if you come across someone else wearing their brand. Like the review dated prior to this, customer service is terrible. Don't work there if you don't want to be there. Also, they have only one size of each on the rack. If you try on the item that you're interested in and want to buy, you must purchase the one you just tried on. It would be nice to know this when asking to try on the clothes. I've never heard of such a policy anywhere. I pointed out that the item had a stain on it and was given one from stock in the back. What a joke. There are so many things I love about this shop and brand! Located in Little Tokyo, it's a small shop right off 2nd. There's metered street parking, plenty of parking lots, & the Japanese Village parking structure. Modern & minimalist in decor, the shop carries t-shirts (long and short sleeves), sweatshirts (hooded and crew necks), jackets, hats, and a few accessories. Everything is branded and most of the designs pay homage to both Japanese and LA culture. They do collabs with Japanese and Japanese-American businesses and groups (Sanrio, the Rafu Shimpo, Kirin Beer, the Go for Broke Foundation) which my family and I LOVE! I have three teenage daughters that are complete opposites in interests/likes/fashion styles, but this is the ONLY place they ALL want to shop at! It's also my go-to when I need a gift for one of their friends! I've seen this brand start off from a small cart in the Village to strangers stopping us and asking where the store is when they are wearing their merch. It's amazing to see Japangeles (which promotes both their city and Japanese-American culture) now grow and expand into what it is today. Definitely plan a trip out there to check them out! Designs and colors are always changing and they tend to sell out of things, so if there's something you want in particular that you've seen someone wearing or on IG call and make sure they have it before you go! read more

When I first moved to LA, I visited the Japanese Village Plaza and saw that this place was a little kiosk, so it's great to see that they have a shop now. I visited the Go For Broke National Education Center and they were the ones that directed me to this place because they carry a few Go For Broke merchandise (t-shirts, long sleeves, and hoodies). The shop has a modern, minimalist vibe to it. Things are displayed well and have their Japangeles logo on it. I picked up a hat and they threw in a sticker for me. Flash forward to today, I now live in Las Vegas and I was standing in a line at the Nike store where the dude in front of me was wearing a Japangeles windbreaker-- WHAT. With the help of social media, I found that Japangeles now had a legit storefront with a new line of merch. We made the trek down to LA to visit! Their store is located across the street from RIF LA. Parking is really easy, there's a parking garage across the street and there's also an abundance of street parking. I came to Little Tokyo about 2 years ago when they just had their little booth stand in the middle of the plaza. This is before they had even opened a store, so it was a nice beginning for them. I remembered buying their classic maroon hoodie, and fell in love with their brand. I gave them a follow on their Instagram (@japangeles) after I had left to go back home. Their story was so unique, to create Japanese streetwear in Los Angeles. If you wanted to buy any of their clothing, you'd have to visit their shop in Little Tokyo because their clothing is only exclusive to people visiting their shop. They do not have an online store and they do not ship! In fact, having a brand like this is really neat because not only are you visiting their shop, you can experience what Little Tokyo has to offer. Walking around the little shops that are there and eating at the different types of restaurants, really gives you a small insight into the Japanese culture. I had to visit Japangeles once again before I had to head home and once I walked inside, I was greeted by the workers and was told to ask them any questions that I might have. They were super helpful and although they didn't have the hoodie that I wanted in stock anymore, they still had great pieces that I had to get. They were pulling new pieces that they had not even put on the floor yet and I had to buy them. In all, I bought three of their hoodies that day and to this day, their quality still is in great condition, despite all the washes that they have been through. Anyone that reads this should definitely take a drive to Little Tokyo, LA and should visit this shop. Found this store while exploring Japantown and they did not disappoint. Japangeles has an assortment of streetwear clothing - ranging from hoodies, shirts, hats, graphic tees, etc. They also sometimes do collaborations with big name companies such as Lexus(sick designs btw). The employee working there that day was friendly and helpful. He was able to answer all of my questions as a first-timer and even threw in two neat stickers with my purchase! If you're into streetwear and supporting small businesses, visit this store. They most likely will have what you want and the staff are chill. One precaution I would say is to bring a lot of money($80-100 at the minimum). For their prices and quality, it is all worth it. I will definitely be back next time I'm in SoCal. 5/5. read more

The store is small - but well-curated and clean. I was surprised to discover they don't have much back-up stock; feel free to ask - but I suspect that what you see is what you get. [There were only two XS of the jacket I ended up purchasing.] In case it wasn't self-explanatory enough, the label is a fun riff of 'Japan' and '(Los) Angeles'. Two places near and dear to my heart. And in case you can't read katakana, and were wondering... it literally says 'Japangeles'. :) The design aesthetic is reminiscent of Adidas or Nike. Perfect for those searching for athelesiure wear.
