Way less crowded than the Manneken Pis. There are signs to help guide you to find this statue. There are some restaurants surrounding this area. However, you are down a 1 way alley. So no where to go, but the way you came in. Pretty close to the main downtown City Hall area.
A fly-by is recommended while in Brussels. You'll snap a quick photo and then probably be on your way. While not quite as popular as her brother (?), her location in the end of an alley can make even smaller crowds feel much larger. Like her brother, they do dress up Jeanneke on occasions. However, I was unable to find any schedule or calendar on-line. If you are really keen on that, I'd recommend planning multiple fly-bys.
Similar to the Manneken Pis, but the girl version. This fountain is much smaller and not fenced off. You can find it near the Delirium Cafe area. You really don't need to spend more than a couple of minutes here. There's not much else to see. Am I the only one that find is a bit disturbing? Drop a coin and make a wish and the coin will be donated to medical research and the needy.
The female version of the Mannekin Pi's created in 1985. She's not generating the same crowds just a few women were here taking photos. She is more Discreet!
We were at Delirium, and wondered why they was a crowd of people at the end. We walked over and discovered the statue. It is the female counterpart to the popular Manneken Pis fountain.
Like Manneken Pis, Jeanneke Pis is also a classic and a must see while in Brussels. The statue is located in an alley way, so be sure not to miss her. Make sure to go early around 9-10am if you want photos without anyone around.
I'm all for equal opportunity, so here is Manneken Pis' much younger sister. By "younger" she was erected in 1987 (several hundred years AFTER Manneken Pis' was introduced to Brussels) but physiologically they are about the same age. Unlike Manneken Pis she's a little harder to locate. While most blogs will tell you if you Google them the easiest way to get there is to Google the directions to Delirium Bar (a well-known bar with a pink elephant as its symbol). Jeanneke Pis is located on the opposite side of the entrance to Delirium Bar, but you might have to walk a few steps towards the end of the alley. I guess she got overwhelmed with the beer selection on tap. Towards the end of the alley you'll see her sadly cooped up behind bars. It seems like she's imprisoned for public urination or indecent exposure, which seems pretty sad IMO. She guards a fountain that bestows a blessing to those who drop a coin and all proceeds go towards cancer research. When I went to see Jeanneke it was a dreary Sunday morning so there were few visitors that went to see her. Compare this to Manneken Pis where he always has a crowd of people posing by him and plenty of souvenirs using his likeness. So I'm sending her my love and I hope you stop by and say hi to her should you ever come across Brussels (seriously if you're going to visit Delirium Bar [which you should], you might as well...)
Pissing statue #2: Why must you be so small and locked inside a cage? This is harder to find than the more popular Mannekin Pis. You go through alleys and pass lots of restaurants that can be very distracting when you're feeling a bit hungry. She stares at the bar with crazy selections of all sorts of beers. No wonder she has to pee. Take quick pictures and move on.
Cute little girl. She is very hard to find. In a little street right next to the Delerium Village. She is locked up behind a metal gate. You cannot get a really good picture due to the gate. Still a cute funny site to see when you're in Brussels. She pees just like her brother. Happy Siteseeing!!
Again, I don't know how I feel about this landmark of a little girl urinating but it is what it is and tourists of all kind (I guess like me) come to see what it's all about. It's just one of those things where you don't know why anyone would choose to make a statue like this, but you're there because the tourist websites said it is one of the things to see in Brussels. Pretty underwhelming if you ask me but I did get the necessary obligatory pictures.
Why is Jeanneke Pis located in a back laneway? Why is Jeannke Pis has a locked gate and the need of protection from vandalism? Jeanneke Pis is not that easy to miss if you are going to Delirum Cafe. Looking at the statue after a few drinks reminds me I need to go too... maybe that's why it is located at where it is!
So in a town famous for the pissing boy statue, I guess as a feminist I am happy there is equality and there is a pissing girl statue, even if her squatting figure is found behind a grill, in a dingy alleyway, surrounded by bars - which is quite different from how/ where the pissing boy is located! I wish there was a bit more dignity to her - and for me, she symbolizes that we women truly have a long way to go until we can achieve equality between the genders.
