Their menu is quite extensive and when we were stuck on what to get, the staff made surprise recommendations based on what they knew we had liked from the previous night which was such a nice touch. Then, whenever we were unsure which version of something to get, they were happy to combine things. So we ended up getting garlic stuffed naans, and the saag aloo combined with the aloo gobi, which is just a level a flexibility normally not afforded in restaurants. Yesterday I visited the restaurant with my old in laws for evening meal . We had ordered dosa and my old relative found uncooked potatoes in her masala dosa. We know mistakes do happen in restaurants- my relative moved the uncooked portions and ate the rest. When the server came to remove the plates we just noted it so that they can correct it for other customer. The guy took it personally went to chef and came back with feedback that the potatoes was rock hard because they were "over cooked" - just bonkers. He also refused to serve us any water while he was happily attending all tables around us , we were just shocked ! We payed the full bill and proceeded to exit the place. Even though I expressedy displeasure not even an apology - we were almost thrown out of restaurant with my old relative. I rally hope our experience was unique and not all customers are treated this way ! Kayal has only gone downhill over the past few visits . Food is bland with very little flavour ! Located at the top end of Newport Pagnell High Street, it's just a short walk from anywhere in the Central town area. It's got a smart white exterior and the building is obviously well cared for by it's owners. If you don't fancy popping in, they do offer orders for collection or delivery too. I believe they offer a discount for collection (if you can be bothered to go to the venue and pick up your order). If you do decide to eat in, you won't be disappointed. As you walk in you will receive a warm and friendly welcome from the staff in the venue. We haven't ever had a problem with reservation or booking and they seem to know most of their regular customers on a first name basis. The interior is crisp, clean and bright. The menu selection is massive (over 8 - 10 pages of Indian yumminess) and they offer banquet menus and a buffet on certain days. The spice indicator is pretty reliable as well, so you can pick a dish to fit your preferred heat levels without worrying. I have tried numerous different dishes at this venue but most recently had the "chef's special" mixed tandoori. The plate was overloaded with different kinds of meat and came with an order of "special bread" (some kind of fried naan type thing). As a top tip, you don't need to order naan with this dish - the bread it comes with is enough! The vegetable side orders are always really tasty too - I personally recommended the Bhindi Bhagee, but I am a huge Okra fan. On our last visit (a group of 6 adults) we ordered 6x mains (ranging from seafood to lamb), 3x rice dishes, 3x naan breads, 3x vegetable side dishes and poppadoms to start. We had a 15% discount (as one of our number became a "loyalty member" for free on the night) and the bill came to £20 per person including a bottle of wine and several beers.
