Stopped in for a quick lunch on a Saturday. Sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and had good service. The drink was well-poured. Music was good and not too loud which is good for conversation. I thought the menu was well-rounded although a bit on the higher side of prices. I ordered a BLT, one of my favorites. When the food came it looked fantastic, fries were good and it was served with a pickle spear which was fantastic. The sandwich had plenty of lettuce and tomato which I love, but there wasn't enough bacon to call it a great sandwich. Really not enough to taste with all the veggies. Came with about 10 friends and they were ready for our reservation and took great care of us! We shared a few apps which were all yummy and I personally ordered the bourbon cowboy burger which was delicious! I asked for some pink in the middle ... and usually I can order a burger medium and it still arrives well done at other places ... but JDs gave me my burger just right! It was very tasty! We stopped in on Monday on our way home from a trip down South. Restaurants in Springville aren't typically in our normal area of eating out, but we have friends who live in the area so we met up. One of the only local beer places open on a Monday, we were excited to try something new. I want to start with saying that our waitress was great! No problems with the service, and the restaurant is a decent size with ample seating. We were actually the only people not sitting in the bar. The food was a letdown. I started out with French onion soup. It seemed to just be beef broth with some undercooked onions and too much bread. For my meal I asked the waitress for recommendations. She said one of her favs is the steak quesadilla so I went with that. Once I picked it up and took a bite, It was absolutely just pouring grease all over my plate. I think the peppers and onions were probably just overoiled for the sake of sautéing and the grease was just absolutely disgusting. It also made the quesadilla quite soggy. Someone else in our group had the cowboy quesadilla though and enjoyed it. Another in our party had the chicken fingers. She's a chicken finger connoisseur and gave them a 6 out of 10. They looked delicious but she said they could have been crispier. My fiance had the caprese burger. He said it came up short in the cheese department and he has definitely had better specialty burgers. But the fries were enjoyable. I forgot that we also had the garlic cheese bite appetizer. we were envisioning cheese curds but it seemed more like a mix between that and a bite sized grilled cheese. It's a nice place. Clean and spacious, music wasn't blaring. My wife and I had a burger, wings, and a beef on weck. I'd give the burger a 7/10 as I ordered it medium and it was definitely well done, fries were good. The wings were maybe a 4/10. I ordered extra crispy medium and BBQ and they were not even remotely crispy. Also their medium sauce was more like a weak mild, way too much butter. The beef on weck is an 8/10, wasn't a huge fan of the sweet potato fries though; the sauce was pretty nasty. The service was good and I would try this place again. read more

Can't say we had bad service because we had no service at all. We were seated and given menus but were then ignored for more than 15 minutes. I understand places get busy, short staffing and such but there were only 2 other tables with customers and and a lot of room at the bar. Not only hungry but thirsty we moved to the bar to hopefully get a drink and maybe some food. Bartender looked our way but made drinks for other patrons then went outside to where 2 other girls were standing. Decided we should leave, thanked them for the "service ". We generally wind up here every few weeks for the last 2 years. We have never regretted it. A warning on the unique, delicious soups such as pickle or rueben. You CAN make a meal of one bowl. We generally share a bowl but sometimes if there are 2 choices that proves difficult. I would like to recommend a particular dish but ALL have been great. Springville is a very small town, so your choice of bars are very limited here. This place brings a new bar and restaurant to this small town. It's modern and new, which is a plus. I came here to watch my brother play in his band. They have live music frequently. The place was pretty packed. I didn't come to have dinner, but I did have an order of the onion petals. They were pretty good, not too greasy like some. The menu did seem pretty good from the surface. They have many different options for alcohol. My mixed drink wasn't too expensive. Wow what a hidden gem! Stopped here on our way back from eville over the weekend amazing country decor friendly staff from the moment you walk in the door. Service was on point. I have been to JD's a few times. I have never been disappointed. The food is very good and PLENTIFUL. I love their onion petals and sauce. This place in my opinion has the best food in Springville. Great beer selection as well with reasonable prices. I got a pint of Yuengling for $3.00. I gave only 4 stars because although the service is fast, the staff that I encountered was not friendly but was rather dour. Also, the tables have some knotholes on the top of them. The knotholes are dirty. One time I got a soup that was cold (it was immediately replaced). I will keep going there however because the food and beer are worth the trip. read more

