Had a great overnight stay here. Check-in flew by, which surprised me. First that they had a…read moreline, and second that they got three of us through at once and quickly. I didn't think we'd make it through before the pool closed. I was wrong, luckily. They have an adults only pool and spa, and an open pool, spa, and lazy river. They were all relatively well kept, though there were multiple bottle caps at the bottom that we kept stepping on. The ones that were there the night before were still there the morning after. The pool staff were really nice. They had already run out of towels at the counters, and the guy went to get us some freshly cleaned ones from the utility room. Much appreciated. The rooms were very nice. We stayed in the king suite, very well laid out. Only complaint is they had a steamer and not an iron. Doesn't work the same, but oh well. The decor was nice, the bed was comfortable, the AC was rocking. Really enjoyed the room. Whomever stayed there previously not only changed the time on the clock, but set an alarm at an ungodly hour. Well played. The casino is a bit smaller than Golden Nugget across the street. The lower ceilings give it a smaller, cozier feel. No luck on the slots here, but we did get into some blackjack. Under the tutelage of Justin T. I now have a new favorite card game. I had previously stayed away from the tables. By the time we checked in all the restaurants had closed, so we didn't get to try any of the food here. The wait staff in the casino were not very attentive and did not return with our drinks. When we found the guy later in the same spot that we ordered in, he said he had been back and that we had left even though we hadn't moved since we had been there. Always fun catching the BS. So well I can rate the lack of service, I can't rate the quality of the drinks because I didn't have one. Maybe next time. Parking here is easy, there's a huge lot outside. They also have garage parking, which I prefer. Have your car out of the elements. Overall really good stay, would definitely come again.

This is my second time out to The Nugget. The place is very nice looking on the inside. We came in…read morethe evening on day one, and also returned the next morning prior to departing the area. One star down, because they allow smoking in the building. Absolutely hate it. The evening trip was smoke everywhere. Interestingly, the next morning, there was very little scent of smoke remaining, so their AC puts in work. They were also replacing doors and equipment, and repairing areas to keep it in good condition. Half of the casino floor was closed off for some reason in the morning, likely remodeling or cleaning. I like a clean facility. They seemed to do a good job at cleaning as there weren't any glass cups or other trash hanging out. Security folks were nice, and very efficient. We weren't able to get on the black jack tables, too crowded the first night for the minimum we wanted to play at, or too few tables the next morning. So we hit some slots. Parking is easy. Garage and lots are available. Personally prefer the garage for the ease. We went to the Saltgrass restaurant on the premises, it had absolutely awful service. I won't take that out on the casino, it will get it's own review. Will definitely be back to the casino again. Always a good time, especially with the right people.

However, I am disappointed that the hotel would see it fit to offer a room in this condition to anyone with the amount of money spent here. We will enjoy our time here, we always do. I just wanted to share my thoughts in hopes the hotel will do better.

I had never stayed at a Tru by Hilton hotel before. Driving up I noticed the flashy vibrant…read moreexterior colors, and being used to subtle muted hotel colors, it definitely caught my attention. I was also somewhat thrown off by... when I walked in I saw what looked like an airport convenience store checkout station with snacks and souvenirs for purchase. The attendant greeted me, but was wearing a t shirt and hoodie, so, I couldn't tell if this was the concierge or if I needed to go somewhere else. The staff was friendly, and check in was painless. I was greeted with a goodie bag and a "thanks for being a Hilton Honors member." When I went up to the room the TV was displaying a "Welcome Nick," which was a nice touch. I also received a text the following day to see if I was enjoying my stay. There is a complimentary breakfast buffet with a variety of options open early (around 6am) to accommodate those traveling for business. There is no pool, but there's a gym with plenty of exercise options. There's also a lounge and business area with work stations, foosball, and areas to just unwind. The rooms are relatively modern, yet cozy, each equipped with most typical hotel room amenities. Tru is located near several other hotels, and it's almost walking distance from a variety of restaurants. If you want to gamble, the casinos are just a short drive from the hotel. Some tips: Sign up for Hilton Honors to get a little goodie bag upon arrival. Take advantage of the breakfast, as it's actually pretty good. I was impressed by the body wash/hand soap that was provided. The dispensers were neat, and had a squeeze functionality that I'd never used before. But the fragrance of the lemon sugar scent was very enjoyable Cheers!

Although the office was closed a manager was onsite and the office was unlocked so I went in to get some information and requested permission to drive through the "park" and check out the RV sites and amenities. I will say the young lady I spoke with was extremely friendly and provided me with everything I requested. It's July 2023 and this place still looks like it's still in recovery from past hurricanes, the potential is here but the ownership seems to struggle to execute what's needed to revive this spacious RV Park. Being this was formerly a Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park for a number of years there is a lot of infrastructure however it's not been well maintained and this could be due to a number of reasons including the inability to make a capital investment due to the current cash flow and ROI. I appreciate that management allowed me to do some exploring of the property on my own, but after doing that unfortunately I would not consider staying here at this time, hopefully they can make the investment before it further deteriorates - the sites and roads need a lot of attention and it seems like some residents have been here for a long time. It also appears that some of the amenities, water park and pool have also been negatively impacted from the lack of maintenance, there are lots of ruts, potholes and the landscaping needs some attention although the main entrance seems to get the most attention it's not a true reflection of what's behind the gate. This is a prime location for a RV Park so I'll keep checking on their progress but there's lots of work to do...

Jellystone Park system has taken back over this RV park. Apparently, after reading the reviews, they have really cleaned up the area. We stayed in one of the cabins and as expected, it's totally without bed linens and towels. Fortunately, the air conditioners worked really well. We will probably come back and stay in our camper, the grandkids had a blast doing the waterslide and especially the Obstacle course that's in the pond.. we really appreciated that the guidelines of the park require everyone to wear a life preserver while on the obstacle course. This gave us grandparents great peace of mind while watching them play. the staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Ms. Fontenot!
