Very clean, spacious and helpful staff - but as is standard these days - you have to seek the staff out. But today once I did they were extremely helpful and I had not one but two staff members finding solutions for me Ample parking and the location super convenient since within 100 yards you have both BQ and Range whose slightly different store content ensure that if you can't find what you are looking for here you ain't going to find it anywhere! These tend to sell the spares and parts that could not get in a B&Q or Focus. The store is fairly large inside and stocks a variety of different items for home and garden as you would expect. I like the fact that the staff are helpful and friendly in here and I think that it makes such a difference compared to the, sometimes rather intimidating staff at the big chain DIY stores. They always ask me if I need any help or advice in here and they seem to genuinely want to help their customers. I have found that the prices are fairly cheap for a DIY store too, which is always a bonus. I would recommend this to anyone in the local area!

A deceptively large store once you get inside, the name may initially sound like it's bitten off a bit more than it can chew, but it certainly makes a very good go at it. Numerous times I've been in looking to pick up one thing or another, and (unlike U2) have always found what I'm looking for. From plants to power tools and flooring to light fittings, you can assume that if you're looking for something in terms of DIY, Dennings will probably have it. Better yet, the shop has a charming, local feel, a much more pleasant atmosphere than the soulless chains, and the staff are always knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended.

You can click onto quite a bargain at Devlins with their offcuts. They provide a free measuring up service, carry a lot of stock and tend to be able to fit quite quickly. The store used to be in an old converted petrol station which always looked a bit scruffy, when they moved to neare the canal it improved their appeal considerably. I have had an off cut of carpet edged here and made into a runner style mat for the hall. This means it matched the carpet and i got to choose the size so that it fits the space instead of making do. I recomentd this store.

Wonderful sawing technique???) but I have actually popped in here a couple of times and always found the staff to be such sweeties that I thought I would give it a go. Tucked away between houses on Northfield Road this is a building supply company that specialises in wood and timber. I've been in before to ask about chippings for some misguided (and ultimately doomed) gardening project I had in mind and they let me have a load without even charging me. I've also popped in to get some planks and pallets (again a gardening project that never really happened) and they hardly charged me anything at all. Staff are lovely and if you live in Harborne and want a new fence panel (or have grandiose plans for raised beds etc) then I would definitely recommend this place.
