I was looking for an RV Park close to my parent's home but there were other considerations as well. I started the process more than a month prior to our travel, after looking at the property online I called the property management company and started my inquiry with Debra she was very friendly and provided me with answers to all my questions. I knew there were still a lot of displaced people from the 2020 hurricanes that devastated the area in and around Lake Charles I also knew there were a lot of out of town workers that were taking up a lot of RV sites in the area while working on the numerous projects at the petrochemical plants. Debra is a great communicator and followed up with me as our trip approached, a little more than a week out we confirmed a site and everything was set. I was assigned site #17 a nice drive-through site that would accommodate our 40' MotorCoach and our Jeep Wrangler that was in tow. The utilities hookups were outstanding each site has accommodation for 30 amp and 50 amp electrical service, water and sewer, all of the utilities are very well maintained we experienced no issues. The site was very easy to access even with my big rig I simply pulled in without having to make any corrections, pulling out of the site was just as easy. The park was nearly filled but the sites are laid out in a manner that no one is on top of one another offering some privacy - the park is very quite and well maintained, it ended up being exactly what we were looking for. It's very difficult to find out about an area prior to arriving, this RV Park is in close proximity to I-10 and is located on a non-congested section of Hwy 90, the entrance is gated and the area felt very safe. I'd definitely stay here again if a site is available...

Let me start out by saying I've never stayed here, I just recently stopped in to look at the…read moreproperty for a possible future stay when planning a trip to the area to visit my elderly parents. Although the office was closed a manager was onsite and the office was unlocked so I went in to get some information and requested permission to drive through the "park" and check out the RV sites and amenities. I will say the young lady I spoke with was extremely friendly and provided me with everything I requested. It's July 2023 and this place still looks like it's still in recovery from past hurricanes, the potential is here but the ownership seems to struggle to execute what's needed to revive this spacious RV Park. Being this was formerly a Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park for a number of years there is a lot of infrastructure however it's not been well maintained and this could be due to a number of reasons including the inability to make a capital investment due to the current cash flow and ROI. I appreciate that management allowed me to do some exploring of the property on my own, but after doing that unfortunately I would not consider staying here at this time, hopefully they can make the investment before it further deteriorates - the sites and roads need a lot of attention and it seems like some residents have been here for a long time. It also appears that some of the amenities, water park and pool have also been negatively impacted from the lack of maintenance, there are lots of ruts, potholes and the landscaping needs some attention although the main entrance seems to get the most attention it's not a true reflection of what's behind the gate. This is a prime location for a RV Park so I'll keep checking on their progress but there's lots of work to do...

Jellystone Park system has taken back over this RV park. Apparently, after reading the reviews, they have really cleaned up the area. We stayed in one of the cabins and as expected, it's totally without bed linens and towels. Fortunately, the air conditioners worked really well. We will probably come back and stay in our camper, the grandkids had a blast doing the waterslide and especially the Obstacle course that's in the pond.. we really appreciated that the guidelines of the park require everyone to wear a life preserver while on the obstacle course. This gave us grandparents great peace of mind while watching them play. the staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Ms. Fontenot!

However, the "RV" area is small and the pads are uneven gravel. The pool area is a joke. It's disgusting and looks more like a pond than a pool because it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. There is duck crap everywhere. The "park" is more of a trailer community. Nothing is clean enough to take your child out for a walk. On top of everything mentioned, they are raising the rent to $625 a month in August. NOT WORTH IT.

It was such a pleasant experience to be able to walk my dogs on a daily basis and not have to worry much with stray dogs. The ducks do rule the roads but they are a pleasure to watch. I did not use the pool, but the maintenance van was there on a regular basis and it appeared clean. The lots with concrete pads are tight and we were on a gravel base pad, which was not as level but worked find for us. I used the laundry room weekly and at first there was an issue with a washer spinning the water out, but it was repaired and no more issues. If you are looking for KOA/High Class/Snooty RV Spot, this is not the one. If you want working class, mind your own business, take care of your self type of environment, this is it. I would stay again.

Located right next to the I-10 off-ramp on exit 43, this small park is pretty easy to spot. From…read morethe interstate, you have to make a hard right turn into the Shell station parking lot. Stay to right and you'll see the gate and park office. Check-in was easy. They take Good Sam but even with the discount, we still paid $46 for our overnight site. According to their price list (which you get at check-in) we should've only paid $40.45 plus tax so I'm guessing the rest of it was exorbitant tax. If you need a key card to go in and out of the gate, you pay a little extra. Sites in the middle are pull-thru, the perimeter has back-ins. The park has mostly longterm and permanent residents but it doesn't have a trailer park feel. Everyone kept their sites neat with minimum "stuff" sitting outside. The transient sites are in the first row of pull-thrus and they were full the night we were there. If your rig has good sound insulation, then the 24/7 traffic noise won't bother you much. Internal roads and sites are all paved with grass between sites. Sites are level with hookups in the middle. They have a dog wash station which is outside next to the exit gate. There's no dog park, no pool, no playground (so not really family friendly). Wifi and cable worked fine. The park seems well-managed. There's a laundry room that's also open to the public but the park itself is gated. You can walk to several places around there to eat. It's right behind a McDonald's and a convenience store. Good for an overnight stop.
