I recently purchased a home in Daytona/Port Orange and im not from the area. I stopped in at the State Farm office in Daytona and spoke with Rachel. She went above and beyond to help me get coverage. I really appreciate Jeff Hoffer State Farm Insurance because I always get great service and excellent coverage for a reasonable price

I moved from Florida to North Carolina in July and immediately contacted State Farm to update my address. I called their main number, was routed to a representative, and verbalized that I had moved states. I also updated my address in the app and spoke to multiple humans in the Weaverville, NC, office. I moved around quite a bit in NC at the end of the year because oh Hurricane Helene, and every time I moved, I made contact with StateFarm. I believed my job was done. Fast-forward to March and the renewall of my registration, and I discovered that my insurance was never moved to North Carolina, meaning I've been overpaying for Florida insurance this entire time. After investigating, I found records of the calls and a text message from a StateFarm representative dated December 3rd confirming that my address change included both my mailing and physical address. Yet, despite this confirmation, my policy was never updated. When I called to address this, I was given the runaround. The Weaverville office blamed Florida, and Florida blamed me. They insisted that I had only changed my mailing address and not my physical address when I know for a fact that I had done both. I told them I had confirmation from their own representative, but they dismissed it, insisting I was wrong. To make matters worse, one of their Florida representatives, Olivia Strauss, was outright rude and combative. Instead of helping, she raised her voice at me, accused me of making the mistake, and when I pushed back, she hung up on me. This is completely unprofessional and unnaceptable behavior, especially when dealing with a frustrated customer who has been overpaying due to their error. And let's be clear: Olivia wasn't reacting to my tone; she was reacting to being challenged. After I was hung up on, I called back and reached a different representative, Karen Sullivan. Once I started calmy explaining the situation and the facts, her tone softened, and she became much more professional. Despite this shift in demeanor, Karen informed me that a refund was unlikely. When she first answered the phone, her voice was loud and defensive, clearly indicating that she had been riled up by whatever Olivia had told her. It was as if she was prepared for a confrontation with a rude customer. However, once I provided undeniable proof that my physical address had been updated and I read the text message verbatim --the one confirming my address change included both mailing and physical-- She had a noticeable shift in tone. Suddenly, she was willing to "look into it" and told me to email her the screenshot but that she would be out of town next week. I did email her only to receive an automated response in return. This should have been handled immediately. Instead, I was ignored, dismissed, and blamed for their mistake until I provided undeniable proof. This is an insurance office, not a court proceeding. Olivia's behavior was inexcusable, and she should be repremanded or fired. If a customer calls upset --rightfully so--because they've been overpaying for months due to an error on your end, your response should be to fix it, not to argue, gaslight, and hang up on them. This experience highlights serious issues with accountability and communication at StateFarm. Instead of taking responsibility, they shift blame between offices, leaving customers stuck with the consequences. If you're considering StateFarm, be warned: even if you do everything right, they can and will mishandle your account, gaslight you into thinking it's your fault, and refuse to make it right. And if you dare to push back? Expect to be hung up on. Avoid thuis company unless you want to overpay, be disrespected, and have to fight for basic competence. Update: The level of unprofessionalism displayed by Jeff Hoffer himself was staggering. From mocking my review to rudely placing all the blame on me for their failure to process my address change, their complete lack of accountability and respect for customers is unnacceptable. He called me not letting me get a word in and dismissing every thing I said. This incident is being reported to the Florida Department of Financial Services and The National Association of Insurance Commissioners. They are not accreddited by the BBB, which makes sense considering their deceptive practices. read more

The following has taken place on a Google review and I want to make sure everyone knows Jeff Hoffer likes to share clients payment history on the internet Illegally. Sitting at the DMV after waiting 74 minutes, trying to correct a suspended license due to "no insurance" while being insured with this office. Just to find out Darren sent over the incorrect evidence of insurance. Upon standing at the desk trying get the proper one sent over, I have repeatedly been told "well we are busy" by two staff members there. This is absolutely outrageous and unprofessional. Unacceptable. It takes 2 minutes to fax something over, and it is quicker to do something right the first time than to have to correct it. This is why I left state farm and will never be back. If I left a review individually for every issue I've had with this office, they would have nothing left for stars. Response from the owner 11 minutes ago First sorry this happened to you, but a little additional information on your story is needed. a. your policies lapsed for non payment in July. b. we provided information on the one car you requested prior to your going to the DMV. However you needed information on both cars. c. we faxed the information requested by the DMV immediately but the fax got garbled causing you to lose your place in line. Again we are sorry this happened to you Jeff Response: Since Google won't let me respond let me put this plainly. A. I let it go for "non payment" because your office has repeatedly shown nothing but pure laziness towards requests and went with Allstate instead. B. My husband called and requested proof of insurance for me, not for a specific vehicle. C. I had to call back 20 minutes after the call at the DMV window was first placed because nothing had been faxed at that time. D. Consider being more professional yourself by not placing my payment history on the internet. Consider possibly hiring staff that do their job instead of defending each others blatant mistakes, and making excuses. As well as perhaps taking accountability instead of responding to google reviews with a narcissistic approach. read more
