I am new to Medicare and simply asked the owner if I could use my Medicare allowance toward my purchase. Those of you who are already on Medicare know that there is a lot to learn at the beginning. You would think that this establishment would be happy to cater to people our age. My question was answered with an unexpected tirade of anger by the owner. I mean really, yelling at a potential customer whom you do not know from Adam? He covered everything from the corruption of a system that favors big insurance carriers to Obama making deals from his Martha's Vineyard home. Believe me, I cannot defend either political party because they both have issues. From everything he said I have to assume he is either a strong Republican supporter or Trump worshiper, which was something I couldn't care less about, nor should I have had to deal with anyway. His words made it clear, however, that the party this guy belongs to is mean-spirited and would watch the country burn to the ground before doing anything helpful for anyone but themselves. Never in my life have I wanted to run out of a place like I did that day. Thank God the phone rang, and I was able to take advantage of the moment to leave quickly. He had no intention of letting up, and I didn't say one word during the whole monologue. Never have I been so taken aback as a customer. My recommendation: stay as far away from JAYCO Medsupply as possible. The guy in charge is unhinged, and no one should have to be exposed to that kind of treatment. Went in yesterday after hurting my knee. Bought a hinged knee brace to help me recover. The owners son was helpful and polite. There was one lady before us but he acknowledged us quickly and let us know he would be right with us. Prices are comparable to most medical supply stores. The quality is great of the product is great too. Well worth the money spent. If you're looking for a brace that provides the right support, don't go to a CVS or similar. You will often be disappointed with the lack of stability. Spend the extra money and buy one that will last. I'm happy with my experience yesterday and happy to be able to comfortably deal with my knee. read more

Made a Yelp just to share how bad this place was. 1) Horrible customer service. Walked around forever waiting for Jay to get off the phone while he debated away about politics and the Bible. Never did! So much for "running a business." 2) Racist. Mocking Asian customers behind their backs. Good to know the owners of this business have any capacity to think! Overall, this is a terrible local business with a history of terrible customer service (mostly stemming from interactions with Jay), as evidenced in prior ratings. I went by to purchase a product to meet my insurance deductible. Yes, the older owner immediately started ranting about the government and why did so many hate trump? His son took over the sale, he probably does this often. The son was very nice,helpful and courteous. Most of the other customers were tattoo artists as the store sells tattoo supplies. I'm thinking the son is expanding their service for them (great area for this area.) He seemed respectful to his dad and the diverse customers at the counter. Had a prescription to purchase a medical supply, asked the associate if they accepted the prescription. He very rudely said no. I asked if he knows any where else that expects the prescription which should be covered under my insurance plan. He again rudely stated no we dont take insurance here and walked away! Very unprofessional for a medical supply company! I would not shop here again, this is probably why they had NO customers in the store!!! read more

Seems I had just the opposite experience as the previous reviewer. I needed a few items for my bum knee recently (brace, cane, walker). Good customer service, young gentleman showed me where all the products were and even got my mom some neosporin and a bandaid for a recent cut on her finger! Nice touch - they have a restroom, which is clean. I didn't use any insurance but the transaction was fine. It did take a little time, there were several customers and the phone was busy. All in all, I would absolutely go back if I needed anything else. read more

The owner was horrible. All he did was complain about other medical companies and insurance companies. Found out he didn't take insurance and told me he'll give me a receipt to submit to my insurance. They had to call him to get the code and he started yelling at them and refused to give them the code. read more

Most of the negative reviews you'll see on here will be from people mad they don't take insurance or prescriptions. It's a medical supply company not a pharmacy, those people should learn the difference and take their hostility elsewhere. The other negative reviews you may see are from people that don't share the same political or religious views as the owner. Jay is a very friendly man and he talks to everyone who enters there as he would talk to an old friend. He just happens to be very transparent about his beliefs and it seems there's quite a few people that can't be respectful enough to accept his beliefs if they don't match thiers. Leaving bad reviews over different views seems a bit childish to me. The store is clean and well stocked at all times. The only time I've had problems finding what I needed was when it was out of his control due to his suppliers not getting the products to him on time due to shortages. Jay is always friendly, helpful and respectful. In case you are wondering, I don't share a lot of his views but I am adult enough to respect them, maybe everyone else should try to be as well. Stay away from Jayco!! Please go to Alpha Surgical Inc. off Smith Street in North Providence for any medical supplies. The owners and workers of Jayco are very arrogant, rude, and unprofessional. They give verbal prices and mark things up to screw their customers. I went in the other day to get a post op boot (Alpha Surgical didn't have my size and it was on back order)...after asking the owner and his son behind the desk a simple question about the brand and cost of the boot, I was yelled at so unprofessionally. The owner, Jay Mignacca, sternly said, "What do you think we are ripping you off?! It costs me $40 to just wait on you!" I was in shock at how they treat their customers. I'm an educated teacher who always gives the utmost respect to everyone I encounter. I did not deserve to be yelled at and treated this way. As I read these reviews, I feel better knowing it wasn't just me. Everyone seems to have a problem when they go into Jayco. This business is very poorly run because they need to realize that building relationships with customers should be their top priority. I will never purchase anything from them, ever! My elderly father went to visit the store recently and informed me the owner began shouting incoherently at him about Obama Care and why he would not accept insurance. My father reported it made him feel extremely uncomfortable and he left the store. read more

I wanted a set of forearm crutches after a recent leg surgery. Jayco had everything that I had been looking for in stock. I was looking at a pair of crutches online, and they were able to match the price. The quality of the ones I picked up were even better than the quality of the online pair. I would highly recommend coming here for any medical supplies. I hope that I never have to go back, though if I do I know that I will be well taken care of here. read more
