Excellent quality of all their products! Unique fabrics that are gorgeous. The needlework kits, cross stitch and embroidery, were very unique too. Sashiko products are also sold here too, which is what I decided to purchase some of. Some of the items for sale here I had never seen anywhere else. The staff person working was knowledgeable, helpful, and nice. I also thought the prices were good because of the high quality of the items. Will visit here again on my next trip to Evanston.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Lord's upholstery is the worst I have ever experienced, and…read morethe materials they use are of very low quality. Don't bother telling them you are not happy, the owner didn't want to listen and refused to come and take a look. She sent some workers out with a steamer, as if that would correct the incorrectly measured and poorly constructed couch issues. I did send back the decorative silk pillows because the internal cases they had sewn to cover the pillow itself were made several inches too large, and you could see them bunching under the silk. Instead of cutting them down and sewing them correctly, they just reached in and rolled the excess up. That worked until the first person leaned against them, then they just unrolled. By the way, when they were returned I was told they had been "redone": I guess they didn't think we would notice that all they did was roll the excess up. The owner is very rude, and completely unwilling to take any responsibility. We had the couch back for about six months, only sat on it a couple of times, and it already needs to be reupholstered again. I would not recommend them under any circumstances.

The staff are welcoming, helpful, and go above and beyond to make this place feel as much like a community as a place to shop. I once told the owner I wanted to try out EPP and she gave me a little tutorial on the spot and helped me round up all the supplies I would need. Nice fabric selection with a mix of lines from more modern Ruby Star Society to more traditional. Very cute notions (more stock in the back - so ask if you don't see something you need)! I love shopping here and love having this store as part of my community.
