Amazing customer service through the whole store! However several fitting rooms closed and the ladies fitting room that is open you have no cash registers anymore! Walking all over the store to try on clothes and then find an open register is beyond ridiculous. The public bathrooms at least the women's is so disgusting! Hot smelly and very dirty the whole place needs to be pressure washed or steam cleaned. read more

I scheduled a relaxer. After driving 45 minutes I am told I can't do it because I wasn't supposed to wash my hair for two days beforehand. My hair dresser then recommends a quick keratin treatment that she says only costs $50. Since I drove so far I agree. When I go to check out the charge is $75 but she gives me a 20% discount for being a new customer which brings it down to $50. The next day my hair is completely frizzy the problem I went there to resolve. So I was over charged for a service I didn't intended on and it didn't work. read more

JC Penney has been here for a LONG time. We've stopped and shopped there and will most likely continue to do so because they do have sales that make the prices comparable to everywhere else. However, this visit was just to have a watch battery replaced. Simple enough, right? WRONG! I stood in the middle of their jewelry department for a solid 15 minutes (you try it) waiting for SOME kind of acknowledgement - nevermind help. NOTHING. Two ladies working there both saw me, both KNEW I was there for something. Yes, they were waiting on other people but they were also running about getting items out of cases, going to answer the phone, looking for other things. Not ONCE did any of them say, "someone will be right with you," or "it'll just be a moment," "kiss my @#$%" or ANYTHING! I've worked in retail and the customer service business for over 30 years and that level of disregard to the customer is unacceptable. I ended up leaving and going to a local watch repair shop where I was in, helped, and out in UNDER 5 minutes. We may go back to Penney's for other things, but it will NOT be in the jewelry department. Shame, too, because I saw a Seiko there I liked. read more

disappointing, the salespeople harassed customers to complete applications and took advantage of an elderly customer. She did not want the credit card and the sales girl lied to her then no one in customer service would help her. Also, every announcemen was in some dialect of Spanish not proper Spanish. The store had a variety of shoppers but, no follow up shopping incentives in any other language not even English? Only the Spanish speaking employees would have understood not everyone was included by the Manager today. Felt excluded and will never return. read more

This store is messy pretty much in every single department. I visited the children's, women's, men's, jewelry, and shoes; and every department was a cluttered mess. I really wanted to take a look at the Childrens clearance department but there was no organization in the least bit. Sizes were scattered, mixed together, and mid marks. I thought I was going to lose it when I checked out. The lady checking me out stopped 5x to talk to employees and answer a couple of questions. It took 17 mins to complete my transactions (and there were no delays as in price checks, taking off hangars, ect. I did all of the work ahead of time. The delay was because she kept helping everyone else but checking me out at the register. The quality of JC Penny's has severely gone downhill over the past few years. I used to think it was a high quality store, now I just think of it as another Walmart. read more

Best watch associates in town. I tried the place where I bought the watch "Kohls" to get them to re-size it, but they would not re-size it without my receipt which was in New York City. So I got my receipt, took back the watch to Kohls went to JCPennys knowing they sale the watch I wanted, and they re-sized it for me for free, and were very nice and professional. Would go back here for watches, repairs, and re-sizings. JCPenny has also done an entire re-model of the inside, surprised me when I walked in since the last time I went was super ghetto. I did pick up a couple cat shirts "Check Meowt" and "Come at me bro" haha. read more

The cashier I dealt with in the jewelry dept. was friendly. Though it was apparent they didn't bother to hire enough people to cover the Christimas shopping rush. Line was long and slow. Dressing room had trash and clothes everywhere, the return rack was covered and a giant pile of clothes under it on the floor. Some parts of sales floor were totally trashed, mixed up, clothes on the floor and thrown all over the tables. Granted that's mostly due to rude customers, but had they had enough associates it shouldn't have got so out of control. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. I stopped in on my lunch break to look at some of the suits on sale and asked for some assistance in sizing. I was told someone would be right over I waited 20 minutes and asked again and the cashier told me I would have to wait because they didn't have time. She then proceeded to go back to gossiping with the other cashier! I was in shock as I was prepared to spend a couple hundred dollars but I walked out after standing there for a few more minutes and repeatedly receiving nasty looks from the cashier! I will take my money elsewhere and suggest everyone else do the same! I am disgusted by the way they treat customers who are willing to spend their hard earned money! read more

