We had a small intimate wedding on the beach in February. We are eloping this summer in Ireland but we really wanted to have a small ceremony for just our closest family. (since it was the beach somehow more people came out). But we really wanted simple but sweet photos of this. We hired Jason for 2 hours and he went to two separate locations for our photo session. My fiance and I recently worked with Jason for our engagement shoot. This was the first shoot we did with a professional photographer and to say we were nervous about it is an understatement. We had it scheduled for a week day after work hour during "golden hour" they all say and Jason suggested the LACMA light poles. The setting was so pretty! We arrived to the spot with Jason and all his photography gear. That's already a good sign. Jason kind of walked us through his style of photography, I had some Pinterest ideas, and together, we got some great photos out of it! Though it was a weekday, there were some people at the light poles but Jason was patient in getting that out of the shots. He was strategic in his angles and also noticed when there was trash on the floor! Obviously, having a camera to our face is not our normal day-to-day job but Jason really took the time to make us feel comfortable. After each pose, he would let us see the shot and we would go over what we liked and if there was something we didn't like and go from there. If I liked a shot but the wind was blowing my hair a certain way, he had no problems re-taking it. I am so incredibly thankful for Jason. We live in a different state and traveled to Santa Cruz for these pictures. I have to say that finding good photographers is tough because the lighting in the gym we play in is weird and gives pics an orangish tint. Jason rocks!!! He took the photos of my son's 13th birthday party and I am BEYOND pleased. I hired him to take spontaneous in-the-moment photos, so I didn't have to worry about capturing those memories. Done and done well!! When researching photographers, I looked for experts in nighttime photography because I knew my son's party was going to be lacking lighting (the party was at an awesome restaurant/bar/arcade). I found that Jason can do both daytime and nighttime photography well. He has modern equipment and didn't use that huge/obnoxious flash that always makes me look like a deer in headlights. Instead, he has this high-tech flash that is quicker than a blink. Also, he utilizes this awesome website that allows me (and my guests) to see the photos WHILE they are being taken. From that site you can save any photos onto your phone. I didn't even know this technology existed, but I'm thrilled that I had that immediate gratification. This morning I was able to scroll through the photos and re-live the night. Jason was easy to work with, reasonably priced and super sweet to my guests.
