Best Macarons in Winnipeg or anywhere else I've tried through Canada or USA. Iv been Everywhere except North West Territories in Canada and Everywhere except Hawaii or Alaska for the states. The texture of their macarons are to die for and the flavors are unique and exquisite. I read a complaint calling the store owners racist and that is so not true and coming from a demanding unrealistic customer who simply does not understand this is the best bakery in Winnipeg so the amount of cake orders they receive are insane. I am Metis and in Winnipeg Metis are often met with prejudice, but never have I experienced this at Jenna Rae Cakes! This is the first food review I have ever written and probably the last as I only wrote this because of how much I LOVE this place, and how angry it made me to see some lady from Toronto diss the people working there. Don't listen to the haters try it for yourself you may like it, you may not. We had pre-ordered the "Goodbye to 2020" cupcakes for pickup. The Academy location is following the strict COVID guidelines and I felt comfortable going into their store (only 2 people allowed at a time) to pick up my order. The cupcakes were absolutely delicious (was there ever any doubt??) and they were decorated so beautifully. While I was there I just couldn't resist picking from their huge selection of macarons in their display case and getting a container of cookie dough as well for my daughter. Everything was so delicious! Thanks to you and your staff for always going above and beyond in your customer service and communication as well and keeping with your high standard of quality in your product. Excellent service. Made my daughters 23 covid birthday special. The cake was chocolate lovers and it was by far the best cake we have ever ordered. We have tried several other bakeries around the city and from self declared chocolate cake lovers it genuinely is the best we have had. The flavour, texture and the presentation all adds to the final product. The whole experience was super easy, from the online order, date and pickup time, the actual curbside pickup. They went above and beyond, even with an add on I sent after order sent in. The packaging is even beautiful. Wow. I love this place!!! I live in Calgary, but I am originally from Winnipeg. I was visiting in town for a couple weeks and my friend suggested we meet up here to catch up and enjoy some Jenna Rae Cakes! I definitely have a sweet tooth so I said yes! The staff was friendly and greeted us immediately upon entering this extremely cute shop. Ashley, the girl who served us gave us some great recommendations. I ended up getting an oreo brownie and my friend got a cake pop and macaroons (which I did try). The cakes, cupcakes and macarons from Jenna Rae Cakes are incredible! I am sure it is all great but these are my go to items! The attention to detail they put into their work is amazing. I ordered a cake for my nephews and when I got it, the cake looked like art. It was delicious, with colorful macarons on top. I took many pictures of the cake because it was so beautiful to look at it. I often order macarons to cheer a friend or cupcakes for family events and this is my go to shop now. I really enjoy the desserts from this bakery. The cakes are truly stunning...works of art...high price tag, but probably worth every penny. My only suggestion is that they either do away with the poorly handwritten discs that they top the cakes with, OR improve the hand-lettering. Sadly, the penmanship isn't very attractive, and I think they really cheapen the looks of the gorgeous cakes. The script should be far more delicate and not contain the hard lines that they currently do. Just a suggestion, as I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way. I haven't ordered a cake from them yet, but I've gone to the bakery several times and have already received outstanding treats and amazing service. The atmosphere is clean and elegant. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the Oreo cupcakes are to die for. If I was on death row, I would request a dozen of them for my last meal. Make sure you go early though. They often sell out of bakery goods before they close (which is good in that you know that you're getting treats baked fresh!) and there is often a line out the door. read more

Jenna Rae Cakes is outstanding! Until I tasted their macarons, I didn't get what all the fuss was about. My favourites are their Earl Grey and anything coffee or espresso. The flavours are true, and the level of sweetness is just right. They've set up online ordering to accommodate our cravings during this pandemic.
