However the food is tasty and substantial…read more Striking in this place is that it is divided in three rather small rooms, each with only 3 or so tables in them and since people are allowed to smoke in restaurants/bars in Austria the place seems to fill up with smoke quite quickly. The quite basic look was complimented with a welcome couple of good looking paintings. The menu consist of 6 soups or so, about 10 starters and 8 or so mains dishes. There are about 8 deserts available. We each had a soup and a main. The portions where large and the taste was good, yet basic without much fantasy. A bit like the stuff an Austrian grandma would cook I guess. The waiter was alone and seemed busy. When I asked for a recomandation he did not have any. He was friendly nevertheless.

At 6:30 on a Saturday evening we had trouble finding anything open, other than bars. This restaurant was open and it was everything we were lookin for. The best meal I have had on our trip. Because we did not have a reservation we had to share a table with a young couple from Belgium that were on their honeymoon. That also was a great experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This isn't the cafe's fault but I sat inside to avoid the noise and the dust in my food. I tried the apple strudel with turmeric latte. There is no coffee in the latte. She successfully upsold me with vanilla sauce for the strudel which costs more than 1 EUR. It was still delicious. I appreciated that guests of the cafe have access to the restrooms upstairs, which look like they may be shared. The restrooms were clean and a convenient place to wash my hands.
