We were warmly greeted by one of the owners, Lisa, who quickly identified our connection to the race based on what we were wearing as we entered. She shared he had family members who had completed the race as well. She was so friendly and kind. Now to the gallery part. The entire place was decked out in Tahoe related art from photography to lacquered Tahoe-related wooden pieces, "Tahoe Fluid Art" by Megan Smith. Lisa was so excited to take us through a tour of everything she had on display. It seemed just as exciting for her to share the work as it was for us to see everything for the first time. Every piece unique and so beautiful. In my lifetime, I've wandered into countless galleries while being a visitor in town but this was the first time I absolutely could not leave without taking something home. Both my brother and I left with a Tahoe Fluid Art piece. For him, a mountain-shaped piece with gorgeous flecks of copper and fool's gold; for myself, a beautifully blue Lake Tahoe piece. These weren't exactly "bargains" (it's not a thrift store), but given how unique the pieces are and that they were created by a husband and wife team with completely different skills, the purchases were well worth the value and heart put into them. There's something to be said about "good" art. We all have our own taste, but when pieces make you feel and help you connect, it's truly something special. We found that here and recommend anyone who is in the area to stop on in for a look. Be prepared to take something home. Oh, they also ship artwork globally so don't hestitate to request that if you are unable to handcarry the artwork home! Trust me, it's so worth it!

Weddings are expensive and an investment, so I expect to get a good return on it. At the beginning for our engagement pics all was cool and I feeling confident about using her services. My wedding was kinda still during the height of covid, but everything seemed to be going well until the week of my wedding when I rec'd a text from her that she was not going to be able to shoot at my wedding bc she wasn't feeling well. I obviously was upset bc my contract was with her, but I had to be understanding of the situation too. What I didn't like was I had to trust a colleague of hers (Heather) who I had never met and didn't meet until my wedding day to take the best pictures possible. She did mediocre, and didn't capture very many couples pics nor family pics. (So glad I had relatives and friends who brought cameras. Most took better pics than the paid photographer, but I didn't pay them, I paid Kindred Souls for quality pics). She kinda rushed through our main pics and all the outdoor pics are hideous. Amber stated though she couldn't shoot my wedding, she'd do the editing, but she was sooo hard to get a hold of regarding status of my prints and just communication PERIOD! My wedding was in September and I didn't get my photos till mid December. I'd say I'm patient, but 4 months is ridiculous. When I sent my favorites back to her for editing I advised her they were not the clearest they could be and were too dark and to reedit. Here we are at the end of February and I still haven't heard back from Amber. Truly UNprofessional, poor customer service and a bad look on this business. They don't have to worry about me referring ANYONE to them! A waste of almost $1800, sigh.

It took us 26 years to realize our own attempts at family photos didn't capture the experiences the way we wished they did. My wife and I decided to get a professional pictures taken this year. We came across Danielle's website and were attracted to her work with large families as well as being a local to the kings beach area. As soon as we met Danielle, we knew it was going to be a good fit. Her humor was very similar to ours, and she knew how to apply the right amount mixed with direction to keep the process flowing. Our family covered 4 generations, with ages ranging from 84 to 18months. She was able to limit the impact and movement to the older folks while providing a treasure chest of little toys to entice the little ones. The pictures were painless, even with a group 20+ pale, squinty eyed people! After the shoot, approx 4 hrs later, Danielle returned with a projector, screen and ipad to review the photos and let us make our choices. It was so fun to sit around with the family and see the final product. This was a no pressure consultation and there was no upselling. We chose to go with a digital package allowing, us to share with the large family. We had to promise to get them printed (anywhere) eventually so they could be enjoyed and looked at every day. We continuously get complements on our photos. We also get some disbelief thinking that pictures that good can't be real. "There's no way that background is real", "That's not REALLY at Tahoe, is it?" I can't say enough good things about Danielle. She was a perfect fit for our family and I highly recommend her. As our kids grow (3 and 1.5 now) we'll definitely use her in the future.
