Not only do we absolutely love our photos, but she went unbelievably above and beyond at every step of the way (she was carrying my purse, veil, and water bottle at one point, she was my therapist, she was our security guard in the crowded elevator, she was a brave shepherd for my guests to get on the shuttle bus from our ceremony, and that's only half of it). Because Amber showed up so prepared, we never felt like we were taking time out of any event to pose for too long. She also captured so many gorgeous candid moments and it's such a gift to see the weekend from different perspectives. When she tells you that she aims for photos that will remind you "how it felt," she is not lying. Our wedding album is truly a journey through every memory of the weekend as opposed to hundreds of the obligatory "everyone stand in a line and smile"-type portraits (but of course we got a few of those, and she nailed those too). I booked Deidra Photo for my parents' fiftieth anniversary vow renewal at the Vegas classic, a…read moreLittle White Wedding Chapel, and I am thrilled I did! My parents were so impressed with their photographer, Brandi's, kindness and resourcefulness. They had no idea what they wanted photo-wise, and I hadn't given any meaningful guidance as to desired shots. Brandi guided my parents through a variety of locations and poses to create a visually well-rounded gallery that was equal parts sweet and irreverent, and really true to them as people. I am so impressed with the level of skill, both technical and interpersonal, that it took to do all of this at the same time. From my perspective (as the one doing the booking), I found Deidra to be incredibly warm and a professional, dedicated business owner. I found out that my parents would be in Vegas just a few weeks in advance of their trip and started trying to make a surprise vow renewal happen as an anniversary gift. Given the time of year and lack of advance notice, I was shocked to receive a prompt response to my booking inquiry, and even more so that she was able to send someone. She was in touch with me throughout the process, was mindful of the fact that it was a surprise and helped coordinate contact between my Dad and the photographer at exactly the right time. Last but not least, she personally edited the gallery within ten days of the shoot, which is unheard of. My biggest fear about the session was that my parents wouldn't be comfortable in front of the camera and/or might hate every picture of themselves... My Dad is very shy, and my Mom can be very self-critical. When I talked to them after the session, I could tell they had fun and really connected with their photographer, so I was relieved already. And when I received the final gallery from Deidra, I was just floored. My Dad looked directly into the camera for many of them with something approaching swagger (?!), and my Mom's immediate reaction to the gallery was, "I didn't know we were this cute!" We will cherish these photos forever and could not be happier with the experience, start to finish.
