Amateur photos at professional prices. I am a widow, 41 years old. I have taken family pictures…read moreevery year until my husband passed from leukemia in May 2019. After struggling through the last 19 months I decided my family was ready to brave taking family pics. The photographer I have used for years had moved so I went looking for a new photographer, which is how I found Jeni Vincent Photography. I was super excited to get these pictures done. I paid for an hour, got 45 minutes. We went to Calico Basin at Red Rock. It was a gorgeous fall day, the leaves on the trees were bright yellow and stood out beautifully against the Red Rock landscape. None of our pictures captured any of that beauty. We were told to stand in areas where the landscape background was washout greens and whites. I was hopeful of one shot where we stood on a platform between the beautiful yellow trees, but the final product you don't even see the trees we are surrounded by and the background is so overly edited that you can't even make out what we were standing in front of. When I got the final product I immediately reached out to her regarding the pics as everyone with myself in if was at such a poor angle that my double chin looked as if I had no neck. I asked if she could edit that and was told No. I then reached out to my old photographer (who shoots New York fashion week, and miss universe every year) and asked if I could pay him for edit the pics. He told me to send him the worst one. I went into Dropbox and found the worst one. Seconds after receiving it he told me so sorry there is no amount of editing that can or will fix poor lighting and poor angles and that's exactly what happened with my photos. I was advised to reach out to my Jeni and request a refund being professional photos were not what I received. When I emailed Jeni advising her I was not able to get it edited and would like a refund, she responded sighting she does not issue refunds. Then she sighted the money was for the hour she took taking my photos (which was only 45 mins) and then the 3 hours she used to edit them. She then went further to say that she had done additional edits that she normally charges $15 a photo for. Those edits can I just say are just as bad as the originals. So here I am out $250 for professional photos I can't even hang on the wall. Personally speaking, any photographer or artist should stand behind their work. I paid for professional photos, from a professional photographer. A professional photographer would know what angles and lighting to use that flatters all body types, however this photographer is not a professional, but she is charging professional prices... If you want quality photos I suggest you take your business elsewhere to a professional photographer.

My dilemma was securing a photographer for the reception only, at a reasonable price. I contacted Mindy Bean Photography and their services were outside of my budget. Mindy Bean Photography was nice enough to call me back to find out what I was looking for in a photographer. I replied, I want all rights to my photos after the wedding at a reasonable price. They suggested Saundra at SW Studios. I hired Saundra and met with her 2 weeks prior to the wedding. I wanted to know who I was paying and give her a feel for what I was looking for in the final product, the photos. The final product was better than I could imagine. I assumed photographers wear black so they don't stand out...now I know it's true. The shots captured were AMAZING, both my husband & I had no idea they were trailing us the whole night. I did forget to consider the photographers for dinner, I realized that once I saw Saundra at the reception. Thankfully, the reception was at Maggiano's so the additional food was easily fixed. Last minute, I gave Saundra a list of family photos I wanted that weren't taken at Wynn and she took care of it. The flash drive was promised to be delivered 3 weeks after the wedding and it arrived 2 weeks after the wedding. The photos were enhanced and she also included a Color and Black & White photo for each shot. My cost of $900.00 included 3 hours of service at the reception and all rights to photos on a flash drive. I couldn't have been more pleased with the service and photos. The pros first: Pros: - She has a wardrobe you can select different style of dresses from. You can even go before your maternity session to try them on. - Good selection of dresses - Super friendly - When it comes to booking and locking in your date, she's very prompt at responding. - Priced well for services Cons: In the past I've worked with photographers (maternity and not) and I'm used to organized plans. Such as sending questionnaires ahead of time for looks/style/inspo boards of desired outcome. Annina doesn't offer that which I was a bit surprised about. Only found out about background colors day of shoot. Luckily, I came prepared with reference photos of poses I wanted since she asked during the photoshoot. The system of selecting photos was a bit difficult. It took us severe days to drill down 100 or so photos to 15. She takes about 14-20 business days after you select the photos to send you the edited photos. Ours came at exactly 20 business days after selection. There is an option to add comments on the photos you selected. Looks like these comments were ignored since the change wasn't done on the photo and I wasn't told why it wasn't. I had to text many times about the photo album we purchased. From the day I asked, it took ten days to get a final response on look of album. There was a lot of "I'll send something later today" but that turned into 5 days later, twice. I had to keep asking about it. May have gone longer. Production of album was 3 weeks. It's not sent to your house (other photographers I've bought albums from send it to you) I had my sister pick it up since her place is far from me. Also, by this time, it had been 9 weeks, more than 2 months since day of photoshoot. It was a long wait ... When I texted her I would come to pick up the album, she gave me times but when I told her I would go x day during the times she gave me, she responded later and gave me a new time window for pick up. It could have been that I was on my way with her original time and she wouldn't have been there. All in all, she does have good work and she is super friendly. But due to the long wait time to get photos, slower communication after photoshoot was complete, I'm not sure I was completely content with the work. That said, many people did love the photos. If you like to get your photos in a short amount of time, like organization, upfront communication, love mood board and options to talk about your vision beforehand, this might not be it.
