Mhmmmmmm. Creamy, premium, rich ice cream. The Opaque was intriguing at first glance. It was a dark chocolate that reminded me of a thick fudgy brownie. The Brown Butter Almond Brittle was a good sweet and salty combo. The server was welcoming and friendly. She took the time to tell us the story behind the origin of the ice cream and how the business grew. This particularly location was small with no seating indoors, however, a bench on the sidewalk right outside the door. Be aware, there is a step into the store and no accessible ramp, so it is not handicap friendly. Jeni's ice cream has such unique flavors and textures. I would definitely visit again!
Love jeni's. Honestly, it's some good quality icecream. And for icecream it's always gonna be quality over quantity. Downtown Naperville has a cute location. Service is good and they let you try the flavors! Overall, love Jenis and yes I'd go back and yes I always do be going back.
A DISH BEST SERVED COLD It's not revenge I've got on my mind.....it's the fabulous flavors at Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. Downtown Naperville has recently become pretty trendy, with a Molly's Cupcakery, Aloha Poke, and a Gordon Ramsey restaurant in the area. Jeni's has a storefront on Main St and at least a dozen locations across the Chicagoland area, including 2 in the western suburbs (only two? c'mon!) When I first learned about Jeni's from a Yelp event, I was grateful for the one-off freebie but saw no need to buy anything further, as we already had a surplus of frozen confections at home. This time around, our stock had run low, so I became an actual customer instead of just a mooch. A pint of their ice cream is--you ready for this?--twelve bucks. I hesitated to tell my wife how much it was, but she pressed, and when I finally told her she let out an audible gasp. "Well, it tasted like $12 ice cream!" Good honey, I'm glad. Enjoy the subtle taste, buttery texture and magnificent purple coloring of the Wildberry Lavender, you 100% deserve it. I recommend the 'signature' (three 1/2 scoops for $7.25) in a buttercrisp waffle bowl for an extra $1.50. A 'standard' is 2 scoops ($6.50) and a 'flight' is a whopping 10 scoops ($21+) which I assume comes in a bucket with a small shovel. Staff are super friendly and they're generous with samples. Their seasonal choices are great, like sparkling cherry pie and Tahini oat cookie. I'm a big fan of the "double dough", a cookie dough flavor with lumps of tasty cookie dough. Their "darkest chocolate" is the best chocolate ice cream I've ever tried, bar none. Sumptuous. I don't think it's fair to compare this small batch operation to Ben & Jerry's ($6/pint) or Häagen-Dazs, especially considering the outstanding quality, variety, and eclectic flavor combinations. Jeni's is in a league of their/her own! * TL;DR * Initially, I wasn't so sure that downtown Naper-thrill needed another ice cream place (especially with a Red Mango, Coldstone, and Kilwins SO close by), but as it turns out, yes, it does. Drake must've been thinking of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams when he wrote "Best I Ever Had". 'Cause this sh*t is the best I ever had (ayy), best I ever had (ayy), best I ever had...... Oberweis who? Such a cute shop in downtown Naperville. We decided to make a family trip out of this event. We went late afternoon - it ended up being a good time, as it wasn't too crowded but they still seem to get a lot of customers. The employees were super helpful and offered our kids samples to try and gave us some recommendations. We went with the honey vanilla, gooey butter cake and brambleberry. All SUCH GOOD PICKS!! The brambleberry tasted like pie and ice cream, vanilla was very creamy and the butter cake had small pieces of cake in it. Great place to stop by when strolling around downtown naperville. Something to note - there isn't seating inside due to the size of the shop, so plan to eat your ice cream while walking or along the river :) We had such a good experience and plan to go back there again in the next few weeks!
Once my wife told me that Jeni's is not known for selling traditional flavors, I was really on the fence about trying them. I'm glad I did. While the prices are up there, the quality is there to match. I got the honey vanilla bean for myself and my wife got their popular wild berry flavor. The honey vanilla bean was MORE than suitable for vanilla. The wild berry was also a pleasant surprise for this guy who doesn't try new things! Considering that Jeni's is smack dab in the middle of downtown Naperville, it's an excellent option on a hot day or after a meal.
Overall (A-) So both me and my wife went - and she liked it a lot while I thought it was just pretty good. I personally like Kilwins more but she liked the different flavors they offered. It is always fairly crowded and it may not just appeal to me - but it may appeal to others. It is always packed in the summer months. Like line out the door. The one downside is that there is no interior or exterior seating. But for downtown Naperville it is fine. Pics below.