I had some time to kill while getting tires rotated and oil change so went to mall next door and J C Penney and picked up 3 inexpensive end of season polo shirts. At checkout the cashier asked me if I had any coupons and I said no. She then asked me to google JCPenney coupons and led me a 10 dollar coupon deal. Great customer service! I haven't been to a JCPenney in years. Pretty happy with this one. read more

Seriously y'all. Open. More. Registers. You've already reduced the number of available registers, the one in the women's department (near Liz Claiborne) is almost ALWAYS closed, meaning - everyone has to hike to the other end of the store to the junior's department. Today, there were THREE employees "working" (mostly gabbing) in the LC area, big sign up "register closed." Took me longer to check out than it did for me to find what I wanted to begin with. I've stopped shopping JCP most of the time just because I know it's going to be an act of Congress just to find someone willing and able to take my money & really, I shouldn't have to HUNT for a register. Also - with so many employees wandering around not working a register...WHY is the store always so unorganized? Tables aren't folded, clothes are stuffed in the same general area - but not actually grouped on 4-ways like they should be. The accessories department is a dumpster fire. The men's department needs to just be thrown away & redone completely. Never, not ONCE seen anyone resembling management on the floor, which is why the store looks like a garage sale. read more

This review is specifically for the JCPenny Salon. Typically I go to the salon to get my haircut and I'm ecstatic about my results but the last time I went in I had TERRIBLE service! And it takes A LOT to disappoint me! I went in to get a cute short haircut, only to end up with my hair butchered by one of the new employees that transferred from a different salon. Typically I get my hair styled after a haircut but I had an appointment later that day so I decided not to style after my cut. When I got home to style my own hair, my boyfriend told me that the back of my head looked terrible. I looked in the mirror and saw that he WASN'T joking!! My "short haircut" was literally a man's haircut but worse. The layers were not thinned out (my hair is super thick) and it was very choppy looking. Not only that but my hair was different lengths! So I calmly called to reschedule another appointment to get my hair fixed by the same woman, I wasn't going to cry about it when I could just go back in and get it fixed. So when I called and talked to my hairstylist on the phone she seemed to not want to get me to schedule THAT day and squeezed me in at 8:30 p.m. I agreed to make the appointment at 8:30 p.m. and she sounded a little surprised and disappointed that I agreed to come in. That night I went in at 8:30 p.m. and sat down while my hairstylist finished up with her customer. I waited there patiently, only to be told that she had another appointment in front of me and that she would be right with me. So while waiting the other employees constantly kept starring at my terrible haircut and made me feel awful and uncomfortable. Nobody provided sincerity, casual conversation, a smile or anything. I was basically the "annoying customer" to them but can you blame me? My hair was terrible, yet I went in with a smile on my face, hoping to resolve my dilemma with an easy do-over! A little over an hour later my hairstylist finished her "so called" appointment who just so happened to be an employee at JCPenny!!! And I recall the woman who had her hair done tell my hairstylist, "Thank you for fitting me in last minute"! By then the doors were closed and lights were being turned off by employees throughout the store. My hairstylist FINALLY got to me and rushed through my haircut! Mid-haircut she actually had the NERVE to sigh as if I were some burden!! LADY, if you DIDN'T have the time to schedule me that day then you should have scheduled me a different day!!! My stylist finally finished my haircut and it still wasn't adequate, it's safe to say that I will NEVER go back into the JCPenny salon and will be taking my business elsewhere. Best of luck to anyone who gets their hair cut short by this woman! I would mention her name BUT I'm nice enough to not sabotage her name! read more
