We purchased a tour package of the Alhambra that included lunch at Jardines Alberto. Our lunch was a prix fixe menu starting with a delicious savory yet sweet fried pork spring roll, followed by a juicy chicken breast stuffed with cinnamon apples and toasted almonds on a bed of aromatic rice. Lastly, for dessert we had a decadent vanilla bean pudding topped with crunchy croutons. Service was very friendly and attentive. Although we were seated outdoors, the tarp spared us from getting soaked by the passing storm. A delicious foamy cappucino paired well with the pudding and the rain. I would definintely recommend Jardines Alberto during your visit. read more

While waiting for our private tour of Alhambra, we decided to have breakfast. I had a beer and a full English style breakfast. We also had a salad. All was very good and the outside dining was amazing. Very attentive wait staff that knew English so we had a good experience. read more

We were super hungry after a day at the Alhambra and this restaurant was just steps from the palace! Normally I would not expect much from a restaurant in a touristy area, but I was completely wrong! The ambience was a lovely terrace , the food was great. We got the prix fix/ dia menu. It was a 3 course meal with drink and excellent value at 16.50 E. The food choices were both traditional and some with a fusion touch, like the 1st course croissant with squid and Korean gochujang sauce (excellent by the way). For the drink choices, they even let us substituted with tinto verano. The irony that being in a really touristy place, this restaurant was among our favorite meals during our trip for food quality, taste, ambiance and at a great value too ! Service was friendly although slow. The food came out fast but the desserts took forever. They were so under staffed with just a few waiters and a full restaurant and our poor waiter tried his best to juggle the multiple tables and endless stream of hungry diners coming in. read more

Tapas were delicious. Drinks were refreshing. The ambience could not be beat. My travel group enjoyed sangrias and tapas lunch before seeing the famous Alhambra just footsteps away. My tapas: fried calamari, potatoes, mushrooms with green beans, tomato based curry with boiled egg piece. Crusty bread to soak up all the goodness was delicious. Oh and the manchego cheese slice - yum. I loved sitting in the upstairs balcony surrounded by serene greenery and colorful tile-top tables, laughing and enjoying the Spanish guitar music from the live band. I'm not sure what the one star review ran into on that day, but this place could easily (and justifiably) be a tourist trap as they are right across the street from a top five Spanish tourist destination. Also, I cannot compare them to other establishments in Granada as it was our only meal there. However, I know good food, and excellent service. This place had both. We ordered from their 'set' menu which came with a few choices for appetizer, drink, entree, and dessert. The value to offering was excellent. None of our dishes were average. The Andalusian dessert (Star Anise and cream), simply blew our minds. It was a hot day, so we ate inside, but they have three wonderful terraces. Special shout out to our waitress (Im sorry for not knowing her name), but she had long brown wavy hair and was simply excellent. By far, the best service we've had in Spain or Portugal, just lovely. read more

We had made a pit stop at Jardines Alberto while waiting for our turn for the famous Alhambra. This restaurant is one of those lucky few that you find around the world where no matter what they do to the food, good or bad, they will consistently have foot traffic. This is all due to the fact that is it literally right next door to Alhambra, so it is prime real estate. With that said, our meal was not too bad, not the best, but much better than expected. The seating and navigation for this place is odd. You literally go through a gift shop to find the restaurant, so odd. Once you traverse through two floors of seating you reach the indoor restaurant, which may be full and you get to turn right back around and sit outside. It was not a bad experience, do not get me wrong, but just a weird initial journey for lack of better term. As for the food, it is basically a mix up of Italian and Spanish style, so I was quite happy and the menu was not too large. I'd suggest grabbing one of the local wines by the bottle as they were quite tasty. I ended up grabbing a simple chicken and salad combo, which came out pretty quick and was quite tasty. The staff were very nice and accommodating and were very conscious of allergies. The pricing is a tad high, but honestly what can you expect with it being the only restaurant and right next to a major attraction. If you want a fancy and great meal, eat in the city as Jardines Alberto was the middle of the road type restaurant. read more

This was some of the best food I had around Spain. it was up about 20 steps, so not very handicap accessible - but right across from the Alhambra.. The seafood here is amazing!! Very fresh! We had the dogfish bites, gambones al ajillo (shrimp) and the stuffed chicken medallions with the monk fish. I liked the monk fish alot but the chicken medallions were better imo, they had more flavor. Can't go wrong here! read more

This place was located right next to Alhambra, but its kind of hidden and i don't know how many people find it. The entrance is obscured by a convenience store. You basically have to walk into the entrance of the convenience store, then go up the stairs to find it. But i guess there are signs and if you are hungry or curious enough you'll find a way to find it. This place is just okay, some things were better than others, i guess it depends on what you order. The salad was pretty plain, just greens and tomatoes you had to dress your own salad with the balsamic and olive oil on the table; too plain for me. The salmon i had for my entree was very good though and the highlight of the meal; very tender, probably poached bain-marie style. Not dried out or flakey like salmon can be when over cooked, this was very tender and moist. For dessert there was some sort of custard. The texture was nice and smooth but i didn't find anything special about it. I did wish there was some caramel on the bottom or maybe even a fruit puree or brûlée over the top. But that seemed to be the theme of the restaurant, more simple straight forward food no fancy garnishes and fluff. read more

Incredible food. Best I've had in Spain so far, but I am not a fan of Madrid style tapas, so maybe I have a Spanish food problem. But here they try to cook some local dishes. We had the grilled bread with roasted peppers tomatoes garlic and artichoke hearts. They roast and marinade these vegetables perfectly- tender with a bite, olive oil and lemon or vinegar (and no smokey burnt taste). It is a perfect appetizer. Then we had one of the best looking dishes we had in a long time- a pepper, avocado, cheese, mango and olive salad. Everyone in the restaurant stared when it was carried over. It was delicious, but I regret ordering it because I thought it would be a salad with greens and it had lots of roasted peppers that we had in the first appetizer with all of roast garlic. Then we had lamb that was roasted on a low heat for 16 hours that was served with a yogurt sauce and bread crumbs served sautéed in lamb gravy. The lamb was perfect. If you are hungry after a visit to Alhambra y Generalife, I recommend Restaurant Jardines Alberto that is located right outside of Alhambra. It looks like it is built into the side of a hill. However, the stairs lead you to dining areas on top of the hill. I went with the daily prix-fixed menu that offers 3 courses, bread, and a drink [includes alcoholic options]. For my appetizer, I ordered the fried mushrooms and asparagus. They were delicious. They were pan fried, not deep fried. For my entrée, I had the cod. The fish was very fresh. On the other hand, the side of vegetables were bland especially compared to the appetizer of vegetables that had plenty of olive oil. The accompanying bread was fresh and very good. For my drink, I asked for a glass of red wine. It was sweet like I prefer wine. I finished with the cinnamon custard for my dessert. It was unique and delicious. I did not like it at first but it grew on me. Overall, the prix-fixed menu was a good deal. It was also a pretty restaurant. The food was excellent and the service great. Can't beat the location-right next to Alhambra. Quite nice. I liked the fish for two. My wife is more picky about what she eats so I got the larger share. The salad with cheese and tomatoes was very tasty After you eat take the hop on hop bus for an informative ride. Bad service. Breakfast is ok. Waiter/manager who served me on the morning of July 27, 2016 was very rude. He got annoyed because I asked for his recommendation between two sandwiches and he cursed at me saying fuck because he brought a glass bottle of water when I wanted a plastic one.
