What triggered me to write this review? Well after a posting of a recent Yelp gig, a friend remarked to me that I looked like - "Drakes producer" in one of the pics!!! LMAO! Ok do I even know how to play the flute if my life depended on it, to let alone be worthy of being positioned in front of a production board!?! Hahaha! Emily is undoubtedly proficient and passionate about her work, which shows through her pictures! My fiance and I were on a week long trip beginning from Oregon to Washington and finished in Vancouver. Months leading up to our excursion, I was searching for a 'proposal' photographer in the area where we will spend the last couple of days of our trek. I had a specific look in mind, and after going through many photographers nothing matched my vision. At that point I came across Emily's page on here, I was somewhat hesitant from the number of reviews she had, however when i viewed her site, and social media page I was sold! I booked her immediately! Emily was extremely receptive to my questions and suggestions. She helped to ease my mind by sharing her experiences and going through different possibilities which made me feel more comfortable. Since she's a local to the area, she was able to handle everything I tossed at her. Even leading up to the 'huge day', she confirmed my final location and how she was going to set herself up in order to capture the right angles while staying incognito (she wore a black trench coat like Inspector Gadget and had like 3 cameras under it - it was amazing!). Capilano Bridge is a wonderful well-protected park only a couple of minutes North of Vancouver. This was the perfect place for a memorable proposal over their popular 140 meters suspension bridge. After the nerve-racking minute (She said, Yes! What's more, I didn't drop the ring!). She had the two of us model for her all through the park. She made us feel really comfortable by becoming acquainted with us as a team and suggesting the best ways to pose for the camera. Once Emily warmed up, you could tell that this wasn't her first rodeo (whatever that means); she would set up her shots by moving all through the bridges and platforms like a feline, while my Fiance and I remained there thinking about whether she would ever return. Haha, it was great! To sum everything up. We are more than grateful for the opportunity to work with Emily Nicole and couldn't have picked a better photographer to capture this special moment. She thinks about connecting with her customers and thus you feel good and engaged while on the photoshoot. I had already went ahead and did some research on some of the photographers I followed on Social Media. I didn't want just any one to take our photos. I really wanted to make sure I was hiring the right person. I mean, you don't want someone that shoots club photos to do your engagement shoots right? or someone's portfolio theme is very somber and dramatic (Especially the wedding and or Engagement shoots). Moses' portfolio, and things he posted on his social media site showed that he was passionate about his work. He experiments and goes out and scouts for perfect location. Despite the fact he specializes in wedding, his side projects look amazing. Everything he did looked like it was done like a pro. We did not know what to expect or what to do. Moses met up with us twice before the photo shoot to talk about what we wanted to do it and how to go about it. He was very out going, open to suggestions and was able to make some amazing suggestions, that we didn't think of, for our shoot. When it came to taking the pictures, you can tell Moses wanted everything to be perfect. He was very out going, laid back. Guided us with minimal direction He wasn't there to dictate all our poses, he was merely there to make us feel like ease and be in our element. I always felt awkward being in front of a camera. I was kind of afraid it would be like a paparazzi type shoot. Moses did such an amazing job that it didn't feel like he was there taking pictures of us. The final production was amazing. It was everything that I expected. I know the word amazing was over used, but that was the quality of work Moses put into these photos. TLDR; seriously, you're making a mistake if you're not hiring this man to take your pictures. He would bring out the beauty in everything around you.