Two Words: PIZZA LOGS! What an incredible WNY delicacy! In all seriousness, Springville doesn't have a lot to choose from food-wise. I was so pleasantly shocked to see how new and modern JD's is. Their menu is great and we enjoyed several appetizers and drinks at our table. Everything was really great. Our service was a little lacking as it seems that one server was handling all of the tables in the entire restaurant during Friday lunch. I am from out of town, but next time I'm in Springville to visit my family, I will absolutely come back to eat here. We drove to Springville to go to the auction and get some fresh vegetables only to find that we were too late. So we decided to find a place to eat. My wife suggested JDs Brew Pub, after googling places to eat. We walked in and it was spacious, clean and had a fare amount of people at the bar, always a good sign. We were seated at a table in the bar area, which is always good for us as we are people watchers. After a quick look at the drink menu, and our waitress bringing us food menus, we decided to have the onion petals as an appetizer, my wife ordered the mushroom onion swiss burger, and I ordered the suicide chicken wings. I love hot chicken wings, but most places just make a sauce that melts your face, with zero real flavor. The onion petals were delivered quickly and included a zesty dipping sauce and the bleu cheese dipping sauce that my wife had asked for. We are also fans of good bleu cheese and we were not disappointed with Jds bleu cheese. The onion petals were good size and came out hot and not greasy. We had a couple drinks, which were reasonably priced, and then came the entrees. The waitress came out with the burger for my wife and it was good sized, and loaded with onions and mushrooms and had a side of french fries that my wife said were really good too. The burger itself was perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful with well cooked onions and mushrooms, my wife was very happy with this. My chicken wings were delivered by the waitress and the back of the house manager, Mike, who explained that the chicken wings were very hot, and he was sorry if I couldn't eat all of them. I smelled the chicken wings and they did smell very hot. I dove into them, and I was not disappointed. The heat was intense, nose running, eyes watering, but the flavor, the flavor, these were sauced right. The flavor was that of roasted peppers, and they were super hot, just the way I like them. After finishing our food, both of us very happy about our meal, we spoke with Mike again and he talked to us about how he makes the suicide sauce and the peppers that were included in it. I REALLY want JD's to succeed and I will give it another chance. But I didn't have the best experience there. I hope they see these reviews and adjust. First, there was construction/paint supplies still in the main dining room. That was odd, but ok, they are still new. Second, we had a slightly larger group and wound up having to put tables together ourselves because the waitresses made no attempt to really accommodate that. (To be fair, we weren't really forthright with how we wanted to sit.) Third, the meals were...ok. The sandwich I ordered (Reuben) was VERY good. My wife ordered an opened face pork sandwich, with BBQ sauce. The menu said opened face, and came with coleslaw. When the meal came out (A very long time later and at different times for everyone in our party), it was a closed sandwich, a very small amount of BBQ sauce on the side (Which we had to ask for again) and no coleslaw. The pork was VERY dry and 'eh' tasting. (Again, to be fair, everyone has their opinion on how they like their food.) When we asked why it wasn't opened face or with coleslaw, the waitress told her that wasn't the way the Chef made it. We pointed out that it says that on the menu. The waitress just shrugged and repeated what she said. She then said, "Well, I will try and get some coleslaw.." which she eventually brought out. The atmosphere was ok, my Reuben was really good, but there was nothing that really impressed me and the service/food for my wife was def. 1 star, and odd. I would think, you would serve what is on the menu... I really hope it gets better. I think it has great potential. --- UPDATE: I feel that I had to re-do this review. I went this past Saturday while I was snowmobiling (They have an easy access to their back door for sleds). Things were 100% better. I still had to wait a little bit longer than I would at most places for my order... but the service was great. I sat at the back bar and ordered a Reuben. It was fanatic. My drink was full the entire time I was there, and I didn't even have to ask. The waitress was fast, attentive, kind, and nothing was screwed up. Much better job guys! I loved it! The dinners came out separately over the course of 15-20 minutes for 9 of us, and the food was all cold or room temperature, nothing was like it just came off the grill. We came in for a meal after flying in from Florida. I had a cup of oriental beef stew and broiled lemon pepper haddock. The stew came out and look so good. However it was so salty I couldn't eat it. The waitress was kind enough to replace it with a different soup which was good. The fish dinner was served and again the fish was so salty I couldn't eat it. My husband agreed. This is one of the worst restaurants I have been to in quite some time. We got their order drinks and appetizers our appetizers didn't come out until 2 minutes before our food then when we got our food 80% of it was cold and they forgot to even make my 11 year olds food so then by the time we were completely done eating they finally brought his food out. To get any of our drinks or anything filled we had to flag down the waitress and it was a hassle to do so there was only four tables in the restaurant that had people at them and they couldn't keep up with that. Then when I asked to talk to the manager he sent the waitress back out and said that he was too busy to come out and talk to us and they wouldnt even take anything off the bill.In my opinion JD's has bad food bad service and they rank under McDonald's read more

The beef was delicious but the roll was not Kummelweck, I understand that it is difficult to get real kummelweck rolls in other parts of the country, but here in Western New York there is no excuse. I want the business to succeed, however: We waited an two hours for a table of 8 to get our food, it was not busy in there. The "Draft" beer came out of a bottle and it didn't fill the cup so the bartender filled the rest with some draft beer- Weird? I watched the bartender pour it and when I asked the waitress "so the beer isn't draft?" she said yes it is, I told her kindly I saw it being poured out of a bottle... I strongly recommend a better bartender. The waitresses were not friendly and acted like they have never waited tables before, they never apologized or acted concerned with how we the customers felt or if we were satisfied. I asked 5 times for hot sauce, and we all had to ask for water refills- even then the waitress acted like she couldn't be bothered with it. We were not a huge table but had two waitresses and even then couldn't get good service. They were very slow and VERY forgetful, along with a ton of confusion on their part. It was a long night! They served us the wrong type of beer and the waitresses let drinks sit at the bar to get warm before they brought them over to us. The dinners came out separately over the course of 15-20 minutes.....the food was all cold or room temperature, nothing was like it just came off the grill, except one plate. The other order was wrong that came out late so we had to wait even longer. The waitress was rude when we told her it wasn't what we ordered.
