Bowen's technique is to have you lay face down on the most uncomfortable tables that look like something from the 1940s. If that's not bad enough he tells his staff to let you lay there while he goes out on his lunch break for 45 minutes. Then when he decides to return he comes in and asks if you had a nice nap. After all of the waiting and wondering if he left for the day he does his 2-3 clicks with his so called clicker thumper on your back and then says "OK you can get up now" We the patients are then rushed to get up...regardless of how much in pain you are in or how dizzy you are for laying face squished down on his God awful tables. I have referred several of my friends to him only for them to leave with the same complaints. THEY NEVER WENT BACK. Needless to say....Our entire family is done with him. read more

I returned to Dr. Bowen a year or so later. I had a Workers Comp injury and he was listed as a provider. He acted very cold and when I asked him to fill out the required forms he said he would, but never did. There wa no explination for his attitude. Dr. Bowen is the best Chiropractor I've ever had; he's got some pretty good dance moves too. After I was all better from an injury - we had some PT time left and we had a little dance off.... I was impressed. LOL I've been going to him for years. Through car accidents, falls, physical therapy, neck cricks...he has fixed me up. He doesn't believe in life time stuff if you don't. His prices are reasonable considering all the methods he uses. His staff are professional, personable and they know me by name. I look forward to seeing them. They always accommodate me. I started coming to Dr Bowen for on on the job injury. I had a chiropractor that I had been seeing for years and after just a couple of visits I knew Dr Bowen was going to be my new Chiro. He listened to my concerns about having my neck adjusted early in my recovery and respected them, eventually he adjusted my neck and it has been amazing. He has helped me deal naturally with other pains, including static pain that I previously had to get injections for. I have taken my son in to be seen by Dr Bowen and recommended him to many people. His office staff is fantastic too. As stated in another review sometimes the wait can seem long depending on the day you go and time of day you are there, but show me a Dr worth going to that you can walk right in to that the insurance pays for. I had a major car accident, month of june this year- I was scheduled to see him for 6 sessions and boy, oh boy. Where do I begin? Let me first say, that he is, a sociable, mostly likeable person. He talks, a lot. He has a big personality and a booming voice. The first day, he actually assured me that he will help me with my shoulder issues and my TMJ. So, at first, I felt positive abd hopeful that he would actually help me, since he's the one who mentioned it. Out of the 6 sessions that I'm supposed to see him, only 1 actually lasted more than 5 minutes. I know the insurance is paying him, but I don't even know how legal can you bill insurance for 5 minutes of neck adjustments? (one pop to the left, one pop to the right). and the wait, is atrocious. He schedules people about three persons for one time. He has not even touched my jaws again- failed miserably to help me with my shoulder inflammation and I say, his practices give the rest of the chiropractors out there a bad name. He is definitely a QUACK-O-PRACTOR, and I wouldn't waste time or money on him. Look up Dr. Victor Collins at clovis area, if you need one. My boyfriend goes to him and he says he's the best one he's gone to so far. I will, indeed, go to him next. read more

First off, these negative reviews are just plain weird. And where is the yelp button that I can click that allows me to say "not cool". Anyway, I injured myself riding a wave runner hard and pulled something in my back behind my shoulder blade. Dr. Bowen took his time to locate the area of pain and the pinched nerve and pulled muscle. It took me about six months to work out this issue but I made slow but steady improvement and he tried a variety of techniques effectively. I think he only adjusted my spine/neck once. He massaged the area sometimes, used the electrodes and etc. Each time I left I felt relief until stiffness would set in again. But we made progress and I was soon healed. He and office staff were always courteous and kind, and he always professional with a good "bedside manner." I got better and never felt like he was charging for needless stuff, because everything he suggested helped in some way. Alternating treatments between deep massage kept me from getting more sore or reinjuring. What more can I ask? I am completely satisfied. read more