Ok, I still don't get it but I do like Jeanneke Pis better than her brother, Manneken Pis. She's more modern, having been built closer to 30 years ago than 400, she's a little bigger, a little less well known and, as such, tends to draw a smaller crowd. If you've found Delerium Monster and the Delerium Cafe you're not far away, just carry on to the end of the street and there she is. You won't find replicas of her and she doesn't adorn countless items of tourist tat. On the other hand, she was apparently built for two reasons. Firstly, in honour of loyalty and to give blessings to those who drop a coin in her fountain. Secondly, for gender equality, since Manneken Pis was so famous. I guess that's quite nice. What's even nicer is that those coins you drop in exchange for a blessing get collected and re-directed to cancer research charities. How can I not like Jeanneke better than Manneken? I don't understand either but Jeanneke has a good cause.
Denis-Adrien Debouvrie is the artist who designed this fountain sculpture of a little girl peeing. She's meant to be a pal or partner of Manneken Pis, the peeing bit sculpture. Though Manneken has been around for centuries, Jeanneke has only been around since the 80s. All part of the quirky, fun, and good nature of Brussels. read more
This was in the alleyway right next to Delirium Cafe so it was very convenient and easy to get to. It's difficult to take a good picture of it because of the bars in front of the statue along with the steady stream of tourists trying to get a good picture of it. read more

Inspired by Manneken Pis is Jeanneke Pis ("Little Pissing Joan"), the female version of the famous landmark. Tucked away in a side alley, Jeanneke Pis is not as easy to find (and therefore the area is not as crowded), although we inadvertently stumbled across it when going to Delirium for a drink, as the bar's entrance is across the alley from the statue. (The statue came before the bar.) The artist is Denis-Adrien Debouvrie and the statue was erected in 1987 (Delirium opened in 2003). At 50cm (20 inches), Jeanneke Pis is slightly smaller than Manneken Pis, and the statue is depicted as a girl squatting in a very crude manner. I'm not a prude, but frankly, it's gross. Second on my little statue "pis" tour. While looking at the maps in Yelp, I would often see Manneken Pis in large text with a tiny camera beside it, at the other side of Grand Place was Jeanneke Pis in large text, but no camera, just a statue icon. So, in a nutshell, having not really known anything about Manneken's hidden away sister, I decided to find her and see her for myself. This one is certainly hidden away. Jeanneke Pis actually resembles the actual size of a small child in comparison to Manneken--- which is more cherub-like and comically tiny. Her smile and existence is supposed to represent a tenderness and innocence, loyalty, among other lofty words and hopes. The fountain she "blesses" will bless you too for a coin. Apparently, Jeanneke Pis is pretty young for a statue--- erected in 1987, in comparison to her bro which is pushing 400 years now. The place she is located in is also surrounded by seafood bars and the poor guys back there will try to reel you into their restaurants with some deals and competitive low prices to beat out other eateries on the main street. Might be good if you're looking to eat decent without a fancy penny, but I have no clue about the quality. When I went they were very strong on the salesmanship.. but literally no one was back there. They were just hidden from everyone. Once we turned the corner that Jeanneke was on, there was a small crowd of tourists settled at the very back of an alleyway taking photos. She is barred from easy view though. Gated to protect from vandalism. Next up, hopefully finding Zinneke Pis! read more
I had absolutely no idea that a female Manniken Pis existed (and actually didn't really know about Manniken until I discovered him in the Brussels Museum and decided to track him down). Anyway, I was sitting in Delirium Tremens, having one of their fantastic beers, which I saw a bunch of tourists gathered around something just outside, so once they had left I stepped out and had a look and discovered that it was a statue of a young girl squatting, and well, doing what Manniken was doing. Needless to say that like Manniken, it is pretty overrated and really didn't do all that much for me. read more
