The Bangor office doesn't have its own Yelp entry (that I could find) so I'm using the Old Town one for now (and I'm happy to move it over later if possible). Although the staff were polite and efficient, I have to leave an "ok" review because of what happened during my visit today. I'm a new patient at the Bangor office, so I was given some paperwork to fill out. One of the waivers I signed was for an eye scan that I assumed was just part of my normal eye exam/prescription. I don't recall anything on the waiver itself indicating that it was not covered under a normal visit/exam. None of the staff explained to me that the scan wasn't covered by insurance; but in the spirit of fairness, one of their waivers did mention patient responsibility for knowing about your own insurance coverage. That being said, I feel as if I was mislead by omission. It cost me 40 dollars out of pocket, and while it is perfectly legal to hold me accountable for my mistake... it was a mistake made honestly and innocently. I've had nothing but good experiences in their Old Town office... I vividly remember as a young child feeling nervous to get an eye exam, and I remember how the staff went out of their way to make me feel at ease. The reason I didn't double-check with the receptionist about my paperwork today was simple: I implicitly trusted Gaetani Eye Care to have my best interests at heart. 40 dollars might not seem like a lot to most people, but I'm currently navigating a difficult chapter in my life. 40 dollars is a lot to me. If I had been told ahead of time that the scan was not covered, I would certainly have declined it- or perhaps been forced to take my business elsewhere. I do not expect, or desire, a refund of any kind. The paperwork Gaetani gave me was legally binding and, in the grand scheme of life, perhaps this is an inexpensive lesson for me. As a sign of good faith, I would be more than happy to edit this review and leave a glowing 5 stars if I could receive an apology. Hopefully this will prevent someone else from making my mistake in the future, or even inspire some minor policy change. [please excuse any punctuation or formatting errors]

Have been going to Gaetani Eye Care for years. I have never experienced any problems making an…read moreappointment for an eye exam. The staff have been friendly and have always found them to be helpful. They have an assortment of eyeglass frames to choose from and I have received them within days of ordering them. They have always taken care of billing my insurance and sending me the bill for what wasn't covered. My husband and I have never experienced difficulties with errors on our prescriptions and we have found Dr Hall and Dr Higgins more than willing to work with us to find the best fit for us when we wanted contacts. I definitely recommend giving Gaetani Eye Care a try if you are looking for a hassle free, professional atmosphere to have an eye exam and purchase stylish glasses or contacts.

We are not antique seekers and that is the focus here, but there are a lot of rooms and a barn full…read moreof stuff, so some of it could be considered as just used. They carry items from many vendors, which make for a lot of variety. My wife found a couple of items she is interested in at a reasonable price, but she wants to give them a little thought. When we were there, one of the rooms and the barn had a 20% off sale, so perhaps they usually have specials of some sort going on. There is everything from trading cards and books to decor and furniture, so it is at least a nice outing on a winter day. It is on Stetson Road, aka Rte. 222 for us when we take that route to Bangor. It is on the corner where the three roads merge near the gazebo and the ATV trail crossing. It is not very accessible. My wife had to leave her walker a couple of times to check out vendor stalls, so I can't imagine a wheelchair getting very far.

Bathrooms were clean, lighting was good, parking is plentiful. I love reading actual books so I walked away with some good ones and even a wolf calendar for my son who really wanted one. The Broadway Shopping Center is an icon in Bangor. I grew up going thee once in a while as my…read morefamily lived in the area and I went by there when I walked to Bangor High School. I seem to have an ancient memory of seeing Santa Claus even earlier there, but it is hazy. I continued to go there after I moved away from home as my mother and siblings were still in the area. Now we have moved back to central Florida and occasionally have reason to shop there. I have gone to the Salvation Army store already and had lunch at Governors, and I assume at some point I will be trying out the TJ Max/ Home Goods and the new KFC, which used to be located across Broadway. I don't know if I will be going to the Wendys or other stores there, but I am glad that with the loss of so many other businesses I remember from Bangor, this shopping center is still in my old extended neighborhood.
