I was forced to find a new dentist after my health insurance company refused to cover my former dentist. I had my first appointment about three years ago and I've been going back every six months since. I found a very friendly group of people there they make it easy to make an appointment and when you have an appointment time you get seen at that time no long wait. The office staff are very friendly and helpful and try to make your schedule fit into their availability. The dentists and dental hygienists are very gentle and, I never felt rushed if I need a break they give me all the time I need. Fay West is a complete dental practice and they have an in-house dental lab .If you're in the market for a dentist I believe you can't do better than Fay West.

So after suffering for a week with no food or drink I went in for follow up and told them what I was going through. I got no compassion and was told they would grind them to fit better. Lol nope not even close! So after 3 half hr trips there I finally refused them. And they convinced me to let them try again. Like a fool I agreed and was told it would b a process to build the new ones. But never was told the process would take 6+months and 7-8 more trips. And I ended up with dentures that still didn't fit and look terrible. I told them they were way to big and I couldn't close my mouth properly so the head dentist kept guessing how much smaller to make them which resulted in it taking so many trips and so long that my mouth changed and they didn't even fit any longer at all. I finally got sick of the games and just excepted what they handed me to cut my losses. I now have to start (the process) all over again at different dentistry. For the love of god if u need dentures DO NOT go to Gretz's or u will b sorry and depressed. Nothing more!

They are an hour away from whee I live, and I refuse to go anywhere else. They put my mind at ease, and I have taken less and less medication to calm my nerves each appointment. My teeth look and feel great after the extensive work that I needed (I wouldn't even GO to a dentist until it was almost too late). I will be keeping each appointment here without hesitation. I'm scheduled to have my teeth extracted in a few weeks and this dentist has me dreading it. When I first went in about 6 months ago for the consultation; In an effort to manage my expectations and make sure I had realistic ideas about the whole thing, she talked about dentures in a way that was totally discouraging. In fact she absolutely left me terrified. I ran for my life and didnt go back until I absolutely had to. Then she tells me if I want to have them extracted under anesthesia I would have to go to an oral surgeon and they wouldnt make the dentures for me then because too many people never came back and left them on the hook for the cost of the dentures. So I will have to tough it out for an hour and 20 mins and hope I can hold my jaw open that long. I highly doubt Ill be able to. They don't do soft relines until six months so as your jaw bone shrinks during the first 6 months, having loose dentures is something she won't fix. And when they do finally do them you have to go without teeth for 3 or 4 weeks. It's all bullshit. She needs to work on her bed side manners. I understand setting realistic expectations but you shouldn't scare the shit out of the patient and make a scary thing that much worse. You should be warm and encouraging and reassuring. The insurance already paid for them to do my dentures so Ive got no choice but I think im going to look for a new dentist after that.

He moved with Chestnut Hill of Mt. Pleasant PA and I followed him there. I regularly have my teeth cleaned and checked twice a year and had a bridge replaced by Dr. Butler. I woke up this morning with a broken tooth and in pain and called to see if the dentist could see me. I was told the earliest would be the first of March. I reminded the receptionist that I was a client and in pain, and I feared it may get infected, but her answer was sorry nothing until March. She then proceeded to give me a name of another dentist office that might be able to help me. How insulting. It is apparent that loyalty and pain mean nothing to the office. I feel they could have at least had the dentist see me or try to shuffle appointments around to help a patient in need. Needless to say, I will be shopping for a new dentist's office.

My father has been a patient at this practice in Scottdale for decades. Last year, he was scheduled…read morefor 3 dental cleanings (unbeknownst to him and unauthorized by him). This, in turn, meant he had to pay for his third cleaning out of pocket, as his insurance (like most others) will only cover 2 cleanings/year. Despite asking the practice to forgive the final cleaning because they scheduled it before the allowed time (and this was weeks away from 6 months), their best offer was 10% off his cleaning. Please take caution when appointments are scheduled to ensure they are scheduling it at least 6 months out. This should be standard practice in any dental office. For this now "Modern Dental" office to dismiss his requests (and mine) to erase the charge for his last cleaning, I would seriously think twice about selecting them as my primary dentist. The small family-owned business it was for years is now operating as a corporate practice, putting profits over customer service.
