The breathing and meditation exercises we did before the photoshoot helped me to feel comfortable in front of a camera. Sterling helped me to feel comfortable in my own skin - which to me is priceless. As a light-skinned Pacific Islander, I often felt uncomfortable with my appearance... until I moved to the continental us for college. But even then while I felt adequately assimilated, my soul felt split. This experience has helped me to love myself wholly and fully, marrying my two selves that I had kept separate for too long. Never would I have thought that a photoshoot would allow me that. Sterling's talents are very special and unique. I am forever grateful that our paths crossed. Our friends and family continue to comment on our pictures and how amazing our photographers must have been). With that we decided to use Evantide Photography for our wedding photos. Once again - GORGEOUS! Our wedding was in the Lake Tahoe area and Aaron and Meg spent a few days prior to the wedding scoping out the location, mountain lighting, and finding the perfect photo locations. I was incredibly hesitant to go with an out-of-town photographer, but with the pictures and locations you'd never guess they weren't native to the Tahoe region. In addition to the gorgeous photos, Aaron and Meg are simply wonderful to work with. When we first met them for our engagement photos we were laughing almost the entire time. What I really liked was that they told us what looked good and what .... could look better (as far as poses go). I'm really no model so I really appreciated having someone tell me where and how I should stand for the most-flattering photo. As far as the wedding goes, Meg was incredibly organized with timelines and the important-players. I had a wedding planner that I anticipated would help with that type of stuff - but instead Meg came through and picked up the slack so that I wouldn't have to.