It's no surprise that Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams reigns high among us ice cream connoisseurs here in the Burbs - and this location is A1! The staff here is such a delight; the manager was so friendly and their staff is very well informed. Also, can we talk about the cleanliness?! This Jeni's is spotless, and you can smell the frozen freshness walking in. Parking is scarce (as is for most businesses in downtown Naperville), but I was able to quickly find a parking spot a 1-minute walk away in a small parking lot. Gooey butter cake - 10/10, I LOVE this flavor so much. I'm usually a chocolatey gal, so the fact that this flavor is my fav Jeni's flavor speaks volume. It's gooey, chunky, delicious - what more can you ask for?! Brown butter almond brittle - 9/10, crispy meets creamy with this flavor. I really think this flavor is delectable, I just love other flavors more, but would definitely get this again. Blackout chocolate cake - 10/10, this is a limited flavor, and boy was I happy I got it. This was THE creamiest ice cream I've ever had, I could not stop eating this flavor. I will 100% be back. Best ice cream in the Burbs!
Our dessert options after dinner were Jeni's or froyo and Jeni's was the obvious choice. Overall, 3.5/5 for this location. For the standard size (up to two different flavors) it was still 6.50-7.00 for two very small scoops of ice cream. I've gotten more ice cream at other Jeni's locations before. Anyway, I got the STRAWBERRY BUTTERMILK (limited edition and is kind of an in between of regular strawberry ice cream and strawberry cheese cake) and the BROWN BUTTER ALMOND BRITTLE (this one was sweeter with crispy crunches). Solid mix of flavors and enjoyable to have together.

It was my first time trying Jeni's and it was a pleasant surprise! So many amazing flavors to choose from but I got the dairy free cold brew, wildberry lavender and blackout chocolate cake to share with the hubs. I've never had dairy free ice cream and thought, why not give it a try. I absolutely loved it. I know regular ice cream is supposed to be creamy and smooth but I love the dairy free one even more! It was light, refreshing and full of cold brew coffee flavor. I think I might start getting dairy free ice cream after this wonderful experience. I've taken away 1 star because 1.) The website said they open at noon but when we got there, the door said 2pm and they were close at noon. So we had to stop by somewhere else to have lunch first. And after getting ice cream, we almost missed picking up my youngest so that stressed me out a little with the wrong time since we live 45 mins away. 2.) There is no place to sit to eat so we ate it in the car which was not a big deal but the hours really messed us up a little. So I hope they fix that soon.

Located in downtown Naperville near the Riverwalk. Jeni's Ice Cream offer unique flavors as well as the standards with a smooth texture and butter cream body. Flavors are inspired by pop culture and curiosities. You are offered a sample of any flavor you wish. I ordered the 3 half scoop size in a waffle bowl. I had to wait a short time as they ran out of waffle bowls. I had the Coffee with cream and sugar which had a bold coffee taste. Biscuits with the Boss created from the Ted Lasso show . It had shortbread cookies in a buttery sweat cream. It was good but not my favorite. The best flavor I had in my opinion was Gooey Butter cake which was cream cheese ice cream with crumbles of vanilla cake and swirls of caramel butterscotch sauce. Delicious! Gluten free and dairy free flavors are available. Ok They only have a small counter that you have stand at if you want to eat inside. Tables and chairs would be nice but they just don't have the room. Hopefully they will have outdoor tables when the weather warms up. I ended up eating in my car as I didn't want to walk around downtown Naperville in 30 degree weather. Street parking is available but expect to drive around a bit before you find a spot Fun place to try unique flavors and delicious ice cream.

