I am specifically reviewing the portrait studio. Just wanted to provide a warning to be patient with the timing. I went in for professional head shots but there were tons of families lined up for both holiday photos and the new trend of "awkward" photos. The photographer was great but he was short staffed that day and was very behind schedule. Luckily I was able to get in and out because I had simple photos but for largest groups it might be longer. Be patient! They do good work and produce nice photos. read more

This is for the Portrait studio. I had an appointment for pet photography. After we waited an hour after the scheduled time, we had to go home as I could not keep my cat in my car much longer. After another hour passes, we get the call that they were ready for us. I told them I had to cancel due to the wait and was told we would not get charged the cancellation fee. After a few weeks, I was still charged. Doesn't feel very fair to me read more

Had a great experience shopping at JC Penney's yesterday. The store was clean and organized. It was also pretty quiet so it was easy to keep away from other shoppers while browsing clothes. Also, their clearance racks were well organized and had a great variety of good quality and trendy shirts and dresses on sale. The cashier was also friendly and the checkout experience was quick. I'd definitely go back to this location again. read more

One of the few stores inside the mall, where the whole family can shop. You have a wide variety of clothing and shoes to choose from. There is also a section inside dedicated to some household things such as, kitchenwares, and bedding. The wonderful thing about this store is their coupons. When you catch a sale, you are actually saving money. read more

Awful portrait studio experience. I made an appointment last week online for today at 7 PM for awkward family photos of my adult siblings and I. The portrait studio, store and the whole mall close at 8. I got a phone call the same day from an annoyed employee who made it clear to me that they close the portrait studio at 7 and I needed to come earlier. No problem, I told her we could show up earlier whenever she needed us too and she said 6:30. She called me again today to confirm that we needed to be there early, again with an annoyed tone. We showed up at 6:20 to be on the safe side, there was one family waiting to go into the studio and one family trying to cash out. 10 mins after waiting outside the woman came out and had us fill out a paper and told us she'd be with us shortly. The family checking out didn't leave until 6:45, waiting on the photographer the whole time. The family in front of us finally went in and didn't finish until about 7:40 and then we were able to go in the studio while that family looked through their photos. We brought some inspo pics and she instantly told us oh we're not doing half of these. She proceeded to complain the whole time about how she was the only worker, which I get there are staffing issues, but you don't need to complain about it nonstop. We finally finished shooting our photos around 8, after she told us she had to take individual photos to hit her quota which we didn't want. When she took us out to the computer to look at the photos, the other family was still there ready to cash out. Then she went through our photos and added on black and white versions without saying anything to us. We finally got to the checkout screen around 8:15, and noticed she charged an additional $30 for the black and whites that we didn't want or ask for. We asked her what it was for and let her know we didn't want that. She was annoyed and said if I take it off I have to cancel and redo the whole thing. We said yeah that's fine we don't want to pay for something we didn't ask for. While this was going on the store manager had to come help run a JCP credit card for the other family. We finally got to check out and the machine took my card but didn't transmit properly to the computer so she had no idea if it went through or not. She said call tomorrow if we don't get an email and didn't give me a receipt of any kind or any information on how to get our digital album. We ended up finally leaving at 8:30 and the manager had to let us out because the store closed and the door was locked. From start to end the whole thing was an awful experience and I 1000% do not recommend giving them your money. read more

This is a fine store. They have clothes for the whole family here. And sales all the time according in the salesperson who helped us find something specific. Parking here is pretty easy but its a mall so can get busy. Two stories here, men's is downstairs. It was crowded when we were there because there was a big sale. But things moved quickly and smoothly. read more

I recently purchased a washer & dryer from here! There was a great sale going on and the salesperson was super friendly. Her name escapes me but she was short and had fully gray hair, although was probably early 40s. She was very knowledgeable about the products and made the process quick and simple. I never thought I'd be excited to purchase appliances. Being a grown up is weird. Overall, would highly recommend! They haven't been delivered yet so I cannot comment on that portion. I like going to JCPenney to look for clothes. There's a decent selection of items and a large section of clearance to go through. The JCPenney in the Galleria mall is not the most organized of all the JCP stores, but it does seem to have selections that other stores do not have. The staff are friendly and helpful. One odd thing that I noticed is that it seems that every time I visit this store, at least one fitting room on the second floor is closed so customers have to try to find another vacant and available fitting room to use. read more

