It all started with an old implant that began to shift. Since I wasn't near home, I looked for a…read morespecialized center. With Clear Choice, everything seemed perfect--except for their request for upfront payment, which wasn't exactly classy. After the consultation with the doctor, the verdict was: "We need to remove the old implant and place a new one." An appointment was scheduled for the following week. The old implant was removed by a young and clearly inexperienced doctor, who immediately tried to prepare the site for the new implant. Apparently, she miscalculated the measurements and, by forcing it in, the implant broke. The result: a painful extraction of the second implant, bone grafting, and suturing. I was discharged without any instructions on how to take the prescribed antibiotics and without any recommendations whatsoever--so much so that I had to call a doctor friend to find out what to do. In less than three days, the stitches placed by the "highly experienced doctor" came apart, creating an actual hole and exposing the bone that had been inserted. I immediately called Clear Choice, and the doctor I spoke with (it was a Friday) told me that until the following Monday there would be no one available to redo the sutures. Considering that I was leaving that day, he suggested I find another dentist once I reached my destination. As a result, the work was completed by another dentist in Utah. The placement of the new implant has now been postponed for at least three months--and certainly not with Clear Choice. For the record, I paid $3,000 in advance. I requested a full refund, given the complete failure of the procedure, but they only returned $1,500. So I ended up paying $1,500 for work that I had to have completely redone--and which, had I gone to a regular (and perhaps more experienced) dentist, would have cost me no more than $800. In short, I got the worst of both worlds. Fabio M. Bonini

Within a few hours after the operation, I felt barely any pain or soreness. There was absolutely NO swelling. By the next day, I felt well enough to bike a few miles and eat whatever I wanted! On top of this, Dr. Dachowski and his team are very friendly and personable. Very grateful!

About a week ago I was referred to Dr. Dachowski for a routine dental extraction. The office in…read moreDoylestown was easy to find, and the staff were all extremely nice, although they did not accept my insurance. The extraction itself was pretty rough. They went at it like a guy with a jackhammer breaking up concrete. The last time I had this done (elsewhere), it went much more smoothly and painlessly, but I guess every tooth is different. They sent me off with two prescriptions: antibiotics (amoxycillin) and painkillers (vicodin). I had them filled shortly after I got home and took them exactly as directed. The next morning I awoke with terrible nausea. At first I thought it was because I hadn't eaten much the previous day, but it only got worse. Out of curiosity, I researched vicodin and found that nausea was a common side effect. Why would a doctor prescribe something like this? I didn't take any more after that (it wasn't helping much with the mouth pain, anyway, which was tame in comparison.) I continued to take the antibiotics, since I'd never had problems with them before. By late afternoon, the nausea and dizziness had become so severe that I could not even sit up without feeling like I was going to pass out. In the evening, I finally crawled to a phone and rang the doctor. He was dismissive and said that nothing he'd given me could have caused such a reaction. Then he suggested I might have (coincidentally) come down with the flu! Finally he told me to stop taking the antibiotics. Talk about making it up as you go along. He told me that in a few hours the symptoms would fade as the drugs got out of my system. I fell asleep, still feeling it, around 4 am. The next morning I felt relatively better, but now several days later my stomach still doesn't feel quite right. If your regular dentist tries to refer you here, ask for somebody else!

The appointment scheduling process was quick and easy and the online pre-registration helped our consultation visit go smoothly. The day of the surgery my son was quickly escorted into the back and I received a call from the staff when he was ready to be picked up. They communicated all the post-op instructions verbally and also provided them in writing. Later that evening the doctor called to make sure my son was doing well and encouraged us to call if we had any questions or concerns. My only issues with them was a lack in timely communication regarding the out of pocket cost. Our Consultation was on 4/14, the surgery was scheduled for 4/26; then we did not hear anything from the office until 4/22 advising the out of pocket cost after insurance would be nearly $800 and that half must be paid immediately to retain the appointment and that balance would be due the day of the surgery. After speaking to the billing department about their untimely communication we were able to reach an agreeable payment schedule. Given the overall experience I would happily recommend the practice to friends and family. However I would advise them to be proactive and reach out the the billing department themselves to avoid any large surprise bills.
