The staff at Jeffrey's Antiques are the most rude, stuck up people I have ever come across. I have never shopped anywhere with such poor business ethics and customer service. This store is not kid friendly in any way. They will literally glare at you as you walk in the door. I can understand hesitation on their part... to a degree. My boys are well behaved, polite and absolutely trouble free. They behaved perfectly fine during our time in the store, and we were paying customers. We came across a floor walker who felt it was his personal duty to *escort* us to each and every booth. He stood over us like a jail warden, just blocked the end of the booths and stared at us. We started walking, and he followed us. We doubled back, and he followed us. When I finally confronted him, he said he was just "protecting" the merchandise. From what? I have three sons, and as I stated, they did nothing wrong. These people profile you as soon as you walk in the door. I didn't bother confronting management as I could tell at check out that they wouldn't side with me. The guy followed me all the way to the exit. I told him he was making me uncomfortable, I told him he was being rude, and he still stuck to me like some sort of shoplifter. Regarding the merchandise, there are some interesting things in the store, but a lot of it is way overpriced. I got some Norman Rockwell books today for a decent price, but overall I cannot recommend Jeffrey's to anyone unless price is no problem. I have seen a huge shift in price there since shows like 'American Pickers' have come around. I have been a customer for over a decade, but I will never return again after today. It was not the first time I have encountered rude staff, but I have always eventually overlooked it. Not this time. They are rude in their approach to customers, rude in how they verbally carry themselves and treat the place more like a museum rather than an antique mall. I have been to plenty of Antiques dealers, and Jeffrey's is the worst I have ever encountered. They've earned no stars, I give one because I have to. read more

The check out people were unbelievably rude and charged my card twice for the same purchase. Had to sit on the phone for a half hour to get it right. Some of the booths were very nice and I feel sorry for people renting booths here because the check out people are losing them business. I'll never go back. read more

For many years I have wanted to stop at Jeffrey's Antique mall (exit 159?) on our yearly trips to Lake Erie. My husband is not much of a shopper, so usually I do not get the chance. This year however, I drove home with my college aged daughters and we were very excited to get the chance to visit this antique store. We arrived at a little before 5pm. As we past the front checkout no one mentioned "we close promptly at 6pm" or anything of that nature. We started down the aisle to the left and a gentleman with many keys on a loop was around. I ASKED HIM SPECIFICALLY IF THEY HAD ANY COCA-COLA PICNIC COOLERS, OLD STOVES, OR LARGE STAINED GLASS PIECES. It seemed as if he left to ask someone, but when he came back he said nothing. At this time it was maybe 5:20. I found a 7-UP cooler and told him I would take it and also found a few other items BEFORE 5:30 that he took up to "wrap" (the only hint of urgency ). He was holding almost $150 of my purchases at that point. I explained I don't get the chance to stop this way often. He never told me that the closing time was soon or anything of that nature. Then came the nasty warnings over the stores speaker system. The tone in the woman's voice was not very pleasant. It was about 5:40. The store was closing. Fine. I start quickly going down the aisles to look for anything else I might want to buy maybe when we go back that way in September. Lo and behold there sat a COCA-COLA picnic cooler. Nearby, there were 2 Dr Pepper coolers. Now, had I been directed there in the 1st place like I asked, I may have been in and out with my $190 COCA-COLA cooler. Instead, I was made to feel like they did not care about helping me, THEY JUST WANTED TO LEAVE PROMPTLY AT 6! As I approached the checkout counter, there was another customer there and I mentioned that if someone had just pointed me in the right direction........Well at this point I had 5 angry clerks telling me that they can't possible know every item in the store and so on. Most antique malls I've been to, the employees usually have a good idea as to what they have, especially something as specific as an old Coke cooler. My daughter overheard one gentleman employee, while pointing to a sign that says the store can refuse to serve people. "WELL THAT'S A FACE I'LL REMEMBER!" Mind you, up until that point I had NO INTERACTION with any of these other employees, only the somewhat slow older gentleman with the key loop. I should have simply walked out, and after my daughter told me in the car what the other man had said I wish I would have. I know the mall is large, however, I visit antique malls and stores pretty regularly and NEVER HAVE I BEEN TREATED WITH SUCH RUDENESS. I'm sure they wanted to go home, but I'm just as sure that the individuals who are paying for booth space would appreciate selling their items, which is what that business is about. And, NOTE TO JEFFREY'S: you're located on busy I-75 NOT ALL OF YOUR CUSTOMERS CAN "COME BACK IN THE MORNING!!!" Needless to say, I will never go back. read more

Seeing these reviews I see that some of you have had a similar experience to myself. I was at Jeffrey's about four months ago, and the staff there is rather difficult to deal with. There are numerous people walking the floor, but in the event you get someone to assist you, they act like you're taking up their time. I had a question about an item that required them to call the dealer. They would not call him. I had cash in hand and was willing to buy the item if I could only have a few simple questions answered. The staff had no clue, and would not bridge the gap between seller and buyer, which I assumed was their job. The two items I did buy required me to go through checkout, so I decided to voice my dissatisfaction. The cashier ignored me, but another lady behind the counter snapped at me that "everyone here is professional and courteous", and that they were not obligated to serve me. Fine, I am not obligated to shop there. There are plenty of places to go for antiquities, and Jeffrey's is the worst I have been to. read more
