While it didn't have the absolute most reviews of any insurance broker, the reviews Options Insurance does have--across Yelp, Google, and Reddit--indicate a strong reputation for customer satisfaction. And that's been our experience since working with our agent, Tippy Sourignavong. From the jump, Tippy demonstrated deep knowledge of insurance products (including terms and conditions that I found confusing), patience (in explaining the differences between policies), and responsiveness (often getting back to me within minutes for any question I had). She found us the best deal among insurers to cover our home, car (and later an additional car), and umbrella insurance from AAA; better than I could have found on my own. Before renewing this year, Tippy reached out, letting me know that she cross shopped my existing coverage across all the insurers and found us a better deal, saving us hundreds this year. She also flagged that insurers by and large were moving away from replacement cost value (RCV) to actual cost value (ACV) for roof replacements, which isn't as good, but out of her hands. I still appreciated the call out and it's exactly the type of proactive streamlined information I need to understand my choices and make a decision. I highly recommend Options Insurance and Tippy in particular as a starting (and ending point) for all your personal insurance needs.

    Terrible experience with Keri Dobosenki. Had been working with her for 5 years until she discarded…read moreme. Keri handed me over to a more inexperienced colleague because her "role changed." Of course she only said this once I reached out and said I was unhappy working with the new agent. However before this, I was never notified about this nor was this updated on my insurance policies because they all stated that Keri was still my agent. Anyway the inexperienced colleague tried to convince me to stay with my current insurance company even though the roof deductible was more than doubled than the previous year and didn't even cover roof replacement. DON'T RECOMMEND Options Insurance, poor customer service and they don't have the best interest for you, the customer.

    I'm very unsatisfied with the service I've received from Mary. She was my agent for nearly 4 years…read more I've never liked her personality and she's always seemed rude and dismissive. But I dealt with it because all I really cared about was her doing her job. As I accumulated policies and multi-line discounts, when premiums would go up and I would ask for more info, I repeatedly have received inconsistent answers that don't match up. Then I was told that State Farm policies prevented her from doing anything about it, which was never brought up to me in the past. If that was always the policy, then why was I never informed and had to spend multiple months going around in circles with her?

    I moved from Chicago so had to transfer my policy to Minnesota. I enrolled with Mary Trondson. I…read morefelt that there was poor communication from her office about additional fees for transferring my policy to a new state and new agent. I was initially told that there would be no extra fees, but when I got my first bill she told me I had to pay the premium for two months that I was not even receiving insurance for. Furthermore, I did not receive my first bill in the mail. Instead, the first billing correspondence I received in the mail was a notice of overdue payments. When I called to explain my confusion and sort this out, Ms. Trondson seemed cold and unsympathetic. She told me I never received the first bill in the mail because it was in my online profile. Again, I didn't recall this ever being explained to me. On December 16th, I had found quotes from other companies with significantly lower premiums, so I called Ms. Trondson to inform her I would not be renewing my policy, which was up for renewal on January 12th. I wanted to give her advance notice so that my policy would not be automatically renewed. Ms. Trondson tried to convince me that those quotes from other companies would eventually balloon, so I informed her I would come back if that turned out to be the case. So she thanked me for my business and said goodbye. Then I got a notice in that mail that she had CANCELLED MY POLICY ON DECEMBER 16TH, LEAVING ME WITH NO AUTO INSURANCE. Maaaaaaaybe she misunderstood me, but more likely it seems that she was mad that I would no longer be giving her money so she cancelled my policy immediately WITHOUT MY APPROVAL. So needless to say, I would not recommend her services.