Fantastic experience at Jeni's, the employee helping us was very sweet and patient while we sampled a bunch of flavors. We got the gooey butter cake, brown butter almond brittle, and earl grey crème brûlée-- super decadent and great waffle cone too! 10/10 recommend if you're looking for a sweet treat. read more

Such a cute little shop. Nice and clean decor. Standing room only. Line seemed long but moved so smoothly. Every associate greeted their customers with smiles. Good variety of flavors, even dairy free options. I tired the signature three half scoops: Milkiest Chocolate, Burnt Orange Dreamsicle and Green Mint Chip! I recommend ALL three flavors. PLUS - they let you sample with the cutest little gold tone reusable spoons so I sampled Sparkling Cherry Pie. Also a recommend, as well as my daughter's choice Lemon Blueberry! So many options. Don't let the fact that there is no seating make you pass up such a great spot! It was very comforting to see everyone outside after hours on benches, store front steps and seated next to the landscape enjoying their Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream. I was really impressed because the surround area has many dessert options and this place was packed all three times we walked pass the store on our evening stroll. read more
I love Jeni's! The first time I went was in Nashville a couple of years ago. Didn't know they had one in Naperville until recently. Not sure what it is about this ice cream, but it's delicious! This was my first time at the Naperville Jeni and I appreciated the good customer service and quality ice cream. There's only street parking, but I was lucky and found a spot right across the street. I got the gooey butter cake ice cream on a waffle cone. DELICIOUS! read more
We dropped into this bright new place for a post-dinner dessert. As dinner was only about 50' away, it was really convenient! There aren't any Jeni's located conveniently to us in Park Ridge, so this was a nice opportunity and only the second time for me at a Jeni's (the other was at their Southport Ave location a long time ago). Wife got a 2 flavor cone with wildberry lavender and cold brew with coconut cream. I also got a 2 flavor cone with wildberry lavender and darkest chocolate, and each cone was $6.25. As expected, it was a delectable treat of rich, premium ice cream. Is it the best? I can't say. All I can say is it's right up there in my mind with Graeter's, Capannari's, and Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream. Call it a 4 way tie lol. They do have a lot of flavors here though. Also distinctive is that samples are provided with a stainless steel versus plastic or wood spoon and customers like this I was told. I just thought of the dishwasher load myself. Note that there are no seats in here, so it's either stand and enjoy alongside a short bar they have, or carry it out. Anis was our friendly attendant and only on his third shift here. He did a mighty fine job and I hope the boss is reading. As with many ice cream shops, the crowd can come and go rather quickly, and we caught a nice quiet moment before a swarm hit. So tasty!! I had the wild berry lavender ice cream at my cousin's recommendation and was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't overwhelmed by a perfume-y floral taste or a sugary sweetness either, the flavor was very subtle and delicious. It ended up being $15 for the two of us to get ice cream, but it's totally worth it for special occasions like today. I will warn that it's pretty small in there and there wasn't anywhere to sit, but we ended up enjoying our ice cream outside since the weather was so nice. read more

Best ice cream in town! Had a really great experience at Jeni's in Downtown Naperville. The staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful, offering us numerous samples and guidance in selecting flavors. I got the classic half-and-half scoop in a waffle cup, with the Brambleberry Crisp and Vanilla Bean. While all their flavors are super good, this combo was perfect. Located in the heart of Downtown Naperville, Jeni's can get quite busy but the service here was quick and efficient. Can't wait to return to check out more of their flavors! read more

Was in the area earlier and stopped by for a quick snack and OMG the flavors are soo delicious!!! I got a waffle bowl with 3 scoops - Brambleberry crisp, Buttercream Birthday Cake and Honey Vanilla Bean. Everything tasted extremely fresh!! It's been hours later and honestly I'm thinking about going back just for the Brambleberry crisp LOL The staff was very helpful and efficient. There aren't any places to sit, but there's a little ledge where you can eat your ice cream on which was enough for me! Will definitely be back! 10/10 read more
Jeni's was a nice treat after dinner, with a variety of different flavors and options to choose from. Many of their flavors were unique, which made it even more exciting to try. It was quite busy on a Friday night and it took us about 20 minutes to just get to the front of the line, but many people had raved about the place so we thought we'd give it a try! My favorite was the bramble berry crumble, a good blend of flavors with a balanced fruity and creamy taste. The wild lavender was pretty good too, with subtle hints of tartness with a sweet aftertaste. The cranberry crumble was quite tart (obviously, with the cranberry!), so it wasn't my favorite. Overall, I'd try two of their flavors again and if I'm looking for a fruity, flavorful experience for dessert again, I'll definitely keep Jeni's in mind! read more
Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is a great place to be when you need to kill time waiting for a dinner reservation. When my husband and I entered Jeni's, there was a line that snaked around the place, but it moved very quickly. We got a plate with three scoops. The ice cream flavors are different than what you will find elsewhere. We had the darkest chocolate, brambleberry crisp, and coffee with a little cream and sugar. The flavors were delicious. I highly recommend Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. You might see me in line trying more flavors. read more

