The prices are also extremely fair and not overpriced. The sales are very clean and workers are highly responsible with maintenance of dept of health Covid-19 protocols to keep all shoppers safe. I found Susan Sterling estate sales when needing to clear out a family home we were readying for…read moresale. I was looking for a company that was reliable, great communication, trustworthy and that would coordinate the final clean out once the sale was over at a low fixed cost(for clean out). I didn't want a referral who to use to clear out the home but wanted full coordination through the estate sale team. Susan called me back on a Sunday within five minutes of the email inquiry I sent. She didn't tell me what to expect from the sale(dollar wise) as it is unpredictable. We set an appointment for her to visit the house and she was on-time and from that point on the professionalism was stellar. I did call another competitor that was very well referred that never returned calls and I persisted with four different calls to both owners phones. At the very least you expect someone to call back and say they are not interested but with Sterling every communication was instantaneous. Sterling Estate sales completed the estate sale, advertising it, making sure people wore shoe covers to protect the carpets, coordinated the clean out and was on-site when the haul away arrived. I am only writing the review because it helped us out tremendously in so many ways and I wanted to take the time so that another person not knowing where to turn knows who to call. Sterling Estate sales has been around forever and also had many good google reviews. The sale is over and my check and logging of the items sold came right away, and again it couldn't have gone any better. It's hard letting someone you don't know have full access to your home as they prepare for an estate sale. That is another reason I took the time to write a review on Yelp where I tend to look for referrals if I don't know where to turn. Hope this helps someone else deciding who to use for an estate sale. I also liked she is affiliated with a Haul Away company that she is comfortable with and that was a nice flat fee at the end so I knew the price up front and that she used a company that takes care of the home when doing the final clear out. Went to their Estate sale today in an Upscale Neighborhood. Waited in line was second in the door…read more Walked in, picked up a designer leather bag and was told by a woman "that's mine! I'm buying it ". I said it's not marked sold and how could you have bought it, I was in before you? She then told me "everything in this pile is hers!" Again I asked "how?" She said she works for the estate sale company. When I told her that was so shady to do, she told me if I wanted the bag I could have it very snarky. I should have taken the bag. Several other people had the same experience with the same lady. I told the owner of the company and the employee when I was leaving that this was a terrible business practice. The employee got snippy and the owner defended her actions. Not only is she screwing the people who waited in line to buy, but the client who paid them to sell her stuff when she allows her employees to hold merchandise over until the next day and buy at the discounted rates.

As I was getting my cash out she goes "just for fun I am going to take a picture of the shelves to see how much they are worth." She sees they are valuable online and says she no longer can give them to me for the price we had agreed on. I asked for her name and the name of the company she worked for and she said "why, so you can leave a bad review?" Then she started taking pictures of me on her phone. She said "I will post your picture if you leave a review." I took my phone out to take a picture of her then in return and she HIT MY HAND AND WRIST HARD. I left as fast as I could and my elderly mother who was with me left behind me and they slammed the door on her heel. I reported her to the police. She also referred to her client, the person's home it was, as a hoarder and I could overhear her associates talking about someone who was having medical issues such as "anal bleeding." Which I didn't think was appropriate to talk about for customers to hear. I have never witnessed such unprofessionalism and wish I could leave 0 stars. She also gave out a fake name and I see a few bad reviews with names that she then comments and says "we don't have anyone with that name." Also, I see her unprofessionalism continues with her responses to her reviews. She tries to intimidate and insult people rather than comment something professional. STEER CLEAR clients and customers alike!!

Only a few items were priced and waited in line for 40 minutes to be given prices that were ridiculously overpriced. The comments being "how long would you wait at Walmart". Witnessed the estate sale company being very rude, loud and insulting. They are not professional at all. Hiring them to run a sale for you from what I saw would not be in your favor. We changed our minds a lot about what to do with some of the items and many of those changes came at the last minute. Barb was cool about it and rolled with it. She was a great partner for our first estate sale. We were especially happy with the clean out services post-estate sale.