If your penny is very jealous of all your nickels and dimes, then it's a "Jealousy Penny". But there's nothing to be jealous about if you shop here, because it has a lot of great stuff that, if anything, will make people jealous of you. For example I got some fantastic Levis from the other location, and then when I wanted to take them back and get a smaller size (I've been losing a lot of weight), the Eastern Hills location didn't have the size I wanted, so I came here instead and they did the exchange *and* gave me money back because the jeans were on sale. Excellent customer service. However, other than the sales, JC Penney prices a lot of people out, including myself (usually), so I can't go over a 3 for them. read more

I was originally going to review my shopping experience at the JCPenny location at Eastern Hills, but wow, this place is just so much more memorable! I had purchased a pair of shoes at Eastern Hills, but the salesperson had forgotten to remove the anti-theft tag. Since I had already shopped at that Eastern Hills store, I decided to go to the Walden location to get the tag removed and to check out what this location had in the way of men's wear. The rain had kept the store empty on a weekday night. I parked in the covered parking and made my way to the empty customer service center where "Ralph" was busy folding clothes. When I presented my bag with the box of shoes from the other store, I told him that the tag on the shoes needed to be removed. Now imagine... THE STARE. That look of accusation, of disbelief from a customer service person who seemed trained and pre-programmed to catch shoplifters and scam artists. Ralph sneered at the bag and asked me if I had my receipt. "Of course I have my receipt." I pulled the receipt out from the bag and showed it to him. He examined it slowly as if he were an expert in counterfeit currency. After a minute, he said, "Well, it looks like it's in order." (He was tougher than the border guards!) I replied, "Of course, RALPH, why wouldn't it be?" And an interesting thing happened. When he realized that I had taken notice of his name tag, he quickly got out the tag-removal-thingy and said jokingly that whoever left the tag on at Eastern Hills should be fired. "That would be Brad," I replied. "I remember names." Then he sticks out his hand to offer me a handshake. "No hard feelings?" "Not at all, RALPH." I left to go wander around the men's department. I ended up buying a couple more items, but Ralph had left the register so a saleswoman checked out my order, handed me my receipt and asked me to fill out the online survey for a 10% off coupon. "We appreciate your feedback. Customer service is very important to us," she said. read more

It's not my favorite store, but when your son needs some business clothing - this is the place to go for sure - great clearance items, huge selection of sale items and one of the best, but talkative people you will ever have cash you out! Store has a huge selection! read more

Because this is located in the Walden Galleria, which is the largest and nicest mall in the Buffalo area (not counting Niagara Falls, which has a very nice outlet mall,) this is correspondingly a pretty nice JCPenney. It has all the bells and whistles you could want from a mid-range department store that is still stuggling for relevance, trying to fit into the narrow slot between Walmart and Target at the low end and Macys and Nordstrom (and above) at the higher end. They've been having ups and downs for years, but they still seem to be pretty OK. We spent most of our recent visit in the men's department, where Lee was doing some shopping for good deals on work appropriate wear. They've got a pretty good midrange selection, plus we lucked out on being there when they were having an awesome sale, so we got some great deals on shirts and other clothing. On the less than awesome side, the bathrooms were a bit unkempt and run-down looking, like something that needs to be attended more. There aren't as many places to sit while your counterpart is in the dressing room. Their Wifi was less than spectacular, I was unable to load any pages while connected. If you're in the mall and have some time to spend to check this store out, and they're having good deals, be sure to stop in and check it out. read more

I recently purchased a washer and dryer set. I love it and loved the customer service with JCP BUT....The reason for 3 stars is because the delivery service they use is terrible. I have a bit of a long steep driveway and they refused to deliver my items even after I had it completely plowed and clear for them. I even have a circle at the end of my driveway so they didn't even need to turn around, and I told them this. Then, they wouldn't deliver it to the closest JCP, they took it to the one almost an hour away and I had to find my own way of picking it up. Thankfully Tina, the JCP supervisor, was more than helpful and made this annoyance somewhat bearable. They need a new delivery service. read more

I am a Christmas mall shopper...some people only go to church on holidays, I only mall shop for Christmas. I stopped in here for a few things and ended up stopping at the Sephora "counter"...I always pass up the large stand alone Sephora store for this one in jCP. The women here are amazing! Super friendly and helpful. One of the women helped me choose the correct color for my brows and didn't seem put out at all when I was undecided. I eventually bought a few items, spent a lot and left a happy camper...errrr makeup-er. After makeup I needed some earrings and two more women that helped me out were really friendly and nice. As much as I don't enjoy shopping I enjoyed all of my interactions here. Good job, ladies! read more