Though this store may be a little smaller than the enormous one nearby at the Oakbrook shopping center, it has all the same positive attributes that make it highly recommend for a sweet treat. The interior is decorated beautifully from wall to wall, the store is filled with the amazing smell of waffle, the service is friendly with a smile, the prices are reasonable (for the quality of product you're getting), and the flavors are consistently good. Definitely make sure to try the brambleberry crisp on your visit and all the seasonal flavors available. Though the line may be long here, it's well worth the wait for creamy, not too sweet, and refined flavors of ice cream that you're enjoying here! read more

The part of downtown Naperville where Jeni's resides is currently a mess due to replacing of ancient water mains, widening of sidewalks etc. But you still may want to struggle on over to check out their array of flavors (some dairy-free!) I was delighted to find a sweet mint flavor called Savannah Buttermint (think after dinner mints), since I love mint ice cream but not necessarily mint chip, and it can be hard to find outside the holiday season (though this was listed as "limited" too). I was a bit shocked that an ice cream cone would cost $8! Gladly i had a gift card this time, but this might be the difference between me picking this place and elsewhere as a dessert option, to be honest. read more

I've been to several Jeni's across the Chicagoland area and out of state. Jeni's is always so creative with their flavors. I tried their new cookie dough flavor, and it was amazing - not going to lie, that's not my typical flavor of choice but I'm glad staff recommended it to me. Apart from that, I was also able to try their new green mint chip, and it's probably my new favorite. I had three scoops of ice cream on this trip -- the green mint chip, cookie dough, and Texas sheet cake. She gave me a container to take it to go as well as a waffle bowl to go. Everything was well-packaged nicely. I love that they make their waffle bowls and cones in house, and you can even smell it from outside. I also bought a pint of cookie dough to go -- my partner really loved it too. A couple of tips here: they have dairy free options, they don't really have tables and chairs to hang out, and it's limited street parking that's first come first serve. You may have to walk a block or two to park at a lot. Jeni's is finally open in downtown Naperville!! After hearing so much hype about this ice cream, I finally got the chance to experience it at the newest location that just recently opened, right on Main Street. As soon as you walk in the shop, you immediately get hit with that wonderful ice cream scent -- fresh milk, sugar, and cream, which are all cornerstone, foundational ingredients of their many delectable flavors that are displayed in the cases. From honey vanilla bean to darkest chocolate to wildberry lavender, you will experience a smooth, thick, and creamy product that is not excessively sweet nor filled with any artificial flavors. The service is great and the aesthetic of the shop's interior is simple, bright, and actually combines a modern look with a feel of a nostalgic ice cream parlor. When you walk in it smells like a pancake factory. I was so glad to finally see us get one. I've typically gone to Chicago. The staff was awesome and the flavors are insane. Didn't see pistachio yet but maybe it's coming later. Pictured is a scoop of the bramble berry I think, and the lavender. I'm obsessed with anything lavender and I get it every time!!! read more

Yum, yum, yum, with a side of yum. We enjoyed the Bramblebeery crisp, milkiest chocolate, and wildberry lavender in a waffle cone. I'm not a waffle cone person- but theirs are special and divine! We got a pint of the gooey butter cake- the best ice cream I've ever had! My daughter loved all the flavors and her favorite was the wildberry. The staff was friendly, the shop was clean, and it smelled sooooo good! We can't wait to be back for more! read more
