We hitched a ride with a taxi from a taxi stand, and we went immediately to the largest taxi, a van which was three cabs back at the cab stand. When we started talking to the van driver to see if he could fit us and a wheelchair, the cab driver at the front of the line who was driving a much smaller vehicle that couldn't accommodate a wheelchair and three passengers, he started screaming at us that we weren't respecting the line, and that he's been waiting and he's the next fare. We tried to explain that his car couldn't fit all of us, but that didn't mean he wasn't willing to try- nope it's not gonna fit buddy. The van driver of Radio Taxi scooped us up into the van, loaded the wheelchair into the back, and we were gone for a fair fare we safely and quickly reached our destination. The other cab drivers were with the same company I believe. I guess you couldn't fault them for getting territorial, but I didn't think we needed to explain to the whole line of cabs at the cab stand that we required a van.

Tad more involved to do this but all you need to do is follow the bus signs out of the terminal and look for the Aerobus sign once outside the terminal. Tickets are purchased on a machine (cash or credit card) next to the boarding line and is fairly straight forward. Being a value conscious person I was estatic with this option. As the crow flies, I needed to go just under a mile. Unfortunately, as the crow flies, it would fly through the middle of the tarmac of Barcelona Airport, so I had to go way around the airport to get to my lodging. This was no small feat to get this distance with all my luggage a wheelchair and three people. None of the taxis could accommodate all of us, not even the van. The taxis seemed to be afraid of a regulation that prohibits passengers from having their bags in their seats with them, which sounds like hogwash to me. So we ended up having to get two taxis to take us and the luggage and the wheelchair, which ended up costing us more than the lodging that we went to. Loading the luggage into the back of the car, I was a bit too rough, and pressed in the ceiling material with the wheelchair, leaving a mark on the ceiling of the cab. The driver took great offence to this. When I attempted to pay for the fare at the end, the driver claimed he had no change so he wanted basically a 150% tip on the already expensive ride. I had to run inside the hostel to get some change, while he yelled about the roof. It was my bad on leaving a small mark, but he went pretty overboard about it, if you ask me. I gave him a tip that I felt fairly paid for the depreciation of his roof, which he seemed satisfied with and left.

I read the last review regarding Licencia Taxi that the customer claimed they did not get a taxi…read morereceipt and that they were ripped off. I did not experience that with my Licencia Taxi 5426 from the Barcelona (BCN) airport to our IHG Hotel Indigo Catalunya. This was because my Licencia Taxi 5426 is different from the Licencia Taxi number that they complained about. This could be an individual taxi driver complaint rather something more widely experienced. Anyway I received a receipt from my taxi driver. I was also charged 38 Euros or USA $44.14 from BCN to my IHG Hotel Indigo Catalunya, which I thought was reasonable. Anyway when we arrived at BCN I selected the larger Licencia taxi, because there were four of us with four large heavy luggages and several smaller carry-on luggages. Our older driver was able to successfully load and unload our four large heavy luggage in and out of his taxi. Our driver had difficulty locating our IHG Hotel Indigo because the Hotel Indigo street signage is not so prominent or visible to the naked eye. Our driver had to drive around several blocks once to locate our IHG Hotel Indigo. I do not blame our driver. I blame our IHG Hotel Indigo for inadequate street signage. My husband paid the cab driver euros instead but did not get a receipt. Please get receipts. Later that day, on 4/16/2024, the charges showed up twice. The cab company did refund one of the charges but not the second one. The cab driver ripped us off 42 euros. They say watch out for the pickpockets in pain, but instead, watch out for the CAB DRIVER. We made a claim with our bank, but it's his word against ours. I don't expect to get our money back, but hopefully, this will help someone else.
